Fast service. Funny, I never get my gas here, but I like this station. Like most Mobils, gas tends…read moreto be a bit more expensive than others. Of course, being in the middle of Coolidge Corner in Brookline must also drive up the price. Probably one of the most expensive gas stations outside of downtown Boston. Why would I come here then? Because they still offer state inspections at a pretty standard price. It is always the same guys that are inside. They have always been kind and like to joke around. I have seen a few repeat customers who are friendly with the attendant. If no one else is in line, the inspection only takes about 10-15 min. The mechanic always seems to be there, at least during the day time. They have you park your car to the right where there's a bunch of tandem parking, give the guy inside your registration and key, and then either hangout or walk around Coolidge Corner. There really isn't a waiting area. There is a chair next to a stack of lotto papers and a wooden bench outside. From what I can tell, it seems like they just check that all the lights work, no warning lights on, and the emissions. They have never come to me with pointless repairs or any extras. Maybe they are one of the more trustworthy auto shops around here or maybe they just don't bother because they don't seem to do much auto work here (it is primary a gas station and the garage only fits two cars). I don't think I've ever seen them working on a car besides doing an inspection. Basically, it's close to home and it's as cheap and fast as I expect them to be.

What began as a routine annual inspection turned into an unexpectedly unpleasant encounter with the…read moreowner. I had left my Kindle tablet on the front passenger seat before my car was brought into the bay. Less than 20 minutes later, the inspection was complete--everything seemed fine until I noticed the Kindle was no longer where I left it. When I asked the attendant if they had moved it, he quickly brushed me off, saying, "It's there somewhere. We didn't take it." The owner then jumped in, immediately defensive and raising his voice: "We're not thieves here! Check your car--it's there!" Sure enough, I found the Kindle in the back seat. This could have been easily resolved with a calm explanation instead of shouting at a customer. But it didn't stop there. The owner continued yelling, "And don't go on Google saying we're thieves!" I replied, "I'll definitely mention your attitude." He shot back, "That's fine. I've been in this business 33 years--I'll just respond to your review saying you discriminate." I'm not sure where that came from, but okay. Interestingly, this wasn't my first negative interaction with this same person--I experienced similar rudeness about a year ago but decided to give them another chance. Big mistake. It's now confirmed: these are some of the most unpleasant people to deal with in Brookline. Avoid this place if you value your time, your peace of mind, or simply a respectful interaction. Looking at the other reviews, it seems I'm not the only one who's dealt with this kind of rude treatment here. Sometimes, the warning signs are right there--you just have to pay attention and stay away.

We have used a few auto repair places in the past, but for the last 15 years, we will only go to JD…read moreAuto Repair because they are the only place that: 1. Has friendly and caring owners (John and Costas) who really care about serving their customers. 2. Have fair prices and even under-charge sometimes (like recently when we found mice eating through the wire of one of our cars). They are sensitive to price for their customers, which makes a difference for people like us with some older cars. 3. They will always see us last minute and in an emergency. As a woman, I feel safe working with these men because I know they will treat me with respect and not price gauge me. They also always take the time to explain what is going on with the car, in lay-person language, given that I don't know much about cars. If I could give them 10 stars, I would!

I've recommended this shop to friends and family in the past, and that is exactly why this review…read morehurts to write. A friend of mine dropped her vehicle off for diagnosis. I personally filled out the contact form with her name, phone number, and address. No repair authorization was given. No estimate was approved. The shop never contacted her that day. At the end of the day, she had to call them herself and was told they were closing and would contact her the following morning. The next day, she was informed that approximately $1,740 worth of repairs had already been completed and that she would need to pay the bill to get her vehicle back. Let me be clear: this review is not about whether the repairs were necessary. It is not about the quality of the work. It is about performing major repair work without first obtaining authorization from the customer. When I spoke directly with the owner, his position was essentially that the car needed the work, so they fixed it and the customer should be happy. I strongly disagree. A customer has the right to decide whether to spend $1,740, seek a second opinion, postpone the repair, or make other arrangements. That decision belongs to the customer, not the repair shop. What made the situation worse was the complete unwillingness to work with her afterward. She was forced to borrow money to pay the unexpected bill. Despite the circumstances, no discount was offered, no payment plan was offered, and no accommodation was made. The position was simply: pay the full amount or do not get the vehicle back. I've trusted this shop in the past. I've sent business their way. After this experience, I cannot recommend them to anyone, nor can I trust them with my own vehicle going forward. If you use this shop, make absolutely sure you have a clear understanding, in writing, of what work may be performed and what dollar amount has been authorized before leaving your vehicle.

(plain glazed, hazelnut(?), blueberry cake, and apple fritter) -So many amazing Cumberland farms brand treats (ice cream, brownies, candy, etc.) -Beautifully renovated Cons: -Dangerous to have this much ice cream, donuts, and baked treats available at almost all times -- Hazelnut(?) Donut ($0.99) Plain yeast donut fully covered in hazelnutty-chocolate spread and topped with chopped hazelnuts. There is only a slight "Nutella" flavor, but this donut felt very light and it was also really fun to eat a donut fully covered in a hard chocolate layer. Plain Donut ($0.99) Plain glazed(?) yeast donut. This donut had a strange texture: kind of dry on the inside but almost gummy on the outside. There was no noticeable glaze and it wasn't very sweet. I didn't hate it, but wouldn't get it again. Chocolate Bundt Cake Found in the bakery case. The texture of this cake was so soft it was almost like mousse--literally fell apart in my hands. Loved the texture but the flavor mainly tasted like sugar. I think 7-11 might have a slight edge with ice cream flavors and speed at which they put out new treats, but CF is a VERY strong contender.

I purchased two cartons of oat milk and saw some candy I wanted at the front! Buy one get one. Unfortunately, in order to get that deal, you have to sign up for a loyalty card with your phone number, something not advertised on the signage. So I decided not to purchase it! I'm the opposite of happy with stores that have these kinds of policies. That being said, again, the staff was delightful, and this was just an unfortunate wrinkle in corporate policy that overshadowed an otherwise positive experience. Re: the response by corporate: LMAO
