The place is an ABSOLUTE JOKE! I sign up and reserve a 5'x5'x4' unit online. When I show up to see the unit I can clearly tell it's not 5'x5' - it's not even a square, it's like a sad rectangle. I tell the office manager and he's just like "yeah they gotta re-measure these units" like they clearly know they aren't the size they are advertising and selling. I measure it with my iPhone and it's literally 5'x3'x4'. Literal false advertisement by these scammers. I tell them I won't pay the price of a 5'x5' for something that is clearly 5'x3' and after waiting an hour for a manager, the douchebag says he can knock $10 off or I can take a refund. He says sometimes you get more than you pay for and sometimes it may be less. These guys are pure scammers that know what they're doing is wrong and don't care. Couldn't imagine a big company like SaeGuard would be engaging in this type of behavior. Peace out Safeguard! Obviously I'm not doing business with such a scamming, dishonest company. Had a nice storage unit but the fees kept ratcheting up every year. What started out at $180 turned into nearly $400! We moved out and gave up the unit in the middle of the month and Safeguard will not refund the remainder of the month's rent to us. read more

The staff are generally very helpful. Carlos at reception was super accommodating, and worked overtime to sort out some issues on my storage reservation. Opening hours are a bit restrictive and the loading bay is often very crowded, making it difficult to pick up and drop off stuff. They also automatically added insurance even though I provided proof of external coverage, had to call several times to get it removed. read more

They auctioned off my Deceased mother's belongings on February 20th 2024, I spoke to Carlos on February 19th to find out what the total was. He never informed me that my Deceased mothers belongings was going to be auctioned off the next day. My siblings and I have nothing left of our mother. Due to the stress of the auction, a family emergency, and the anniversary of our late fathers death took a toll on me so bad, that I was in the hospital due to me going into Atrial fibrillation and high blood pressure. Make sure when and if you're paying with a check u take it in person then you'll have proof and get a receipt because the workers at the storage steal the money after they cash the check and say they dont know what your talking about. I was not pleased with how I was spoken to when I went to do a drop-off yesterday towards closing time. The unpleasant and unprofessional woman I dealt with made it clear that she felt I was dumb for not realizing that swiping the fob for access meant I should then enter the door to the side of the garage and open the garage door from inside, rather than the fob opening the garage door itself, like I'd thought. Regardless of the circumstances, I expect better and kinder communication from a company I give thousands of dollars a year. Also, I'd agree with other reviewers that they seem to have a policy of raising rates not long after you've started, something I might have been more amenable to had I not received such unpleasant service yesterday. read more

do not store your things here!!!! Mildew destroyed many valuable items of mine in the lower level due to cement walls + damp leaking air conditioner, and their insurance denied EVERYTHING. There isn't a dumpster on site so I couldn't even throw out some of my mildew covered things - they make you take stuff with you to throw anything out. Also, the rate increased 3 times without warning immediately after storing my things here. When you put things into storage here you get into the position where they're basically holding your things hostage and upping the ransom, and your only option is to pay it, or deal with the huge hassle of moving to a less awful facility- I stayed and paid. If I could give them zero stars I would. The staff who work here are mostly very nice. Lina is especially helpful. The halls are generally clean. Units have average cleanliness, but - and I've witnessed this directly - they are not thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between customer rentals. I had a moth infestation (4 years into a rental, not self-introduced) that was most likely attributable to an adjacent unit not being cleaned, or to the sub-par climate control. The biggest reason for this 1-star review is the brutal anti-customer policies reflected in the corporate pricing strategy, and the laughable nod to corporate 'customer service.' If you rent here you'll be lured in by an attractive introductory offer, and then your rent will increase by an average 15% every year. There are no rewards for being a long-time renter who pays on time. There are no discounts for paying in advance, or paying multiple months at a time. The fees for paying over 5 days late are 20% of the monthly rent. It's nearly impossible to get those fees removed - you'll get the runaround trying to find out who is authorized to do so, and when you finally get a call back from a company representative, they will deny you your (reasonable, polite, first-time) request. Let's face it - if you're renting here it's because the location is convenient. Safeguard exploits that for all it's worth, and then some. read more

I used this storage center for almost a year for business purposes. The staff has always been kind to me, namely David and Stephanie. Over the year, the staff accepted numerous (& large) deliveries on my behalf and I always received a call alerting me to the shipment. The manager, David, was quite accommodating to me from the start...he showed me some units where he could drill a hole and run an extension cord through (I was thinking ab storing a working fridge needed for my job), and also let me use their private dumpster a couple of times when I was in a bind (THANK YOU DAVID!). Side notes: 1. There is room for ab 3 cars in the indoor driveway and a couple off street spots in front. 2. The facility is climate controlled. I'm leaving because, for now, I no longer have a business need for the unit. The reason for 4stars (& not 5), is the lack of tenant access to the dumpster. I've been with other storage facilities (in the city) and access to a dumpster is crucial for all the work items/shipping boxes that I occasionally need to toss. read more

I have had things in storage at this place for over 5 years. I spoke with someone a couple months ago and decide to put it on automatic payment. I find out to my surprise it wasn't done and they threatened to take my things to auction in a letter. When I finally reached someone who could help me, which took 2 days because the other person working there said they weren't authorized for payments, Raphael, the manager, was rude and insolent. You would think after almost 5 years of paying on this unit they would show a little more respect to their customer. There are a lot of storage places in India and around the Coachella Valley. This is a really good storage place, very clean and in a safe neighborhood.. Also the location is key as its nearby a few UHAUL locations as well.. Easy access and technology improved during time I had my unit there.. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a storage unit. A bonus, employee Bernadette is great, very personal and kind. She always informative and helpful with everyone she was assisting. Needed this to store clothes and personal effects for easy access. 1. The hours suck. Like unless you live nearby and or don't have a life, these times are at best, entirely unhelpful. M-F 8:30am - 7pm, Sat 8:30am - 5:30pm, Sun10am - 5pm. 2. Their ladders don't work well and (2) of the (3) are broken and won't lock properly or otherwise, unlock. So either you have to drag it over from wherever it was or worry about falling because it decided to move on you. 3. There's a female office manager. She's totally indifferent to customer needs. Must know somebody who got her the job because after several dealings with her I've learned she clearly doesn't give a sh*t. Can't even follow simple instructions as to charging a credit card either. 4. When I first moved my stuff in, you couldn't pay over the phone or online!! Seriously. Like W. T. F. ?!! This isn't a mom & pop facility, it's a major retail chain. What a total letdown. When their site allowed you to manage your account online - it didn't work. I had to contact the district manager (and a couple of other people) and after some prodding - they finally created it for me. But what a hassle!! 5. I found out, that right after they had near full occupancy, they jacked their monthly rates by - it was a huge amount, something like 20%. I was so pissed off about that. Way to give your customers the shaft. The only positive note was that when I left, David Delapava was kind enough to close out my account on time so I wouldn't incur unnecessary fees. So thanks David. You're the only reason I'm giving two stars. That said, go elsewhere. Try Uncle Bob's or Manhattan Mini Storage. You won't regret it!! read more

I have never ever written a review for something like this, but I have to tell you, after having the worst move of my life, I was prepared to have yet ANOTHER hiccup, but Safeguard was a breeze. It knows my name when I use my little key pass thing! My space was clean! Yes, you get some fees, but, it's super cheap and fees like $9 insurance is nothing when your movers are a bajillion dollars. I think I got the biggest unit you can get and paid, like, $56? Maybe I don't understand storage facilities, but this was really, really unscary. read more

DO NOT use this facility. The rates are sky high. The customer service is terrible. There is only one bay access in front of the building which is usually always blocked and when you do finally get in, you are blocked by someone else. The access in the rear of the building is a total joke. Good luck getting a truck or van in there, even tougher good luck backing a truck or van OUT of there! Many of the available units are located on a second level only reached by a flight of stairs. I tried to downgrade my unit to a smaller one and was told the only one available which had better access was only a small amount less expensive than my much larger unit. I recently moved my storage to CubeSmart in LIC and the customer service is excellent, the units are about half the price and access in and out of the facility is way better. read more

There is always a spot to park, it is always clean, the staff is super friendly, the price was as advertised, and they were flexible with me when I moved in and wasn't sure of the day and size of unit I needed. THEY WILL RAISE YOUR RATES VERY SHORTLY AFTER YOU MOVE IN! They are extremely aggressive with raising rates on people a couple of months after they move in, knowing that most people do not want to face the difficulties and additional costs of moving things from on facility to another. Had I known that they would increase my rates by 50% over a few months I would never had gone there in the first place. This is a very unethical business and I hope people take this into consideration. read more

I had the same experience as Erin M- almost exactly. I was excited to have my stuff so close to where I live and the place is clean and nice, but they keep hiking the price and are pretty transparent about taking every opportunity to slap on late fees. ie i had the account on auto pay. They raised the rent, then charged me b/c the amount of auto pay was the former rental price. The discrepancy was something like less than 10 dollars but they slapped a 20 late fee on my account just for that. I asked for it to be waived and to let me know. they never got back to me then next month when I paid my full new price hiked rental amount, they charged me another late fee on their earlier 20 late fee. (!) I asked them to waive at least 20 of that. they refused. So I had till the end of this month to pay that inane $40 combo of late fees, and I stalled b/c work has been hectic and frankly, I hate even having to deal with them at this point. However just today they informed me via email they have REVOKED ACCESS TO MY UNIT over those fees-- although they weren't even due till end of the month. I've tried to reason with them but they just don't care. I really don't want to move my stuff again but I will b/c I just don't want to deal with them. Huge disappointment. read more

It's clean and the Guy behind the counter is a nice guy, if thats all your concerned about. The hours suck, and they don't return phone calls. They entice you with a low monthly rate, and then slap on a ton of fees. They led me to believe I was signed up to auto pay, and then hit me with a late fee, and two other fictitious fees. Within two days of them calling me to tell me they were going to charge me a late fee, I drove down there to straighten it out. When I explained the confusion to them, the manager literally said "not my problem" so much for customer service. This might be an isolated incident but it is my impression that these guys want to get you on the hook and then milk you of as much money as they can before you move your stuff out of there just out of principle, which is what I am going to do right now. read more
