I want to start by saying the manager here Tom L Fantastic…read moreguy - place is clean etc. I stored a house full of furniture in one of their locations in Oct 2024. Within a few months I received a rent increase. Now it is May 2025 And from the last increase a few month ago I received a notice that they are RAISING MY RENT AT 30% + I would suggest for anyone looking for storage Do not fall into this trap. This has nothing to do with the manager, but to do with the corporation and what I will assume as being greedy. Having a unit go from $200/month to $300/month with in 7 months just shows you what they are doing. I feel like I took a unit and the Company is making these price gouges knowing we a semi trapped. Beware ! I plan on calling our local news station and newspaper to expose this outrageous price increase. I planned on being a long term customer with Extra Storage and I even told friends in other states how I "thought" the company was fair and how clean my location was and to check them out. Now with what they are doing to people as the economy is tanking they don't care about the customer. Find a friend that may have space. Pay a little more for a better bigger apartment for yourself to live in that can hopefully hold most of your belongings. I'm sure all these "big storage co." Are all going to follow suit. I will probably look for a better option and get a long term contract so you're suddenly not thrown off guard. The amount of the increase is unheard of And needs to be exposed. If we all don't pull out and don't fill these units watch the prices drop. Again BEWARE this is a thing and anyone considering storage - get ready because I'm sure I'll be back shortly with another huge increase if I'm trapped there until I change my home situation or sell off what is there. At this rate you could most likely replace your items by saving your money just donating your things, selling them giving them to friends. As you can see I want to warn you and I am quite disgusted by what this company is doing and I'm sure all large storage companies do. Look for better solutions and don't get caught in this web I did. The corporate part of this company does not care about the customer. If this is happening to you definitely help me warn people and get the media and newspapers involved. Someone has to stop this and together we all can. If this price gouging I would just say we have the power to bankrupt these companies that take advantage of us. Good luck And again this is a corporate trap - I've never seen anything like this Ron Bronowicki

Rachel, the property manager at the Plymouth Meeting Public Storage was phenomenal in helping me…read moreand explaining things to me. --- Not only did the Roxborough, PA sales person con me into booking without telling me that I HAVE TO PAY for the remainder of December, even though I communicated to her that I only want the unit 11/23/25-12/22/25, and PAID IN FULL for that 1 month stay, but she neglected to inform me that if I cancel, I'd also lose the $29 admin fee. These incidents occured during regular office business hours and not during what would be considered reasonable lunch hours (lunch wouldn't be a valid excuse anyway for having the doors locked, just addressing any possible justification for the office to be locked during business hours). On these occasions, I called and left voicemails and never received a call back. In the first year of rental, the cost of my unit went up 126%. Over the entire span of my rental, the cost increased 306%. I chose the autopay option. The site set it up so that my payment was late every month resulting in changes in my account status and occasional calls from the office (when someone was working) asking for late payment. There was no way for me to adjust the date of the auto payment.

We had partial loads to California and Massachusetts as well locally to Springfield, PA. When I began calling on June 25 to find a mover for July 1, I discovered that July is the busiest moving month and requires three or four weeks lead time. Big name moving companies couldn't even schedule an estimator before July 11. When I spoke with Jacob at Countrywide on Monday morning, June 27, he committed to the local move for two days later, June 29. Because we were very organized and had a detailed list of the number and types of boxes and the type and size of furniture to be moved, Jacob made an estimate via email. By Tuesday afternoon, June 28, he had arranged for the partial load to Massachusetts also to be pick up on Wednesday to go to storage for a September delivery. A few hours later Jacob had managed to scheduled a pick up of the California load for Thursday, June 30. Although their contracts stipulate cash only at pick up, Jacob arranged to take checks and saved us many trips to the bank. Countrywide had a "can do" attitude for the moment they answered my first phone call and worked tirelessly to accommodate our ridiculous schedule. As we worked through scheduling and moving I received frequent calls from Jacob updating me on the arrival of the local move truck. He assured and worked with apartment management to get the huge truck going to California) into the complex. We had done 95% of the packing and required very little special packing and wrapping of our loads. Everything got moved out of mom's apartment so quickly and easily. Countrywide did a fabulous job. Only a few small items in one box were broken in the California load. All the rest was handled gently and efficiently. I recommend Countrywide Moving and Storage unreservedly. I would use them again for sure.
