I cannot express the joy I have when I come shopping here! From the delicious bakery items, grocery items, alcoholic, beverages, and a beautiful, well organized store. I am in love! I've never gotten an item that I wanted to return. The bakery items are always so fresh and so delicious. My go to favorite is Miss Hullings chocolate cake, or a German chocolate cake.

I should shop here more often! People are so friendly and helpful from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave. Honestly, it was an experience like no other grocery story experience. I parked in their private lot off of Kingshighway and made my way inside. As soon as I walked in, an employee greeted me and asked if there was anything I needed help with. I was honestly just there for their chicken salad so I let him know I was good. I did see a few bouquets of flowers at the front of the store that I just had to have, so I grabbed a few of those too. I made my way through the store and to the deli area where I snagged a container of their chicken salad and and I opted for a few croissants too. It's the best way to enjoy this dish. I also made my way to the freezer section to purchase a pint of Jenni's ice cream (birthday cake flavor)! It was such an easy trip since my list was super small and I didn't need too much. I walked through some of the aisles to see if anything else grabbed my attention, but I was honesty just so excited to get home to eat a croissant sandwich, that I didn't spend too much time browsing. The cashier who helped me was friendly and told me that I purchased some of the best items in the store! That was validating to me. Then I paid and before I could walk out, another employee came over to help me with my bags and with the flowers. It was such a nice experience from start to finish. I can't wait to visit again.

I have always enjoyed Straub's, I come here quite often for specialty items. Since I work in the area, I frequent this location a lot. I grab late lunches here and have become a fan of their chicken salad and egg salad sandwiches on croissants. They are definitely quite scrumptious. My newest finds are McConnell's Premium Ice-cream made in San Francisco and this Carrot Cake that is served by the slice at $5.99 a piece. They are absolutely my new favorite items. This Straub's I can honestly say has a wide variety of items which I love!!!! It's soo tempting and I always get caught up in spending waaaaayyyy to much. They have an amazing assortment of bakery items, wine, produce and frozen foods. The in-house items they make are always stocked, whereas I find at other locations when they're gone, they're gone. Yesssss, Straub's is definitely a high-end grocer so in turn of course you will spend more but it's definitely worth it. Also, the employees at this location are very helpful and courteous. I'm always asking about the carrot cake when I do not see any slices out and someone is always there to assist, even when I have questions about the frozen pizza's I've never seen in any other grocery markets. Yepppp, this is definitely my spot!!!!

You can get your gooey cake here!

So thankful for Straub's which was literally across the street from the hotel that we were staying at. We were driving cross country and didn't stop for dinner and it was pretty late. We were able to find something for everyone at Straub's to eat and then take away snacks for the next part of our roadtrip. I enjoyed a hot cup of soup and the hub and kids were able to put together meat and cheese plate with crackers. For the road, we grabbed some pretzels and donkey tortilla crackers (wish I had gotten more than one bag actually!). We couldn't be happier with the selection and ready to eat items! This place will definitely be a go to stop when we drive through the area again.

Classy grocery store, stocked with local foods and flavors. They have a wide selection of chips, salsa, snacks, beverages, chocolate and specialty items. And that bakery! There are so many delicious treats in the cases and stacked on the tables to try. Last time I was in, I got a piece of rum cake. Moist and sweet! I love browsing the aisle that has a surprisingly large number of jarred marinara sauces made right here in St. Louis. The local Bissinger's chocolates and gummy bears are a favorite of mine. It's fun to browse the soda bottles that sit individually on the shelves, in addition to a huge case of cold drinks. I mean, where else have you seen a soda bottle with Judge Wapner on it? :) If you're seeking super local flavor, you'll find it here.

A tale of two cities: an exceptionally good butcher, with some of the best beef in America (no joke) and absolutely atrocious, rotting, unconscionably bad produce. This would almost be excusable if their prices weren't so high. Honestly, they should just dump the greenery and stick to meat + groovy shelf items. They used to have a great cheese area too. Now it's just ok.

Great food, friendly staff! More expensive than other local grocery stores, but if you don't mind that, Straub's is great.

    Do they sell duck?

I would call them and ask. If they don't, Whole Foods might.

Order at the counter weather you are getting butcher items or ordering food from the menu. Don't forget to look in the cold cases for any number of items from eggs, bone broth, their delicious frozen biscuits, and many other items. Lots to choose from. I don't usually stray from my usual order of seasonal hash but I was eyeing a couple of new items I hadn't seen on the brunch menu before. A breakfast sandwich and hash browns. I was going back and forth and one of the employees encouraged me to go with something different. I asked if I could get it on a biscuit and would be sold. They checked and said yes, I was excited because I LOVE the biscuit. I decided to try the hash browns, too. You take a number and pick your seat, counter with stools line the windows to the outside as well as section that looks into the butcher cutting area. Food came out quickly and was thrilled at the hash browns, they looked so good. Shredded potatoes fried crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside - very good and I would definitely order them again. I am usually very picky about cheese, but I love pimento and the biscuit sandwich was amazing. So it came out as a split biscuit with the house ham and pimento spread, pepper jelly, arugula, heirloom tomato, and a fried egg. I cut the egg in half so I could take half home but it turned out to be nonsense as I couldn't stop eating the sandwich and finished the whole thing! Now I will have a hard decision next time I stop in! Staff is always great, super friendly, and always helpful answering any questions. Food is amazing!

Just go by direct from the farmers, the markup isn't worth it here anymore. As others have…read morementioned, they do over salt their prepared food fairly often but that's just the chef's palate. Everything's high-quality and poor value after accounting for the price. I stopped in to pick up a pork loin because I was around the corner, looking for ~3-4lbs of meat. They only had a 1 1/2 pound in the case (order taker weighed it to confirm before going to the back, which should've been my first warning) so I asked if they had any larger ones. They were nice enough to check and offer to cut one. That's where things went downhill. After waiting 5 or 10 minutes, my order taker came back out to ask how I wanted it prepped (bone or boneless, skin on or off). I said skin off and ambivalent on the bones. This was my mistake, leaving my fate to the hands of someone profit motivated. I walked out with just about a 3 pound bone in roast, which is maybe half a pound more meat than the one and a half pound I turned down - not enough for my guests and I. Had I gotten a roast closer to 4lbs, I would've been unhappy with the price but not enough to write a review. Additionally, they only charged a dollar less for bone in. At $15/lb, I effectively paid the price of their beef for the meat after accounting for the bone. I felt tricked. In hindsight, I should've just turned it down when I saw the price, but I was a bit too shocked to say anything. So I paid my bill and swore that I wouldn't be coming back for anything but (maybe) sausage or a snack again.
