We recently came here to shop for some specials and as usual, the item we were looking (value pack of a meat item) for was exhausted. We asked one of the guys working there if we could just bring two of the smaller packs to the register and get the deal. He said...sure, I think that would be no problem. Sure enough, when we were checking out, we asked the customer service rep if that was ok and she said sure, we can do that for you. Very friendly, very helpful and very customer focused. This is the worst location in the area for customer service. The front end manager (heavyset, middle-aged woman with long straight hair) is the worst. She is just miserable all of the time. Zero interest in actually being there and heaven forbid you need her to fix errors caused by the unpleasant cashier (older, middle-aged woman) I experienced last night. I asked cashier a few questions and she was confused by every one of them. I greeted her with a hello and asked how she was. Her response: "do you have a stop and shop card?" She seemed overly nice and chatted (for quite a long time) with the two ladies who cashed out in front of me, going over how much they saved and everything. As soon as it was my turn, it was as if the cashier was a different person. Very interesting as to why I think that might have been. Same with the front end manager. I'm going to continue observing their behavior should I choose to shop here again. I usually go to another location further away to avoid this location if I'm shopping after dinner. Seems to be a bit of discrimination among sexes. Both interactions with the cashier and front end supervisor (hopefully not manager) left me not even wanting to spend money there. I understand it is a busy time of year but when the attitude of employees changes based on the certain things about the customer, you have to ask yourself why that is. Hopefully these two are just in the wrong field of work and it isn't clearly what it appears to be. Just an awful experience that I'm still thinking about, almost 24 hours later. read more

I'm not a huge Stop & Shop fan. I grew up a Wegman's kid, but I'm lazy and this is close to where I live, so this is my grocery store. I have to say that the Seekonk Stop & Shop is one of the nicer ones in the Providence area. It's usually well stocked, the prices are decent and it's very clean. Additionally, the staff here are really great! I couldn't find a half gallon of apple cider at one point, so I asked an associate. She told me to wait a few minutes, but I told her that I was in a rush and not to worry about it. While I was finishing up my shopping she found me and handed me the half gallon of apple cider! Another time, I was using the self-serve checkout kiosk and one of the associates helped bag my groceries for me and even helped me with inputting the items so that I could check-out faster! (By the way, the check-out lines can get packed on weekends, so definitely use the self-serve check-out for faster service). Lastly, I'm really appreciating the Stop & Shop Go Rewards program. I'm not usually someone who cuts coupons or buys things just because there's a promotion, but this is really simple. You just go online, register your card and get points for each purchase. Then, you can trade them in for discounts each time you're in the store. 100 points = $1 off, and I think you get one point each time you spend a dollar at the store, so it's about a 1% discount. Not much, but it can add up when you do all of your grocery shopping there. read more

I have been going to this Stop and Shop since I was a kid. Could there be bias in this review due to these circumstances? Perhaps, perhaps not. As I said, I have been coming to this location for a number of years... I used to know the place inside and out, compiling my coupons in order of aisle number to easily check out the deals. Such is not the case since their recent renovation but I'm sure I'll get things down again. This large supermarket boasts a number of services within its walls. A Dunkin Donuts (with convenient cup holders on the carriages), Citizen's Bank, and In-Store Pharmacy can all be found within steps of the entrances. Wide aisles direct cart-wielding customers through section upon section of fresh produce, deli items, baked delicacies, seafood and meat shelves, extensive refrigerated/frozen foods, canned and boxed goods, floral arrangements, natural food selections, pet needs, bath and beauty products, and so much more. A Coin-Star machine and can/bottle redemption turns loose change and empty beverages into manageable funds at the register. A RedBox turns simple dinner planning into date nights. I have never been disappointed by the quality or selection of food I come home with. Employees have always been helpful in locating certain harder to find items I need for recipes I pulled offline last minute. Sales and opportunities to rack up gas points play a prevalent role during my time in-store and help keep my wallet full after checking out. Portable scanners are available to make cashing out a speedy process and help keep track of my spending throughout the trip. Beside the awkward layout of the store during their renovations, I really can't think of anything that I don't like about this location. Even the bathrooms are clean and delightfully decorated (an almost rustic, European stonework theme going on). Issues with incorrect pricing are quickly dealt with at the customer service desk... I'll go to S&S over Whole Foods for two reasons: the tissue selection and the international foods isle. Sadly, this market is severely lacking in both! While the S&S on Branch Ave in PVD is great, this one in Seekonk is a little small-ish and sadly skimpy with the exotic foods I so dearly crave. It also felt cramped and ill-lit, so while I did get some of the things I was looking for (laundry detergent, and ok a FEW boxes of tissue), it wasn't an entirely pleasant experience. I was also underwhelmed by their meats selection, and wouldn't go near the seafood counter. Parking was a breeze and I should tell you that the store itself was very clean. read more

Ever since the strike, the prices at this market are unreal. I shouldn't have to pay for workers' health benefits. I'm just buying food. It shouldn't cost me an arm and a leg. Every week everything gets more and more expensive. I don't shop here anymore. The prices are ridiculously high. I go to walmart now. Save myself at least $50 a week. read more

I'm usually a Whole Foods shopper, but this Seekonk Stop & Shop is my go to if I need a quick something and I'm in the area. The natural foods section here is always well stocked and usually has descent sales. In fact, some items can be very cheap - usually about one to two dollars more at Whole Foods or Target. Also, there's a noticeable difference in this location compared to the East Providence location; I won't even go into that one, yikes! This one is in my opinion the best grocery store in the area, cleanest and most convenient. And finally, the staff here is generally very good at their job and friendly, which always makes shopping somewhere a nicer experience! read more

I was in Stop and Shop on 12/5/20 at 10:15am, in the pasta isle shopping for some diced tomatoes. I was right at the end of the isle where there was an arrow leading out of the isle. A Stop and Shop employee, with a cart of grocery bags proceeded to come into the isle forcing me out of her way. I pointed to the arrow on the floor and said "you should not be entering here"! The employee only giggled at me and then stopped her truck and proceeded to shop and fill her orders 1 (one) foot in front of me (WHERE I WAS SHOPPING) not 6 feet away from me. I then said to her loudly "Are you Serious"? and she refused to even acknowledge me any further. So I left the store - on my way out I stopped at the service desk and asked for the name of the on duty manager so I could call once I returned home. I called the store manager (John Amaral) and explained the entire incident to him over the phone. He genuinely seemed surprised and assured me that he would have a Department Manager Huddle to once again discuss the rules and guidelines during the covid pandemic. Because of the seriousness of this pandemic I hope that someone from the Department of Labor Standards also reaches out to the Store Manager to ensure that they will do what is necessary to follow safety measures and CDC guidelines to help keep me, and the rest of the general public safe while picking up needed groceries. read more

The staff here is miserable. They do not respond when you say good morning, don't make eye contact, and are not helpful. They guy who gathers the carts is downright scary. The meat section smells dirty from way across the store. I have put up with this for a long time, now I will be shopping elsewhere. read more

Quality of the produce at this place is horrible! They have commercials on TV bragging about 'local' produce but it has been just getting consistently worse over last few years to the point I barely buy any veggies there. ?? How can it be local?? problems include : Finger imprints, fruit flies, rotten items etc. Lettuce also-bagged kinds are always full of condensation=2days max before its soggy & black. I don't think I've ever been this excited walking into a grocery store. A Dunkin Donuts in the store? Super psyched, I ordered my coffee and began perusing the aisles. The store is huge. The aisles are very wide and you don't have to do the "you go" "oh no you go" routine as you try to move your cart down the aisle. The produce section is large with a good selection. The meat aisle had a lot of variety as well. The store had a lot of cashiers as well as self-checkout lines. We found everything we were looking for quickly and were in and out in a few minutes. In addition, the bathroom was well done and was very clean for a supermarket bathroom. All in all, a great shopping experience! read more

Typical Stop & Shop. A bit better than your usual supermarkets but not exactly your Trader Joes, Whole Foods, or Wegmans. Found what I wanted to make breakfast and salads in the hotel room. They dont have much of a selection for Artisan Breads. Had to resort to getting one with chemical vitamins. Also, the 'healthy' salads all have xantham gum as thickener agent. Had to resort to making my own balsamic with flax seed oil. Its also important to note, no beer sales here. If I remember correctly, its MA and RI law or something. Found most of the workers to be nice and conversational. They assisted me in finding plastic knife/fork in the deli area and helped to key in a store card. They tried to convince me to remember to bring my card to get discounts on gas, but we dont have that in NJ. read more

The produce at this location is leagues better than the Stop and Shop on W River St. Our go-to place for everything that we need. Well stocked throughout most of the week. Store was clean, check out is always quick and easy with friendly service. A bit more chaotic during the weekends, but even then, it's still a pleasant experience. Do not buy produce such as peach's, plum's, plouts, or any other type here. I believe their fruits are frozen when transported because they never ripen, they just rot. I've tried every ripening method there is. Disgusting. I've given this location several chances, but no change. Go to Fruitland on rte 6 (just past Cumberland Farms) for fresh fruit and produce, you will always have good tasty, rip fruits in your refrigerator! S&S use the misters to to keep the veggies fresh, but all it does is encourage the growth of mold and bacteria on the veggys'. I recently bought a small box of fresh Thyme. When I got it home and opened it, there was a pool of water in the container, and all I could smell was mold!!! I've also had good luck with Shaws fruits and veggys. read more

Parking is easy, the store has wide and well-lit aisles, the employees are pleasant, they have a nice produce section, there's a Dunkin' Donuts if you want a coffee, and...and...it's just a supermarket but I like this one above all others in the area. I like this location of S&S. Somehow it just seems cleaner, more organized, and appears to have a better selection of items than the other ones I've been to in the area. I typically only shop here when I'm in the area (usually going to Target, Lowes, and other necessary evils that force me to go to chains). It has a large parking lot that it shares with Home Depot. I would opt to go here over Providence and E. Providence if getting to Seekonk were easier. They tend to have certain organic and natural foods that I can't find at the other locations. Staff is friendly and seem to be more efficient than some of the other stores, as well. read more

While I would prefer to shop at Whole Foods or East Side Market they are both just a bit too expensive for my everyday grocery needs. Though the East Providence S&S is much closer to my house, I make a point to drive a little farther to this one. The produce is always a lot fresher, healthier looking and abundant than it's EP counterpart. This is important to me since the majority of my groceries are from the produce section. The store overall is clean. Since they just redid it a bit a lot of the isles are very roomy now so you can move your cart around others without crashing into them. I try to avoid going to S & S. They are overpriced and I hate the fact they always have some group or person at the doors asking for money. Since there are no good fish markets around here I had to go to S&S to get fish. What happened to service with a smile? Why is the younger guy that runs the fish dept always miserable? Not a friendly experience at all. He always gives the impression that you are disturbing him. I'll go to Castigliego's in Somerset. I'll also pay more $ for groceries at Whole Foods.
