Trader Joe's has a massive fan following I believe, for a very good reason. Their food is fresh. Their choices are varied. They have many organic foods. They have a wide wide array of frozen and prepared foods. They have ready to eat foods like salad, salads, and entrées, sandwiches, burritos, and more. The staff is amazingly helpful and friendly. The prices are good, not too high. Some of their foods may be slightly higher than a traditional grocery store, but the quality is far superior I believe. The downside with Trader Joe's is that it is always crowded in the spaces seem to be smaller than some of the other grocery store establishments. I actually enjoy shopping at Trader Joe's because I feel as though I'm getting really nutritious options and a wide array of them. Among the foods that I would recommend there are their ready-made salads because we don't often have time to make our meals the next day for when we go to work. They also have a variety of frozen soups, which are terrific. They have organic tomato roasted red pepper soup, lobster bisque, (my daughter's favorite), tomato feta (one of my favorites), and lemonade chicken orzo! I've been a regular at Trader Joe's Hanover since they first opened the store next to Panera. Shopped there 2-3 times per week. Now that the larger store is just steps away from my apartment building, I can run out for a couple of items and be back within 10 minutes. I do most of my shopping there, except for household items, and know that if something doesn't measure up, full refund, no questions asked. The newer store has a much broader frozen section for prepared dishes and the produce section has also been expanded with new items. They may not always be the cheapest compared to that monstrosity Market Basket, but the ease of shopping and friendly personnel make it worthwhile. And they pack my groceries like Tetris. read more

Everything but the Bagel seasoning is our favorite so I drove to the Hanover location and it was't with the other spices (salt, pepper, etc) so I bought a few other items but left disappointed only to arrive home to be told it is now on isle where you'd never expect to find it where the coconut oil is located. ? I hate myself for going here. There are always too many people in here. I have gone multiple times in the middle of a WEEKDAY and it's always overcrowded. The isles are small and there are always 3 employees hanging out in the ISLE. I don't know what they are doing they are just waiting for people to ask questions? The lingering employees just add to the chaos in already crowded Isle. They also don't seem to have everything you need if you wanted to do weekly shopping for a family. I went here for a lentil mix I love and they don't even sell it anymore. I can't see any reason to go here again. read more

For reasons unknown, I decided to venture a little farther from my usual TJ's in Hingham and visit this location. I mean, hey, I am able to get a review out of it, so why not? This Trader Joe's is on the smaller side of those I've been to, especially as evidenced by their freezer section. Despite its small size and more limited offerings, this store does not fail to deliver with unique and delicious store-brand products and extremely friendly staff. On my visit they were great with helping me pick out some new, interesting cheeses. Another point which this Trader Joe's also shares is its very fresh produce. Didn't catch his name, but my man with an electively bald dome and sweet handlebar 'stache turned the store's inventory upside-down looking for some sweet Christmas morning cinnamon buns. Unfortunately, after raiding every end cap, aisle and backroom, he let me know, "I'm sorry. I lied to you. I can't find any anywhere." What a sad ending. Or was it...? "But I'll tell you, this cinnamon caramel monkey bread is pretty amazing. Warm it for just a few minutes, and man..." *chef's kiss* "That's some good stuff." A moderate ending. But wait! "Here. Take this one on me. I promise you'll like it." So, he gave me a product because they were simply out of another product I wanted. And you know what? That monkey bread is killer. Customer service above and beyond gets a bonus star. Along with that crazy good carrot ginger miso salad dressing, but hey, that's everyJoe's. Seriously, props to Sweet 'Stache Bro. Great finds - veggie birds nests, orange chicken, veg egg rolls, fried rice - all for an easy Friday night! Loved the chocolate croissants though wish i could have found frozen plain (only almond) croissants but none to be seen! Went during the afternoon before schools got out and place was very easy to navigate. Highly recommend! read more

I never take the time to write a review but it's necessary for what I experienced today. Visiting this Trader Joe's was honestly the highlight of my day. I went with my two almost 3-year-olds and was soon after approached by an employee asking if I wanted a cookie-making-set. It was their last one and she wanted to gift it to us. At the checkout, our cashier went out of her way to give the kids stickers and lollipops and wish us all a Happy Thanksgiving. On the way out my daughter's stickers flew in the air and the cart employee rushed to get them. Their employees are top notch and their kind gestures are above and beyond. Obviously the products speak for themselves (great quality) but the employees make the company and helped make my day a little more enjoyable and easier. read more

Trader Joe's is a fabulous company in general. Until just recently, I barely ever went there as I hadn't entirely scoped out there store before and had just run in fast for something specific. If you don't shop Trader Joe's frequently, I HIGHLY suggest giving it a shot. It's a decent store in general, that is filled with some of the best deals for their brands of common items. Everything is given a "Trader Joe's name" and is repackaged on the shelf with a lower price. Sure, for large families (or even small families), completing the entirety of grocery shopping may not be feasible or possible, in many cases, it's a good stock up spot for stuff like snacks, ice cream, baked goods, and even some produce. Even sunscreen, vitamins and other such supplies are the best price around. In general, Trader Joe's seems to be sort of a secret. Even though it does get busy (especially this location), few people still seem to have caught onto the fabulous chain. If you get a chance, definitely make a point to stop in here one day when you are at the Hanover Mall. It's across the parking from the actual mall next to Panera, which may be inconvenient for the few "mall shoppers" (not much of a mall here anyways); however, they include there own parking lot and space, which is a large benefit for most. Staff are friendly and in general the store seems to be kept well organized and clean. 4 stars. read more

I just got home from Trader Joe's in Hanover with my husband. I have kidney disease and I'm compromised and we had called to see if I could shop early and they said of course. We showed up today and had a great experience. We have been doing instacart but I really wanted to shop myself. The store is clean, organized and extremely well stocked. Going out right now causes a bit of anxiety for me and I have to say this was such a great experience. Dave, the store manager, helped my husband with our carts and was so kind. Our family loves this store! Today this love was rewarded in an extremely simple yet profound way. My wife was with our son at the check out. The cashier who also happens to be the store manager asked my son how old he was, my wife repeated question adding how old will you be Monday. The manager upon hearing Monday would be my sons birthday proceeded to ask my son what his favorite thing in the store. He gave my son his favorite lollipops and took the time to write a happy birthday message on top of container. This simple act has made his day. When Trader Joes first came in I thought it was a great thing. But after some time I really feel the prepped food is not that great. I've tried various things and came away knowing that I could have done better. So despite all the advertising and cute names, it's a good quick hit market but don't count on it for anything outstanding from the premade section. The rest is great. I love the goat cheese etc. so I buy what I need to make things from scratch (certainly NOT what the Hanover mommies want to do). The staff is outstanding. I always thought of Trader Joe's as a moderately less expensive Whole Foods, when I should have been thinking of them as a Whole New Thing. Yes, the store is small. Yes, the store is crowded. Always. Unless there's a Patriots game on. And yes, the selection is great, as are the prices, and the staff are terrific. They have excellent options for those who don't eat meat, and for those who like the convenience of frozen foods; if you buy cases of sparkling water, you can call ahead and they'll put them aside for you to save you the time of emptying their shelves; fresh flowers are always affordable, even on Valentine's Day; and their staff are always willing to answer your inane questions, like, "when will you have pumpkin ravioli back in stock?" and, "Is Cookie Butter really just Trader Joe's attempt at making America fatter?" I am a huge TJ's fan - the frozen food section alone is worth a look and I am a coconut oil devotee and they have the lowest price anywhere for organic virgin oil. The staff is always friendly and helpful regardless of how crazy busy they are. All four stars are well earned. The only negative are the customers at this particular location. I can deal with a busy crowded store - hey we are all here because the place is great! What I have an issue with is the rude, impatient, put upon attitudes I tend to encounter at this store. This Trader Joe's location is on the smaller side. If you're short on patience, save yourself the aggravation and come back on a day when the line out the door isn't too long. Employees were very polite and efficient in trying to keep the flow of people moving thru. However, it was sometimes a challenge maintaining social distance given the cramped quarters in the store. Store was well stocked on the day I was there and checkout was fast and friendly. I did hear someone coughing multiple times while in the store. I understand if you have to cough, you have to cough but it's always cringe-worthy when in a store now to hear someone coughing multiple times. Stay home if you're sick! read more

I frequent this place *often.* By often I mean enough that I could practically shop the place in a blindfold and know which cashier has the best little samples. :) People had been telling me about this "Trader Joes" in the city and Metrowest and now that I've been going since it opened on the South Shore, I'm hooked. The veggies, like Whole Foods, are just far superior (without the Whole Foods prices). They have the perfect mix of useful, everyday foods as well as some kitschy, fun, interesting things...which I love! The cuts of meat are worth the money as they are fresh, with most pre-seasoned and delicious. If I didn't know any better, I'd think they made me an excellent cook! I honestly have to say that the best part of Trader Joes is that for those always in the hunt for a smaller waistline, you can shop without feeling too tempted. They don't sell soda, which is great for me (if I didn't know any better, I'd think Diet Coke was a legalized drug) and the junk-type food is far outweighted by the cool, different fresh options... well, except the chocolate almond bark. That usually doesn't even make it out of the car. I do wish they'd round out their selection so I wouldn't have to shop somewhere else for the paper goods, etc. That stuff is just way too expensive there, but I know they're trying to uphold their earthy-crunchy image. 100% recycled toilet paper (that honestly looks like it has splinters in it) just doesn't do it for me though. read more

For those bemoaning the lack of wine at Trader Joe's, that one should be pinned on the voters of Massachusetts, and not the good people at TJs. Massachusetts blue laws don't allow grocers such as TJs and Whole Foods to sell alcohol, and we had a chance to overturn this law a few years back and we voted against it, mostly because we're a bunch of idiots who want to stop at 2 stores instead of 1. Anyway, this is a good specialty grocer with a lot of great stuff. I am a big fan of the wide variety of nuts/trail mix/dried fruit they offer. You can't really do all of your grocery shopping here, which is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. Most of your meat and produce need to be bought elsewhere. H-Town could always use more variety and having a Trader Joe's here is a great thing. read more

What they lack in produce, *and meat, but I would really never think of Trader Joe's as a primary source for steaks and burgers, but come to think of it, they do have a nice variety of chicken/ turkey sausages. Anywho...* they MORE than make up for with their frozen foods section. International (Indian, Thai, Mexican, Chinese, etc) convenience foods, seafood (salmon burgers, crabcakes, frozen "fresh" fish), better-than-supermarket-tasting veggies, desserts (some pretty unique), etc. Their frozen stuff just always tastes fresher, tastier and cleaner *better for you* than the bigger supermarket counterparts. And really, no more expensive, too. The rest of the store is great, too. They have these really yummy soups that come in resealable cardboard cartons, great coffee, a nice international cheese section, a bunch of sauces (pasta and curries, marinades, dressings) and oh heavens, I could go on on and on... Great selection of a variety of organic, vegetarian, and other good for you stuff. Overall, very good prices, especially for the quality. Nice cut flower section, orchids in pots, teeny cacti in adorable ceramic pots, 99 cent cards *great for a card emergency!*. Love this store. *And the people are always so helpful and nice.* *Oh, and you get entered in a drawing for a gift certificate if you use your own bag. What's cooler than that? When I first discovered TJ's, I was giddy - frozen brown rice! Cheap, yummy bread! 2 buck chuck! Fancy European chocolates! But over the years, the allure has faded. There are still a lot of things to love - the greek yogurt, the bread, etc. But a lot of their store-brand products are just not that great. There's a tendency for their jarred sauces, for instance, to be sort of bland. And it's really frustrating the way they rotate products with no seeming rhyme or reason. Where's my Thai Lemongrass Curry? Also, this location is really not that great. The one in Cambridge is much better, and they somehow managed to stock wine and beer. read more

I need to give a shout out to the customer service at Trader Joes in Hanover! Every time I have entered this location the staff is SO helpful and friendly. The last time I visited, the girl who rang me up-Chelsea-was so friendly, helpful and had such a pleasant demeanor. I left that day feeling on top of the world! Normally I hate when people comment on the food I'm purchasing, but somehow at Trader Joes they all seem to have such a passion and such support for what they do that I always value their opinions and comments on my purchases. Really, I haven't reviewed this already? I wish I could make this my one-stop food shopping, though it is my default. The staff here is awesome, the selection pretty good, though the fresher stuff--like beef and fish--is less predictable. Fruits and veggies are also more seasonal, though they stock up on the staples (apples, oranges, potatoes, onions, peppers, etc.) Thanks to the samples, my kids have willingly tried new things they would be difficult about with me. The prices are noticeably less for name brands (like Annie's mac & cheese) that cost more at Stop & Shop or Shaw's. It does get pretty crazy here on the weekends, so plan accordingly. read more

Make sure you read the expiration date on fresh foods!!!!! Most of their food is expired! I'm serious. I had to return oranges, limes, sweet peas, spinach, and pineapple. For the Pirate Booty lovers; the Corn Puffs are tasty and are 1.99 . Saving money like a champ! :) I love buying frozen pineapple and French Vanilla yogurt to make smoothies at home! Turns out yummy! I'm not a earthy,crunchy type at all. I'm actually the complete opposite so when I went here with my girlfriend who's on crutches right now I was not looking forward to going into a packed organic foods store Trader Joe's on a Sunday afternoon full of Bernie supporters. But I recognize kindness and good service when I see it. Alexis our cashier was great she not only offered to help my girlfriend on her crutches while she retrieved her money but answered all our questions and was very fast yet professional checking us out with our purchase. I saw her unfairly criticized for "not thinking of the customer" right in front of us by what looked like a floor manger. Even if she was it should not be done in front of customers. Even after the rude criticism of the manager she still bid us a fair well with a big smile. read more

This one is a lot less cramped then some other Trader Joe's. Plus since it's by the Hanover Mall there is plenty of parking ( another problem with TJs). Great selection and friendly staff as usual. Produce was really fresh and pretty inexpensive. read more

For someone on the lookout for trendy or unique non-GMO foods with no artificial additives at a much better value than Whole Foods, this is a business worth checking out. There are snacks, frozen foods, lots of produce, cereals, a large variety of bread, and so on from all around the world both imported and domestically imitated, often with some adventurous flavors available; eco-friendly detergents and hygenic products, all at costs competitive to the likes of Shaw's and Stop & Shop for similar goods. They can even give a list on request of products they stock which accomodate special diets and lifestyles and are more than happy to help you find what you need. The items lack artificial preservatives and must be consumed quicker than their standard supermarket cousins. They kindly offer a free sample of food to anyone who is interested, and the sample is different every day. The store is also very clean, stylish, and generally on top of removing expired goods. The reason I rate this specific location lower despite it being great and clean is because it gets so overcrowded and claustrophobic at peak hours, worse than any supermarket I have ever been to. There is nothing that can be done about this because the building is too small to comfortably accomodate this many shoppers and it becomes difficult to shop, so plan to go at a time when most people are working or go early. read more

I LOVE Trader Joe's! However the one in Hanover is horrible! The fruits and veggies always look bad, it's always busy and they never have any of the good stuff!
