Great experience moving into our unit today! Facility was easy to find, easy to park the car in, clean and new-looking. The two employees who got us set up, Sharonda and Abimbola, were super nice and helpful. There is 24 hours access (and security onsite outside of office hours) now that we're all set up, and Sharonda walked us up to our unit and explained how to use all the keypads, elevators, etc. There are dollies available to borrow to get your stuff up to your unit. There's even a bathroom! Very happy with our choice. read more

Had to fly out from Chicago and quickly find a place to store my son's possessions after his apartment lease fell through (and the landlord stole his deposit) just as he was starting school. Needless to say, it was kind of a stressful few days. The moving company suggested Storage Post, and from the get-go, our interactions with them have been great. Every single person with whom I interacted on the phone or in person, was kind, professional, and patient. Fred was the person who helped me select the proper-sized storage unit, and he was awesome. The units and the building itself were well-lit, secure, and VERY clean. When my husband recently went back to Storage Post to help move our son, he called me to say that Fred had helped him as well, and he was so happy and impressed by his professionalism. This may sound strange, but we both walked away from our interaction with Storage Post thinking that it helped restore our faith in humanity. read more

Chelsea Ministorage was bought last year by Storage Post, closed and after 25 happy years my storage was moved to Brooklyn. I was told I would receive 50% off the first month at Brooklyn, and 10% every month after and as I was enrolled for autopay at Chelsea, in November I would instead pay my rent on the spot in Brooklyn and arrangements would be made there at that time to transfer my autopay from Chelsea to Brooklyn. I was then told to wait for further notification of scheduling of the move as details had not yet been finalized at that point.October 31 I received word, less than a week in advance, that my move was scheduled for November 5 at 10 AM,. November 5 was the first day of my monthly rent due, so I guess it was assumed that I knew it would be the date of the move and only the hour was to be scheduled. Actually I thought the opposite: if they had no information for me mid-September and I received no further word till October 31, I assumed, apparently wrongly without information to the contrary meantime, that it might be anytime after November 1 and certainly with reasonable notice, say at least a week. As such my personal schedule was already filled up otherwise from the 5th up until the 11th, which would be my first day free thereafter. This was initially rebuffed with great opposition by Storage Post staff, insisting that it was impossible any other date but the 5th, to which I I had to push back, insisting it was impossible and unreasonable to expect on such short notice. Finally they referred me to the movers who ultimately managed to reschedule for the 11th and both Storage Post call staff and the movers assured me that I would be able to delay my November rent payment till that day, without incurring a late payment fee.I was also informed that since Storage Post did not have a unit equal in size to the one I'd had at Chelsea, that I'd just have to cram everything into a smaller locker,which is of course physically impossible,, and, I was initially told for the same money a larger, more expensive locker wasn't available "at that time". Once again refusing to be cowed by Storage Post staff's attempts to coerce me, I had to insist that I be provided with a sufficiently large locker, but at no extra charge i.e. the smaller locker's price since Storage Post had effectively taken my storage hostage against my will and were therefore obligated to provide adequate service, even at a loss, since none of this was my desire or doing. After all their resistance I had to fight, staff finally agreed to provide the larger locker at the lower price .November 11th the move was made as scheduled, however, the boxes used to move were larger than the spacing of the shelves I used in my locker, so , whereas the objects inside them fit on the shelves, the boxes themselves were too large, and after the boxes were loaded in, there was no space left for the shelves. Fred Zarka, the manager, then told me I would have to pay for a larger locker, and I refused, as it wasn't my fault that the boxes they used wouldn't fit on my shelves. Apparently he has no concept of the time involved assembling and disassembling shelves, because at that point, with an obvious disregard for my time and effort he suggested that I disassemble them to fit. As always, I had to adamantly refuse and insist and he finally agreed to store the shelving units in some office there, perhaps the mail room, I can't remember. It was closing time so I just had to leave it to him, and I havn't seen myself the place where he put them.He then apparently didn't get, or disregarded, the memo that I was supposed to pay the lower price for the locker, only after much resistance on his part and more insistence on mine, did he finally make the arranged change and accordingly charged the price to the lower one. He went on to assure me that though my payment had been due the 5th, I would not be charged a late fee, and that he had switched my autopay to Brooklyn.At this point let me say Mr. Zarka's performance has been very spotty at best. After my repeated calls and left messages for him, he has only returned ONE. I have only reached him directly once, every other time being told by whoever picked up the phone that he was unavailable and I had to leave a message. The ONE time when I called and he picked up I told him I'd left a couple messages the week previous, he denied receiving the messages, so I naturally assumed it was either the fault of some technical glitch or negligence on the part of his staff, but month before last when I was there in person and overcharged as always, despite my wasting months on the phone with more than half a dozen members of Storage Post call staff assuring me that the discrepancy would be fixed, and never was, I personally witnessed Kineesha in the reception at the Brooklyn facility speak to Fred directly on the phone, and so many other endless on-going Horrors that won't fit so JUST DON'T!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

My girlfriend and I had been shopping for a storage unit near our apartment in Williamsburg. We'd had a bad experience a day prior at the nearby Public Storage location on Gold - hours different than advertised online, size of unit different than advertised online (with a sprinkler pipe running through the middle of it), rude staff, etc. While scouting out alternative options we noticed Storage Post in the building that used to be Moishe's. The staff were friendly, helpful, and informative, they had a larger unit for a lower price and offered two months free, and cancellation with 10 days notice. Couldn't be happier. The team over-delivered in many ways: incredibly supportive of my moving needs and patient with all my questions upfront. My organization had been looking for months for a storage facility in Brooklyn that would be responsible and diligent with our arts equipment. It was a miracle that we found Storage Post! Throughout our time with Storage Post, we witnessed diligence, intelligence, and experience in handling our personal, private possessions. It takes a lot to trust someone with your personal possessions and Storage Post has definately earned our trust in handling our belongings. They have exceeded our expectations in being an incredible company. The staff established a professional, but inviting atmosphere for my organization. We were able to convey our wants in a relaxed setting. A couple of members from my organization accompanied myself to this Storage facility and we were astounded by their well-kept and hygienic accomendation!! Moreover, the access to the unit was effortless and smooth. In other words, It was A PIECE OF CAKE!!! She has a good knowledge base of what is available in the building and I had a lot of questions and she was very patient. The street is very crowded with a car repair building across the street. An update to my review below. Storage Post management contacted me. They looked into the billing issue and resolved it. Apparently, the facility manager was on vacation when the incident occurred so they sent another manager over to speak with the staff about communication, customer service, etc. I give management 5 stars for rectifying the problem and hopefully the will be staff friendly and helpful in the future. read more

This is my first time leasing a storage unit in NYC. After doing quite a bit of research, Storage Post Grand Ave was the best service available for my needs. The online deals are great and the prices advertised are exactly what you pay - no hidden fees, no surprises. I would recommend calling in to speak with a representative as you might get an even lower rate. The staff is courteous and extremely professional. The entire process was not without hiccups though. For instance, I called in advance to reserve a unit and to inquire about the option of having one month free or a free pick-up by a moving company. I was not told the moving company needs a 5-day notice to schedule your pick-up. I decided for this option but only confirmed/requested it 3 days before my move-out date. Monica apologized for the lack of full disclosure (unintentional) then moved heaven and earth to make it happen for me. The moving company (Century Movers) were courteous, professional and extremely efficient. While I was finalizing my contract, there was yet another error on the part of the Storage Post staff. Isaac was not only professional in handling the error but decided to give me both one month free and a free pick-up! Sure, it would have been great to have experienced a stress-free transaction but the staff assumed full responsibility and demonstrated a degree of care and commitment to customer satisfaction that is rare these days.
