Straub's is a small grocery store that packs a lot of punch when it comes to specialty food items and local finds. It can be a pricier option so I don't utilize it for day to day grocery shopping, but if I am entertaining or bring food to an event, you can definitely find everything for a great charcuterie board with a bottle of wine to pair.

Absolutely fantastic grocery store. Highest quality of meats in the area. They use Real, Prime, Top End Ingredients in their things in the Deli Case. The Butcher will knock your socks off with knowledge and wiliness to help and make your meal extra special. Lean Proteins are ready to grab and take home to prepare. Straub's Chicken Salad is truly Epic. Even if you are not a Chicken Salad person, try it once, there is nothing better even in restaurants. The Prime Roast Beef sliced thin is amazing. They have excellent Prosciutto that is a family favorite as an appetizer at a Holiday Party. Too many things here are the best of the best to name. See for yourself, this is a fun place to find new grocery products. The prices are high because the quality is high. It is worth it from time to time to indulge in the Best. I am ready to return.

Carrots for 9.99 a pound! But the deli section and the bakery are fantastic!

Short walk from my hotel. I bought a 2 pack of store made hamburger buns and some of their famous chicken salad to make a sandwich, and a delicious roasted chicken breast from the hot bar. It is a very compact store with everything you need - including wine! One of the most expensive grocery stores I've been to in my travels but their famous chicken salad is famous for a reason! My sandwiches were excellent!

Beautiful selections. I took the French lamb chops. Sorry.

Went here specifically to find fresh lab chops and fresh salmon for a birthday surprise birthday I'm cooking tonight. The butcher staff was amazing. He gave me exactly what I wanted and cut the French chops perfectly. I can't wait to cook them. The seafood counter was even better. They have three different choices of salmon to choose from. I explained what I need to the gentleman helping me and he was happy to help me. He offered to go ahead and remove the skin for me which I was grateful for bcus it's one thing I'd have to do later. Just as he was about to wrap it he offered to go ahead and cut it into cubes for me as well as I already told him I needed 10 cubes for my dish. My experience here was amazing. The only con was that some of the produce was realllllllly needing to be pulled and some of it was outrageously priced that I had to go elsewhere to finish shopping.

Quaint little grocery store close to the hotel. Prices a little higher, but proximity was good for where we were at. Friendly staff as well. You could feel the history of this store by looking at the inside, especially the ceiling. We purchased what we needed and walked back to the hotel, so very convenient.

When you get pork chops that looks as good as these, you gotta indulge! Their meat counter is expansive and the staff is super helpful. I saw these beauties and decided this was a match made in pig heaven. Store overall is a bit expensive but the quality is legit. I'll def be back. Oh and they have a decent wine selection

Pleasant service, full range of grocery items from fresh produce to hard liqueur. Excellent bakery for your special order needs or in my case to grab a croissant in route to work. Should you need other small convenient items such as greeting cards, a bouquet of fresh flowers, fresh herbs or batteries; bubble gum, fresh fish or a salad...Straub's has you covered. FYI, plenty of parking along with outdoor seating. Pricing seems a bit higher than Shop & Save, Schnucks & Aldi...and this could very well be fact lol. However; Straub's is more of a "gourmet grocer". Consider it luxury tax. ~Christy

We tried some of the "famous" chicken salad which was OK, but the salad that we got from here was AMAZING!

I stopped in to pick up a pork loin because I was around the corner, looking for ~3-4lbs of meat. They only had a 1 1/2 pound in the case (order taker weighed it to confirm before going to the back, which should've been my first warning) so I asked if they had any larger ones. They were nice enough to check and offer to cut one. That's where things went downhill. After waiting 5 or 10 minutes, my order taker came back out to ask how I wanted it prepped (bone or boneless, skin on or off). I said skin off and ambivalent on the bones. This was my mistake, leaving my fate to the hands of someone profit motivated. I walked out with just about a 3 pound bone in roast, which is maybe half a pound more meat than the one and a half pound I turned down - not enough for my guests and I. Had I gotten a roast closer to 4lbs, I would've been unhappy with the price but not enough to write a review. Additionally, they only charged a dollar less for bone in. At $15/lb, I effectively paid the price of their beef for the meat after accounting for the bone. I felt tricked. In hindsight, I should've just turned it down when I saw the price, but I was a bit too shocked to say anything. So I paid my bill and swore that I wouldn't be coming back for anything but (maybe) sausage again.

People here don't just like it--they lose their minds over it. I've witnessed stampedes toward the deli case that would make Black Friday look like a polite book club. Mention you've had better and you'll be shunned harder than someone who double-dips at a garden party. The thing is... the chicken salad is fine. Solid, even. But I've made better at home, barefoot in pajama pants, with a jar of mayo that was flirting with its expiration date. Shopping here feels like you've been invited into a members-only grocery lodge. The produce is flawless, the cheese selection could make a Parisian weep, and every item has a backstory worthy of a TED Talk. You're not just buying bread--you're procuring a "heritage grain boule, hand-shaped by sun-kissed artisans during a waxing moon." That wedge of cheese? It's from a small goat named Gerald who only eats lavender and listens to classical music. Of course, this level of "curated grocery chic" comes at a cost. I left with a bag the size of a throw pillow and a receipt that looked suspiciously like my car payment. But the place is immaculate, the staff is gracious, and the people-watching is world-class--equal parts country club and culinary cult meeting. Bottom line: Come for the spectacle, marvel at the devotion to chicken salad, and if you're feeling dangerous... casually say, "I think I've had better" and watch civilization collapse in the dairy aisle.
