Nice cozy dinner spot on a cold April night. We had dinner reservations for 8 and were seated right away towards the back next to their display cases with fancy decanters of liquor- a whole wall of them- impressive! Despite being an "Irish" Grill I got the feeling that it had an Italian side too. Nothing wrong with that! Nice beer selection- I had an IPA followed by a Blueberry Blonde draft. Of course they had Guinness! I had the Jersey Joe sandwich- plenty of roast beef and melted Swiss on a roll with a side of au jus. Their take on a French dip- it was filling and excellent. Others in our party ordered the Chicken Parm- a massive dish with a side of pasta and garlic bread. My bro had the Piled high Shepherds Pie- it looked good. Other bro had the Ciappino (sp.?). Everything looked great. Good place to hit for a variety of Irish, Italian and other comfort foods.

Big portions, but nothing phenomenal. Very slow service on a Friday night. The highlight was the Reuben balls, which were crispy with a fantastic thousand island dipping sauce. I had the marinara haddock which was watery and undercooked. The portion was huge; enough for two or three people and came with overcooked and over-oiled vegetables. Reasonable prices, but I was quite underwhelmed.

Irish Cannonballs - I liked these, especially after they sat for a bit

This place gets an extra star for atmosphere, if I am being totally honest. But the food and drinks are also good, although a bit pricey (and the prices on the menu were not up to date by a dollar for each item we ordered). They also charge for soda refills (but I stuck with water anyway). However, I wasn't really mad because the service was so friendly and homey, and the food was still good. My husband and I shared a Jersey Joe. It was good, but I didn't really taste the horseradish. My husband enjoyed it a lot, though, and the fries were very good. We also shared Irish Cannonballs. Those were really good; my husband was a huge fan. All in all, the food is not the best I have ever had, but it's good and the atmosphere is special.

Came here with the boys on a Saturday night, as saturdays are typically for the boys. The lovely atmosphere was only made better by the somewhat talented group of singers who sang hits from "Ticket to Ride" to the lion king theme song. The food, while had massive proportions and tasted good, was not reflective of the prices online at all, some by $3! What perhaps let the night down was the service... the place was not crowded at all, but we waited a whopping 1 hour and 16 minutes and 63 seconds for the food. I was "shooketh" as you could say. We only ordered 4 dishes! Hunker down and perhaps bring some light reading as you'll be waiting awhile.

Decided to check out this Irish pub after so long and was pleasantly surprised. The place was decorated for Halloween and the walls were adorned with the 37 years of history behind the pub. The menu was a diverse and actually very impressive for such an unassuming place. There are a number of beers on tap and the staff was professional and friendly. I'll definitely be frequenting this local delight in the future.

This is where all the action is!

This is a regular for us... They have Lambrusco, my wine of choice and a large menu to choose from. Some days better then others on food.

Recently planned a get together with some former coworkers. Needed a place to meet up. When I…read moregoogled, "good cheap eats in Schenectady," the 20 North Broadway Tavern topped the short list. Done. It was an instant hit. I wanted the pastrami sandwich pictured on the website. Turns out, it was every bit as good as it looked. Probably the best I've had in the Capital Region. I think it came with coleslaw but they let me switch it for a small salad. The beer was cold. The server/ bartender was both friendly and efficient. The food came up relatively quickly. I was relieved and delighted. The tavern has just the right look. It's cute from the outside with nice signage. Inside, the lighting is dim-- especially at night--with the feel of a cool dive bar. If you want a more festive setting during the summer, there's outdoor seating complete with hanging string lights. That actually looked very inviting but my friends chose to stay indoors due to the threat of rain. As we prepared to leave, my friends were wondering why they hadn't been to the tavern before. One thing for sure is that we'll be back for more "good cheap eats" and great beer.

Crystal made sure our drinks were always full and we exchanged stories and laughter about living in Florida. I wish we had a local place like the River Road House where we live, love that local feel! The steaks, burgers, quesadilla's, and chicken salad were all fantastic. Highly recommend stopping by for a beer, some great food, all in a low key and down to earth little restaurant. And..as a side note, the ladies room was so clean! That is so appreciated! Thank you Crystal and all the staff at River Road House!

After a wonderful first experience at River Road House, we were looking forward to visiting again…read morefor lunch. Unfortunately, this visit didn't match the high bar that was previously set. I still really like this place, but the service was way off on this particular day, even though they were not busy. We ordered three Road House Burgers, two with sweet potatoes fries, and one with regular fries. We were only served one burger w/ sweet potato fries, but we were charged $3 extra for each burger! And one burger was missing bacon. The amount of blue cheese crumbles and caramelized onions was minuscule. The burger patties themselves are unseasoned, so the toppings are key. Overall, it's a decent burger and I like their fries, but it's hard to overlook the mistakes with our ordering, especially when we were overcharged because of it.
