I tried getting water multiple times and it always had something floating in it. It took them a really long time to make our food and it wasn't even that good. wonderful! so delicious! drove a little while to get pizza from this restaurant and i'm so glad i did. turned it into a day trip to the beach. the staff were very kind to us and the dining room was very clean when we had visited for take out. they did have dine in at the time. the food so so phenomenal. we had ordered a chicken bacon ranch hot hat which was like a calzone, was served with ranch, potato wedges, garlic bread and two pickle slices. bread twists with bacon and cheese, served with ranch and marinara sauce. our pizza had alfredo sauce, chicken, beef, broccoli and a couple other yummy toppings. finally we also got a tortellini pasta that was custom ordered with pesto sauce, garlic, onion, and chicken. everything was so flavorful and depop is. the pizza was very hot and yummy, the cheese had such a beautiful pull apart moment i was so obsessed. the chicken bacon ranch hot hat was amazing and the pickle and potato wedges were a delectable addition as a side. we didn't get to try the pasta fresh as we were stuffed, but was amazing heated up as leftovers. we traveled quite a ways and our trip paid off. thank you straw hat for such an amazing meal and a memorable day. would definitely recommend!! read more

Tonight, I ordered using their mobile app. It's a third party (powered by Freshbytes). I ordered and found that it didn't use my coupon. The website does not provide capability to cancel an order. The restaurant told me I should just call my order in (tip for other users). Employees could have taken care of the issue by comping me a small appetizer or something other than not standing behind the poor website. Straw Hat - A family tradition for many years. We have been coming to this restaurant for many years (Pre my yelping) and I just never did a review on it. We came in to enjoy a Straw Hat Pizza, as it is my wife's favorite pizza. I always have a salad bar and the wings. She always has pizza. The salad bar items were properly chilled and fresh. The salad bar was well stocked as usual. Their salad is always fresh, and well rinsed. Sometimes it's actually a little too wet. But I really like their salad bar and almost always get another plate for a second round. To me the only thing missing from the salad bar is sliced olives. One would think that they would have them because it IS a pizza place and they have them, but oh well. As for the wings, they are pretty good, but not my favorite. I prefer Buffalo Wings. The pizza this time was one of the best pizzas we have ever had here. The crust was perfect, not too thick or thin. The ingredients were perfect and spread out evenly. Every piece was properly populated with pepperoni, olives, and jalapeños. The service here is ALWAYS really good. The staff is very friendly and efficient. For health and weight reasons we do not come here as much, but we will DEFINITELY be back. Maybe they'll have olives on the salad bar. read more

The wings were good and juicy, kind of reminds me of the ones you buy frozen and bake/microwave, but hey I don't mind those. Cheap happy hour deals and half off pizzas on Tuesdays. Was waiting in a looong food line at sky zone (while my kid jumped) for what looked like it could heat and serve pizza. I used to come here to this Straw Hat Pizza way back in the early 70s, and they're still here! . The spaghetti I got here was plenty and delicious. The Hot Hat Pastrami Sandwich was disappointing. The picture shows it with a stack of pastrami inside, covered with cheese. What you get is hardly any meat at all. It came with 6 potato wedges, and everything tasted good, but when I paid more than the plain pastrami sandwich, I expected it at least to have as much meat as I thought I was buying from looking at the picture. . This place just took me back to my childhood. I remember going to the one in Montebello after little league games, church, or just for family night. They used to have the best tasting pizza I have had as a kid. This location in cerritos, Ca does not fall short of that great flavor. This joint even has a mechanical horse inside which I believe is the same one from back in the day. I guess I'm an ol school kid at heart where simplicity is still the best. I'm not a fan of these family pizza chains that are so loud you have to yell for Parmesan cheese from the person sitting next to you. I'm not a pizza restaurant professional but I'm a real foodie with a great flavor palette. Which reminds me that for this being a small chain the sauce is GREAT. Cooked thoroughly and flavored perfectly with sauce. Potato wedges were crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy inside. Solid taste on the wedges. The staff was amazing! I wish I got her name, but the lady that took our order was so cool. She informed us Tuesdays are half off pizza so we got that and some apps and saved about $10. Very cool of her, because she didn't have to do that but she cared enough to do so. The gentleman who brought the food was very helpful. Plenty of booths and tables & they even have a small arcade. We weren't welcomed in. The cashier didn't even say hello. The woman who brought our pizza wasn't too friendly either.
