At the end of the year the rate increased to $62/mo but because I had realized I didn't need a large unit I downsized. I was initially planning to rent a a 5x5 unit but Steve(?) let me know that they had 5x7 units that would be cheaper. I am now paying only $14/mo. They have changed their policy so I was only able to pay for 6 mo in advance. It was also explained to me that the pricing depends on demand. Since the facility is down the block from Marquette there are predictable surges at the start and end of the school year.

The account was passed down to me with the death certificate and I paid the late fee amount. I requested a better rate and she said that it was approved for me. Payments started coming out my account for my deceased brother's rate for over 7 months and all correspondence was being mailed to his old address and not myself. Then the rate that was discussed finally was being directly being taken out for payment. In January of this year rate was going up too $289 for my camper spot! I called Fran and her excuse was it took system a while to switch the account directly to you and I told her that I will be moving it out by the 7th of March my due date for payment. I go to move it and the camper was hit by the other camper on the other side of me knocked it off the braces/bracket and left a large dent in the corner which will cost me more money to get it fixed on top of the money I had too pay to have it towed to another location. There was 4 campers that left because or the high rates. The day I was moving it they tried to bill me again but I locked my Credit Card. Fran would not pay the over charges but a $25 coupon to be used on my next month when I told her that I was moving it. I told her that I wanted to speak to corporate but she said that she was corporate and I can only deal with her. She would not give me her managers phone number and when I called any phone number it wend directly to her and she would leave me on hold and never pick up. Badly enough I loss my brother and I still grieving but the stress and money loss to this company and that employee said one thing and did nothing after what was agreed upon. A year later the switch the account to me and she said the system was slow but the mean time your taking my money and an address from deceased person. I am still trying to speak to someone from corporate and I will be contacting the local news station to not letting this happen to anyone else! Do not rent from this place! Their rates are high and can change without notice but take the monies out your account at anytime. The company doesn't care!

We have been long-term renters and have never ever been late on Any payments Or missed a payment. We were trusting YOU with our personal possessions and they were all ruined!! Our Deceased parents Howard Miller grandfather clock will cost us hundreds to be restored, as well our expensive dining room set with 8 oak chairs. A few leather jackets, family pictures, Etc... All covered in mildew. Adding more insult & distrust is when you don't answer any of my phone calls Nor have you returned any of my phone calls. I don't know how you can call it a "enclosed " unit?? Every unit has chicken wire on the top of all the ceilings! Our unit was two doors away from the side door with that being said everyone that came in and out of the door or left the door opened for a period of time moisture entered the unit which then entered our unit and mildew and mold completely took over our unit! I have never written a bad review but this had to be known to others so they don't loose any personal belongings as we did. I also have plenty of pictures to prove my statement as well! As of July 24th 2022 We removed everything from A150 your Shack of a building and I'm making this public So we DON'T get charged for another month. Also would be nice if you could PLEASE return our deposit. It's in our contract. But I highly doubt it. You could of at least called us back. Shame on you for running your business this way with such distrust and not caring about others personal belongings as you did ours. You treated our beautiful possessions as if it was nothing more then garbage. We are absolutely heartbroken. I'm personally heartbroken because we took such Good care of my parents Grandfather clock and our other things.. Now it looks, smell's Rundown & completely damaged. Something is going on with this facility. I've stored items there since 2/2021, without issue. On…read more8/18/22, I stopped in, as I do every couple of months... The building smelled terrible; there was mold/mildew on several items in my unit. It took 3 hours to unpack and clean these items. In that time, the AC/ventilation did not turn on. The ceiling fans were off. A Damp Rid humidity strip showed the humidity was over 60%. It felt like a steam room. The office was open, lights were on. I stood for several minutes and called out, no one was there. No one is answering the phone; the voicemail box is full. No one is responding to the contact form on the website. Last month, they emailed customers requesting proof of insurance, stating that if it was not received they would charge you for their own. This email came from a "no reply" address, and did not provide instructions on where to send proof of insurance. The email they send invoices from, replies with a bounce back server error. I live 2 hours away and the last thing I have time- or money- for, is arranging a moving company. But with zero communication from Neighborhood Storage Solutions, that seems to be my only option. I didn't take photos of my items because I was frantically trying to find someone to help me get some of it removed, and to clean the rest. Here's a photo of the humidity testing strip.

Came to my storage unit after the second fire just to find that the lock on my storage unit was broken off and I opened my storage locker to find that my items were rummaged through. I immediately called customer service to explain what happened, customer service told me to call the President of this U-Haul facility due to myself not having insurance on the storage unit. I called the President of the facility just for the President to say that he can do nothing and to call the police; which I proceeded to do. This U-Haul facility was no help with this situation and was not empathetic about what happened at all. The unit had holes cut in top of cage the manager said they never patch they just wait to repair whole thing so your items are not really secure. The loading and unloading of items is super hard one dock way above a uhaul truck bed. Back dock is always full of people.is you call call center dont expect any help. Juan cant handle swear words shouldn't be in the service industry to soft. You think your getting a deal cause its cheap online but pay attention they Jack rental 3months after they start. Way higher than any units in area. I never moved item in. Paid one month. Dont waste you time n money. Not worth hassle any problem you have .
