Wow! I was not expecting such a nice meal but Strada really was just the ticket for a quick meal before a lovely evening at the Royal Albert Hall!
The waiter and waitress serving that evening were friendly, funny and attentive. We each had a glass of the Sauv Blanc which were ice cold.
I had the Pollo Funghi which was chicken in a creamy sauce with mushrooms, rocket and potatoes. The potatoes were perhaps just slightly too buttery - to be honest I thought they were delicious but if I'd have made them myself I'd never have cooked them with that much butter. They had been fried with onions so were super tasty. The rocket wasn't dressed but there was plenty of sauce from the chicken so that was fine, and the chicken was tender and juicy. Winning!
The boy was satisfied with his choice which was chicken in lemon breadcrumbs served with potatoes and green beans, although I think he had food envy as mine was the nicer of the two.
I've never been a big fan of these chain Italians and never would have popped in here if it weren't for being in such a hurry but I'm glad we did. Don't expect fireworks but do expect decent and (relatively) cheap dining! read more
