I work for a company that rents a unit to hold decor accessories. Every time I have been on-site, the front desk is present, happy, knowledgable. Seems like they have strong policies and everything in place. There is a young lady at the front desk whom I found very helpful with waste disposal (must be taken offsite) and updating my payment method. The outside of the place looks terrible and quite disturbing. But when you get into the building it isn't so bad. The 6th floor storage area is a little scary because there are grates above you. Good luck if someone is moving knives above you. You might wanna wear a hardhat. The customer service is nice. I didn't appreciate that I needed a key to get into the rest room. The rest room is behind a coded door that you know on your own. So what's the purpose of going to ask for a key? :::BATHROOM ALERT::: Very clean bathrooms. I was impressed with how clean it was. Too bad some resturants should take note. Great job on the restroom guys. I like the fact that you can get a free lock. But it's a little concerning that there is grates on your actual storage unit. It feels like anyone can get a Philipshead screw driver and break into your unit. I personally wouldn't use this place, but they do have free wifi. The hours aren't all that great if you need to get some from storage late. read more

I have been using this facility for many years. It has only gotten better in time. The facility is very clean, there are lots of moving carts to use, the bathroom is clean, and there's wifi. Carlos is extremely friendly and helpful. I have had cleanliness, and rodent issues at other storage places. Storage Post LIC has always been reliable. read more

I store my stuff here. It's pretty convenient, it's in a warehouse neighborhood, and there is *plenty* of parking. It seems secure with cameras and a code needed to get up the elevator. No after-hours access either. The prices are advertised on the website and are what they are. The people who work there aren't super friendly though; there is a guy there most of the time (manager?) who doesn't look up from typing on the computer when he talks and seems quite put out by his job. Well, he does work at a storage facility, how exciting is that. The kid that set me up with my unit was a spaz. Again, we are at a Storage facility. The reason I'm giving the low rating is the way I have to work with the space. There are multiple stories in the building which are accessed by a freight elevator. The problem for me is the floor; it's not solid. It's made of those really wide wire metal grates. Walking on them is fine but pulling anything with wheels is a mess. It's slow, loud, and vibrates everything on the trolley. You better make sure your fragile stuff is wrapped well or it's gonna vibrate itself into breaking from the trip between the elevator an the unit. And you can forget anything with castors, they'll fall through the holes and snap off. Also, the smaller (8x10 is smaller?) units don't take the fat locks. The lock hole is structured for only the thin (magnum) locks. The sucky thing now is that they are painting and we have been getting high on paint fumes the last few weekends taking loads over. First they sprayed the walls (with people's stuff inside and it got overspray in the units) before we moved in (whew). Then they hand-painted the doors when we were there. Wet paint everywhere. Well it is a storage unit; I don't have to live in it. read more

I don't know what's wrong with my face, but when I walked in to check the place out I did not get any of the sweet deals everyone else was offered. The office smelled funny and the loading dock had minimal amenities (it lacked a variety of moving carts, for example... or, for that matter, an actual dock. So if there's more than one car waiting to unload, your stuff is going to sit uncovered on the street.) Moreover, I wasn't offered a decent price. They showed me a space (in the size I requested) down a dark and dingy wall of storage spaces (much darker and cheaper in quality than any other place I've seen), in an unheated building (maybe okay for you, maybe not), and the guy (who was nice enough, I guess), quoted me $164/month for the 7x10. Not including lock, move in fee ($25), and insurance ($12/month.) I asked him if they had any specials for someone staying 3 to 9 months, and he said, well, they couldn't help me with a mover because I'm moving too soon, but they could offer me the first month free. If I paid for the next month in advance. That comes out to $125.67/month for three months, with no free truck (altho that's not really their fault, in my case.) Access Storage, which is in walking distance of Storage Post, offered me the same size space, with longer open hours, a loading dock, a free move, heated/fanned storage space, and a much cleaner, better-lit set up, for $174, with the first three months at half off. I also felt confident waiving the insurance with Access, which I wouldn't have at Storage Post. And--like it makes a difference--THEIR move-in fee is only $20. You could totally buy a cup of coffee in Manhattan with that extra five bucks. All told, they came out to $93.67/month for three months, cleaner, nicer, safer-feeling, and the truck would have been no problem. Neither are quite Manhattan Mini Storage, but Manhattan Mini Storage was going to charge me $367/month for the same size. Just across the tunnel. (CitiStorage, which is slightly more convenient to the 7 Train, offered me the same size space for $187 on the phone, with no deals at all, so I didn't check them out. Just FYI.) I'm sure Storage Post has it's plusses, but I didn't experience any, and unless they offer you a killer deal on the phone, I wouldn't waste my time. Two stars because they were, at least, polite, and there weren't rats or anything horrendous in the seven minutes I was there. read more

I had my doubts about getting self-storage. I thought it'd be sketchy, dirty, and uncomfortable. And expensive! It doesn't have to be that way. Storage Post in LIC is a short drive or bike ride or walk from where I live, and it's awesome. The staff is super cool, the facilities are state of the art -- clean, good customer service, and secure -- and given the part of town it's in, it won't be changed into condos any time soon. A room that's 9-by-10 or so will run you $75 a month if you sign up for at least six months. And the experience of going there makes storing your stuff really worthwhile. I recently got a space there, and it's been awesome. I took almost 30 boxes there today alone! Recommended. They have other locations, so check them out. read more

OK So Best price in the area with a great opening promo for first 3 months. Was great for me as they have a shuttle to the nearest train station WOOHOO Well I went back for the 1st time after storing my stuff there and 1) all the shuttles and vans were in the shop I was told 2) It us very dark on the floor my unit is on and it is midway into the corridor. The lights are motion sensored so they don't come on until you are almost halfway thru the corridor. PRETTY DANGEROUS if someone might be up there lurking. Also all the dollies were upstairs on the floors so it took an associate almost 20 minutes to bring one down to me. This should be something they do regularly ( bring them back down I mean) WOW guess you get what you pay for. After the 3 month promo is up I will look for another spot! read more

I've been a customer at storage post for two years now and its true there isn't many kick backs for a long standing customer with a good track record for paying on time every month. Actually quite the opposite, as my rate has gone up in the last year and threatened to go up again ( for extra housing costs) within a year I was hesitant to continue. However that said, I was able to email them and they promptly got back to me and were open to settling my query, which we were able to work out. That aside however, when I am at the location, I've found the staff to be usually helpful and personably friendly. The management helped me downsize to a smaller locker when I sold all my furniture and one of the very helpful staff, whom it escapes me now, but I think his name is Mike, ( loves motorcycles, Canada & laughs a lot) was so wonderful to assist me in taking the rest of my things to my new locker. And furthermore he always says hello when I am there to pick up my bike & such. :) In the past there has been some under staffing issues and the shuttle service they offer wasn't available to pick me up at the subway station, due to one person being on desk. Though when I was able to take the shuttle, another very nice gentlemen with the best and funkiest tortoise shell glasses was able to pick me up. He was also nice to speak with & made a point to say hello when I'm at the location. All in all the place is clean, dry and none of my things have ever been damaged or at risk of being damaged while stored here. Their free move service was a dream a couple years ago when I was in a crunch and needed to relocate quickly, & was a no fuss deal to place my things in storage under such a time restraint. I think if they just worked out rent rises without making the customers feel they were being taken (like the New York Landlords do), while still covering house maintenance costs, then they would be golden. read more

This place is absolutely adequate. The staff are fine. They are not my best friends, but they seem competent and they are pleasant. The facility is clean and well maintained. The carts are plentiful and they roll well. The storage rooms themselves are fine. They have doors that lock securely. The elevators work. There are lights. The lights turn on. Once, we needed a larger room and they quickly and without any wait showed us the rooms they had. One of them was OK so we moved there. We paid a little more for the larger room, but that was it. No paperwork. We were there for three years, and when we wanted to move out we just told them and they cancelled our room. No waiting 30 days, no need to show up in person with a notarized move out letter or any of that. Just because other places are so bad, I'm giving them five stars for being completely acceptable. If I need another storage space this one will be my first choice. read more

She made the experience of moving in very smooth and she was able to answer all our questions that we had. I dreaded the whole storage thing, but ended up having an absolutely excellent experience. I did a lot of research on clean, climate controlled, easy to reach, reliable etc, they came out on top (despite the relatively poor yelp reviews), and I'm very happy with the decision. I arrived at 9 sharp and it was open already (Morrison had diligently opened a few minutes before they were even meant to open, which was really pleasant given these sorts of places sometimes open late / close early). Everything is sparkling clean and climate controlled. Unit has great layout (perfect shape with no weird corners or anything like that), super easy access via ramp and elevator so my movers could slide it all right in. I think what made this pleasant and easy was Morrison. He had a terrific get it done attitude; I was slow to complete the paperwork because I was doing work stuff at the same time, he was so kind and patient and helped me e.g. get an outlet for my computer, or figure out covers for my items. The whole thing felt super customer first; he really did everything he could to make my experience smooth and easy. He was also really nice to my movers and let them back right up to make sure they wouldn't have to carry for far. I also saw him be very nice to another mover who had come and asked a few questions. Many of these places can be super stickly about policies, where to park, having to always accompany movers etc - vs Morrison approached the whole thing from a very practical get-it-done business standpoint, and was super understanding of the fact I needed to get it done easily, quickly, hassle free, while on conference calls and working etc. Also note they have 24/7 access and it's super secure with locks etc. the location is between the fire department and the sherif's house which made me feel very safe about the area. George W. We are new customers at Storage Post, Long Island City, Queens. We selected Storage Post because it is conveniently located with the B24 bus a block away. Although located in an industrial area, the facility is located between a Sheriff's office and a Fire Department facility with a hotel a block away. The facility is clean, the hours of operation are great and the site is electronically monitored with a code required for not only raising the barrier at the facility's entrance but also all renters are required to input their code to operate the large elevators to gain access to their units. Another convenient feature is truck access into the first floor adjacent to the elevator. This allows one to unload a truck or car inside the building with plenty of hand carts available to bring your storage items into the elevator. We initially reserved a storage unit over the internet. Anthony Velazco completed our paperwork and questioned if everything was OK. After moving our items into the storage unit, we did find that the storage unit was not adequate in size for our storage requirements as we had additional items to store which we did not bring to the facility as yet. Without hesitation Anthony brought us up to see a larger unit which was perfect for our needs. We moved our items to the new unit without a problem and are very happy with it. We are very grateful to Anthony for all his assistance in setting up our paperwork and making sure that our storage unit was satisfactory in a very curtious and professional manner. read more

Have been a customer here since 1999 and I don't know why. Rates go up more than anything in the area, everytime they "renovate" the office the rate goes higher. They have a $10 late charge and an additional $25 late charge if you pay after the 15th. So they have a $35 late charge, THAT'S MORE THAN THE IRS. Nobody ever available to help you with the elevator, no body answers the phone. I DON"T WANT TO LEAVE A MESSAGE. Plenty of places in the area, give your money to another storage place. They never answer questions, you can rarely speak to anyone and they will randomly increase prices. When you ask why, they just never respond. They threaten to put a lien on my account and remove my property because of their billing error, which I tried to resolve on 3 different occasions at the LIC location to which the response was our manager will take care of it. Finally I had to threaten legal action to get anyone to actually do anything. They just raised my rate and I have sent three emails asking for justification of increasing my rate to which no one has responded. This place is either grossly incompetent or dirt bags. THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!!! I've had such a great experience at this place that I had to write a review. The staff is great, and even remembers my name (seriously!). I've had storage units before but Storage Post LIC has surpassed them all. I run an Audio Company and at times have a truck full of gear I need to load and unload, this place is perfect for me. They have 3 huge drive-in loading areas, and can fit 2 full size vans in each so you usually never have an issue. The staff is pretty good at keeping people moving when it gets busy so people don't just park in the loading area (there is also parking outside). The units are nice & come in all sizes. Prices are very fair and for new customers they usually have great deals. They have a huge elevator for everyone & an extra super-duty elevator that is for huge tall loads I believe (never really needed to use it). The place is also very clean and I always see them making improvements, i.e. painting, adding security cameras etc... I highly recommend this place. Thanks S.P.! read more

I travel to New York often, i can't help but see this place when I drive on the LIE from the tunnel. I stopped in because I have to probably store some business files and binders so I don't have to travel with them. The person behind the counter introduced himself--- Miguel. The office looked new, but the unit area was a little dark. Miguel told me they were going through a multi million dollar renovation to enhance the customer experience over the next few months --- the exterior and interior. All the people were super friendly. The space was clean and organized with plenty of carts. Be careful not to leave your locker open while moving, the halls and spaces are not under security video, just the elevators and doors. Reservation process was quick and straightforward, price was excellent for what I required, and I can share my access code with employees without requiring key cards. I've had units at many different storage places over the last 5 years and I have to say Storage Post is the BEST!! Because of my job I get a lot of deliveries weekly and the staff always calls me to let me know when a delivery has come in. They are always available to assist me with heavy lifting and help me bring boxes to my unit. The great thing about Storage Post is you can pull in the garage to load and unload your belongings and everything is indoors, unlike many other storage places. With my busy schedule I need a place that is convenient and quick, and at Storage Post I get it all. The Staff makes the experience event better. I definitely recommend Storage Post to anyone living in the tri state area. read more

I called them on a Saturday night (spoke with Crystal) and was able to arrange delivery for Tuesday afternoon. The delivery men arrived on time (uniformed). They were very professional and courteous. Even though the space, cleanliness, location are highly satisfactory, I'm pretty offended the price was raised soon after moving in, and has been raised again a few times every few months or so. I definitely want to warn everyone of their practice of doing so. I would get a letter in the mail about the price increase but there would never be a reason about why it was needed. I've been renting from Storage Post for several years now and while the space itself is well maintained, they've raised my rent every 4-6 months for the past few years. I've gotten at least 3 rent increases within the past year. And each random rent increase is substantial at $20-$50. And the rent increases are always random. I get the same exact stock letter every time they increase the rent, saying they need to raise rent to continue providing good service. It doesn't indicate exactly why it's increasing by the specified amount. read more

Terrible customer service!!!! After 8 years of over paying for a shitty little storage unit I finally had enough when they recently asked for more money. So I found a competitor (CubeSmart), closer to my house, in a better/safer area, cleaner, newer and a larger unit for substantially less money. I contacted them to say that since I've been a customer for so long I'd be willing to stay on if they came anywhere near the quote I got. It took several attempts but finally one of there managers (apparently they are all managers at this location), contacted me back and asked to see the quote, which I gladly sent him. No response for a few more days, I finally called back. The guy I was speaking to wasn't around (of course) but he did call me back later that day to offer me a $2 per month discount, still over $10 more per month than the quote I sent them. So I told him I would be vacating the unit, he said I needed to be out by the end of the month, which I was. I wish the story ended there, but now they are saying I didn't give them notice I was moving out and are trying to charge me for another months rent on the unit. Unbelievable! I've been a renter for over 6 years and they started to increase my rate 2-3 years ago to get my lower rate up to "market" so I would get random rate increases throughout the year. When I call the main office, I never get anyone to address or justify it. Its just a dusty storage unit! The last straw came when I just got another rate increase within the year! Very impressed with this storage facility. Christina completed my paperwork in an efficient and pleasant manner. She was very knowledgeable about policies and explained each term very clearly. Before I signed the contract I toured the entire facility. Each floor has a bright fresh coat of paint and the entire place is clean and well maintained. Easily accessible from major highway and ample off-street parking. It is located in an industrial area but feels safe. There are carts available to move stuff to and from the units and 2 large automatic elevators bring you to each floor. Many different size units to choose from and pricing is very good.
