Worst acrylic set ever. I just moved to the area and have been looking at reviews for salons for weeks. I finally found Stop 4 Nails in Renton. Good reviews. The work looked good in the pictures posted and everything was recent. I will admit it was my mistake for not specifically asking for someone that had been well reviewed. However, the girl that did my full acrylic set with gel polish ($40) should NOT be doing nails! All nails are different shapes, thickness and length! I happen to watch the face of her client before me. I mistook the client for having a serious case of resting bitch face. Now I realize that she was probably really unhappy with the work being done on her. Also, the woman who appeared to be the owner told me they had matching gel colors for the regular polish. I went to Stop 4 Nails yesterday during my lunch break - was having a bad day and wanted to do something nice for myself. When I called, I explained that I have a short amount of time and asked if they had anyone available at that very moment. They obliged and said come on in. First impression: Clean salon - very nice, professional set up. Greeted with a smile. * I was immediately taken in by Julie and I showed her a picture of what I wanted done. She took a quick look and said "Ok" She got to work right away (I had my daughter with me) *& was very polite to both myself and my impatient 4 year old. While she was busy with me I asked if there was any way that my daughter could get a quick polish and she said SURE!. She called someone over who allowed my daughter to pick her own color (Pink of course) and went to work, She polished Lauryn's nails and had her dry them in front of the fan - she felt like such a big girl. :) She only charged us $3 for her polish :) I swear I looked away for a few minutes and Julie was halfway done. She is quick but meticulous - you can tell that she is really good at what she does. I got a full set with a colored tips - she executed the design FLAWLESSLY! I am SOOOO happy with the results! Pedicures here only cost about $20 and acrylic nail services are less than what you normally pay at other salons. The nail tables and pedicure chairs are what impressed me the most. You will find granite covered tables and new massage chairs that add that extra touch to the service. And like I mentioned earlier, it is CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN. I was loving my acrylic nail color. The woman doing them tells me that my nails are dry & everything was good. I go to put my shoes on, and the paint is still wet! So I'm like wtf? The woman says that she'll fix them for me, and I was very appreciative of that. She fixes them, and I sit for about 10 minutes to let them dry again. After that ended, I'm like, I know FOR SURE that they're dry now. I open my purse to move a card, and the corner of the card scratches my nail to where it gets messed up AGAIN. I've never had such an issue with matte before, so I don't know if they were in a hurry to keep the line going or what, but I'm not sure if I'll be back. read more

Disappointed with the lack of dipping powder (shellac, SNS, whatever you want to call it) they were unable to do a pink fill on my pink and white ombré because they don't have pink and so I chose to simply do an acrylic fill with a neutral gel polish. That was yesterday, today all the gel polish on my thumb nail has peeled off and I can't help but think it was because of the super rush job the girl did. She didn't even let my nails cure fully with each cycle, she would unplug the light and make me switch hands before the timer was done. This is my #1 nail salon!! After trying about 5 places, this one was recommended to me and I've not ever looked anywhere else. I'm big on nail art and Jennifer does an AMAZING job. The nail polish selection is lacking.. lots of glitter but not much for basics .. so bring your own if you can. They only let you tip in cash.. so even if you charge off the bill.. remember to bring a few bucks to tip the hardworking women. Watching what was going on, I felt they were more concerned about getting customers in/out as fast as they can. I noticed they don't properly disinfect the bowl and jets between each customer. I guess they don't realize that using the towels they just used on your feet is not the proper way to disinfect the bowl and jets. They use a hand-held cheese grater when scraping the bottom of your feet which I am told this is a no-no. I found it very noisy with all the women yammering in their native language and felt it got louder as they each tried and talk over each other. My favorite nail place! Sometimes I think I can try a new place that would be better than stop 4 nails but I always come back. If you like doing almond/oval nails definitely go to Jaida. I will never get my acrylics done by anyone else ever again. I've gotten pedis from multiple different people and they're all pretty good. I've been going to this place ever since they opened 5 years ago on Rainier Ave. This is seriously the best nail salon ever!!! Old shop burned down and this is the brand new one. They had more people working at the old shop but only kept the best nail techs. for the new shop. So everybody is amazing. You can call in ahead for appts. or you can walk in. I went here to get a manicure and pedicure done for a wedding I went to. The service is good, and they do walk ins, which is very nice. I always ask them to do artwork on my nails, because it's so cute and I am always amazed at what they can draw on your nail with a toothpick. Price is good. I use to go to this shop for two years and Thuy would be the reason why. She was always so nice and helpful. But this last experience I had really ( not with thuy, but another employee) got me VERY upset. I went in to get french shellac and pedicure and had an appointment made prior to coming in. 1) Even though I had an appt, I was not seen for the scheduled time. 2) The ladies who were helping me were in a rush because it was almost time to close 3) I still tipped $15.00, YES 15, ON TOP OF MY ORIGINAL COST FOR SERVICE because two of them were helping me so we could get done. I always give credit where it is due. That same night I noticed my shellac was already cracking and the french tip was not perfect so I wanted to go in to get it fixed. I am usually not picky, but I was going to a wedding the following night so I was esp since I spent so much money. So I went in to get it fixed the next day... HERE IS THE PROBLEM 1) The lady who looked at my nails denied something was really wrong, when you could clearly see it. 2) She directed me to the available person to help me fix it, who also gave me a look because I basically was just coming to get it fixed no new service.. 3) The lady who looked at my nails at the beginning, went around to the other nail specialists who work there and talked SHIT about me coming in to get it fixed. It was clear she was because she was looking at me, using her hands to show what finger it was and why I came in. It was so DISRESPECTFUL and RUDE. The fact that they speak in their language is not a problem but if you are having full length conversations with other workers in your language, and you are helping a customer is that really giving your undivided attention and providing good service? I usually don't mind but the fact that I had this bad experience and she was walking around talking about me was not right. I remained to the bigger person and let it slide but that was the last time I went there. I found another great salon who gives their customers full attention and they are worth my money. If I tip you well every time and I come in as a regular, if something is wrong with my nails I would expect them to fix it with a smile on their face and not be talking shit. This experience really ended my relationship with them and I am happy to take my business somewhere else now, who appreciates their customers and doesn't talk shit about their customers. I am not going to say if you should go or not that is your choice but I am just giving my own experience. The two years I went I knew they would talk about the customers but I let it slide because they did a great job on my nails. But this time they did a poor job and gave me bad service. I went here for a mani/pedi and was thoroughly disappointed. The lady I had was inattentive, having side conversations with other staff members about what purse they should purchase. I had to ask for nail strengthener and foot nail polish, things which I believe should be offered. The most attention I received the entire time was at the end when it was time for her tip.
