Between the two, the risotto was the standout - rich, comforting, and full of flavor. The pappardelle was more al dente than I prefer and the sauce leaned a bit oily, though I suspect that may have been influenced by the kitchen honoring our request to eat quickly. Either way, the ingredients tasted farm-fresh, the space itself is a modern gem tucked into old town, and the staff was warm, attentive, and professional throughout. I'd absolutely return and try another dish. This is a place worth revisiting.

We had the two specials: my wife had the rib eye steak and I had the cioppino. The steak was served with a blue cheese butter, asparagus and mashed potatoes. The steak was so tender you could cut it with a fork. Truly delicious. I like to think of myself as a cioppino snob as it is one of my favorite meals and I've had it at restaurants all over the world. I must say Carson's recipe is superb. His broth has subtle flavors of tarragon and fennel. He adds sole, blue crab and shrimp for the protein. It's truly outstanding and one the best I've had. Jolie is not only the hostess, but also the waitress and pastry chef. She's charming and really fun to talk to. She let us sample some of the full-bodied red wines as well as a nice Petite Syrah. She also enticed us to try her peanut butter shortbread dessert. It melted in your mouth. The restaurant decor is charming and cozy. It makes for a very intimate setting and Jolie and Carson makes it feel like your having dinner with good friends. Still the best restaurant in Grants Pass. We didn't know we were walking in 5 minutes before closing, and would have completely understood if we'd been turned away. But the lone waitress, Vanessa, welcomed us in with a smile. Vanessa, whose personality sparkled as much as her glittery makeup, was an absolute delight and SO funny. She's the kind of small town waitress you read about in the great American novel. The one you remember years after the meal is over. The food was delicious and hand-delivered to our table by the chef and was devoured by us all. Next time we're passing through Oregon, we'll make it a point to eat here again. McGrew's is a real diamond in the rough.

Once you get off the boat it is a short walk up a hill to get to the restaurant. They also have transportation for those who need it. It is all outside seating with beautiful views. I loved the look of the restaurant with all the wood and open air. You wait in a short line to be seated at your reserved table. The tables seat 12 people. We were a party of 14 so were split up but they did put us close together. They have high chairs for the little ones if you need. There were drinks (ice tea and lemonade) already on the table which was great because we were thirsty from the boat ride. The servers quickly brought out biscuits, corn bread and salad. The salad was very good with their homemade honey mustard dressing. Shortly after that came bbq chicken and potato salad followed by berry cobbler that was more like a crisp. The food was ok. Nothing special. It is all you can eat so if you need more just ask. Be sure to use the restroom before the long ride back up the Rogue. We had time to put our feet in the river for a few before it was time to board the boat for the trip back.

This time, the name Roan came up more than once as an outstanding server. And to our happy surprise, we were seated in Roan's area. What a sparkly personality and delightful person she is. Our whole experience was 10/10. The amazing food, ambiance, and service were all perfection! Thanks Roan, and all the Twisted Cork staff, for a delightful evening!

We went for lunch to try it out and enjoyed the small and larger dishes too. My favorite was the Mie Goreng with beef and the crab cheese puffs. The best part though was the lovely waiter, (the receipt said his name was Gede) who was so sweet and friendly!
