I didn't ask for the tomatoes and onion on the side. I only asked for the dressing they didn't put lettuce or anything that they normally would put on an Italian sub as far as condiments they totally screwed up myself. I didn't realize it until I got home. I live in Marshfield I went to the store in Hanover. It was horrible. I can't believe they screwed it up. That bad. I paid full price. I don't know what else to say. It's may sound like not a big thing but when I go out and order a sub I expect to get all the condiments on the sub I don't expect to have to go home and put it together and especially when most of my condiments were missing well that's all I have to say I won't be going back

I'll start by saying that I used to love Previte's subs, and I've never had an issue with any of…read moretheir cuts of meat on the butcher side. However, their subs at the deli have gone downhill at neck breaking speeds. I picked up two Tom Turkey subs for myself and a co-worker on my lunch break, got back to work, and unwrapped them. What we got instead were two subs, completely overflowing with stuffing, and 2 little thin cuts of turkey resting on top. Oh yeah, and it DID have a snail trail portion of cranberry sauce, buried under the box of Stouffers stove top. If you're looking for a gobbler sub. I'd stay clear from this one....unless wet soggy seasoned bread, stuffed into yet more bread is your thing.

Trader Joe's has a massive fan following I believe, for a very good reason. Their food is fresh…read more Their choices are varied. They have many organic foods. They have a wide wide array of frozen and prepared foods. They have ready to eat foods like salad, salads, and entrées, sandwiches, burritos, and more. The staff is amazingly helpful and friendly. The prices are good, not too high. Some of their foods may be slightly higher than a traditional grocery store, but the quality is far superior I believe. The downside with Trader Joe's is that it is always crowded in the spaces seem to be smaller than some of the other grocery store establishments. I actually enjoy shopping at Trader Joe's because I feel as though I'm getting really nutritious options and a wide array of them. Among the foods that I would recommend there are their ready-made salads because we don't often have time to make our meals the next day for when we go to work. They also have a variety of frozen soups, which are terrific. They have organic tomato roasted red pepper soup, lobster bisque, (my daughter's favorite), tomato feta (one of my favorites), and lemonade chicken orzo! This last soup is my all-time favorite from Trader Joe's. Check out Trader Joe's! We especially like the one that's in Hanover, Massachusetts.

I am such a fan of Big Y-- when we left Western Mass, where Big Y originates from, I was…read moreheartbroken! I love their store brand products, which are of much better quality than most other generic products. Plus, their deli and fresh fried fish were unmatched in my opinion. I was crushed to have to shop elsewhere on the South Shore. And then, a small miracle happened-- Big Y expanded to the South Shore. I was finally able to make a trip over to Kingston within the past few weeks and have decided-- without a doubt-- that I am no longer going to be shopping at my local Shaw's, and will drive the extra distance to shop here. And here's why: 1) I love their produce section. Lots of healthy, fresh, fine quality produce. Displays are neat, clean, well-stocked. Very good representation, lots of variety. 2) their deli hot and cold bar. I love that I can pick up a meal to-go that actually tastes and looks delicious. They have fresh-made sushi (you can watch the chef make it), a hot bar, a wing bar (with other fried appetizer foods), and a salad bar. 3) as I said above, I love the Big Y brand "generic" foods. Their salsa is far better than most branded jarred salsa I've had! You can save money by buying store brand, but you don't sacrifice quality here at Big Y. 4) helpful staff: everyone I've interacted with from produce to seafood to butcher counter are friendly, helpful and most important: knowledgeable. Most grocery stores can't say the same. Their employees just don't care-- these do. 5) fast checkout. Despite long lines the day before Thanksgiving, I didn't wait long to check out. I think that's an excellent representation of their day-to-day. As I said, I was a big fan before, but this Big Y is actually even better than the store I frequented in Western Mass. Check it out for yourself, if you haven't yet. I just can't think of a better grocery store.

If you're brand loyal, you will definitely find this beautifully remodeled Shaw's to be a premium…read moreprice point grocery. Staples often run 20-30% higher than other nearby stores. However, the Shaw's virtual coupon program is extensive and really knocks pricing down to reasonable levels. The produce is well stocked, and kept properly watched (no funky greens in plain sight). Unlike other yelpers, I didn't see any expired goods on the shelves - something I'm very tuned in to thanks to regularly poor experiences at Stop & Shop in Norwell. And it's nice to see a grocery that has more than two checkout lanes open. Plus, there's an in-house Starbucks if you're in to that sort of thing.

Today I got chastised by the checker who grabbed one of my groceries even though she should've seen the obvious gap between orders and only 2 of us in line with empty carts. "Well, you didn't put the bar across!" She says even though the mistake is due to her not paying attention, and obv hating her job. The bagger an old lady, made a big deal out of my asking for paper bags and STILL used plastic around the paper. Then she refused to only give me two bags, putting the paper towels and dish washer pods into another plastic bag. She would not just merge those items into the paper bags even though I told her it was ok. Apparently she thought those items would contaminate my food! Ugh! I had to put them in myself. I will drive across town to Norwell before I go here again!
