This was our first visit to this Stonefire Grill location. We arrived at high noon, and the place was packed. I was a little concerned, due to the fact that we were on a tight schedule as always. As a result of the staff's efficiency, our wait in line to order was very reasonable. While waiting in line to order, a staff member approached, asked us for our names, and then placed a placard at a table.......pretty awesome. I am sure we have all been to an eatery where you order your food and then look for a table, which can be frustrating. This certainly was not the case at Stonefire Grill. Not surprisingly, I went overboard while ordering. I ordered a large macaroni and cheese, a Greek salad, BBQ chicken, and a tri tip meal that came with garlic (real garlic) mashed potatoes. Moments later, I was greeted by a staff member with a Jolly Green Giant portion of macaroni and cheese. I did not realize how large a large really was. I made the best of it and dug in. Each item we ordered was delicious. The staff was knowledgeable, helpful, professional, and attentive to our needs. It is a clear reflection on the management and organization when employees do such a great job. We cannot wait to go back! read more

First things first...bring a jacket if you are going to sit inside because they keep this place COLD! It sort of between fast food and sit down. You order at the counter then go choose a table. You have to get your own silverware and plates and drinks. Food is 3 stars but just barely... Really 2.5 stars. Will run you 12 bucks per person. Hi Justin, I have no idea of how to private message you off the back of my review...I am glad to hear the temperature got sorted so quickly. For me personally the issues on this visit were the normally great breadsticks were very dry and had almost zero garlic/Parmesan on them... Maybe we got a bad batch. The croutons are very generic in the Caesar salad and clearly come from a box.... This could be sooooo much better but again this is just one persons opinion . read more

Michael gave us the homie hookup, so this place gets 5 stars. - - a m b i e n c e - - i don't really know how to explain this restaurant, other than being sorta like corner bakery, where you order first and then they bring out the food to you. there's definitely a lot of things to order from the menu, so it can get overwhelming. the layout and feel sorta gives the impression of a western-styled theme. - - s e r v i c e - - michael was helping us at the front the night that we came in. we were going to order two separate 1/4lb tri-tip meals, but he said that for ONE PENNY MORE, we could get double the tri-tip, and all the sides/things we originally got for the two separate meals. obviously, we were sold. - - f o o d - - [ tri-tip meal for two ] this meal comes with a pound of tri-tip (you're able to choose one of two flavors, but we opted for half of each). my personal favorite was the butter one (not the bbq rub). you also get four breadsticks, a caesar salad, and one side. [ breadsticks ] i loved the breadsticks! the rub/spread that they put on the bread was so good! it had some herbs on it and it wasn't overwhelming at all. [ caesar salad ] thoroughly enjoyed the caesar salad. it was pretty drenched in the dressing, but i didn't mind. the croutons were super crunchy and everything tasted fresh. - - self service - - i like that they have the bbq sauce on the side so you can grab as much as you'd like. there's also utensils and plates for you to grab as well. also, there are to-go boxes in this little section so you don't have to ask the front for anything. read more

This is always a good place to grab food for the family. They have good portions to share and I've never been disappointed with the food. We usually get a pizza with the tri tip and a salad to keep everyone happy. Planning on trying more thing the more we go read more

I ordered $140 worth of food.. primary tri tip ordered medium rare... after waiting outside in the heat for good amount of time and no yellow vest curbside attendant attempting to assist me I went inside to pick up my order... only to be met with disappointment. Both the whole tri tip and tri tip for two... which apparently is two toddlers based on the 6 tiny cuts... cooked well done. If I wanted burnt meat for my family's emergency lunch.... I would have asked my ex to whip something up... Poor customer service and waste of money...thanks for nothing read more

I don't understand what the complain is with the other people are all about. Maybe read the menu and understand what you are getting? I have ordered food here more than 20 times in the past, never once was my order wrong, it is always on time and whenever I pick up someone always jumps to help me at the take out side. read more

Got a large feast meal from here for Christmas Eve dinner for my family of 9. They were so efficient and there was sooo much food. Everyone loved it. Got 2 whole chickens, ribs, tri tip, pasta, mashed potatoes and breadsticks. Was defiling enough for everyone to have seconds and leftovers for days. Need to come back and try their regular portion meals. Delicious and ready on time. read more

First time here, and it was quite tasty. I love roasted cauliflower, so I was intrigued to see "roasted cauliflower with meat sauce" on the menu as a pasta alternative. It was a little different than I expected (a lot of cheese and barely any meat), but that was ok. The cauliflower was sort of al dente, which is ok; I might have preferred it to be roasted just a little tad longer to be just a little bit softer, but I would still order it again. The staff was friendly, and the food came out promptly. I would return to Stonefire. read more

What a hidden jewel in Irvine! I found them when browsing on Yelp with a hungry stomach that was craving for bbq. I got there around 6-7 with my husband and we got surprised by how they work! It's actually like a Chipotle where you order first, pay, grab a seat and someone will bring your food to your table, basically everything else such as utensils or drink was self-served. The guy who took our order was pretty nice and informative, he even suggested us to do a secret combo option to get free salad and appetizers for less the price shown on the menu. We got 1 pound of tri tip steak, one ceasar salad, one garlic mash potatoes and got some free breadsticks as part of the combo meal. My receipt was around $24 ish and the meal was super plentiful for just the two of us. We got our trip tip medium rare (yes you can choose how your steak cooked). It was very juicy and the outer skin of the steak was glazed with some kind of sweet sauce which when you bite into, slowly seep into your tongue and was so delicious. Mash potatoes were cooked pretty well, still lukewarm when we got it. Breadsticks were crunchy and had a garlic taste, this might be excessive to say but I also love their caesar salad, really fresh and tangy. read more

I've eaten at various Stonefire locations from time to time, and they all have good consistent quality food. They don't have traditional waitress service, so you order from the front and they bring your food direct to your table. This actually works out well as their system of service is quite efficient. They have a wide variety of items to choose from. One item that I especially like is the Lemon and Garlic chicken, which is very tangy and delicious. The one and only drawback of the Stonefire's is that they can get kind of crowded, and when they do they can also be quite noisy. Try to go there at an off hour if you can. read more

Great selection of food at this joint! You can get anything from a healthy salad to a yummy pizza. I came on a weekday during lunch and service was fast although they were obviously very busy. Came here on a Friday night and it definitely was a new experience. You order at the front where there is a brightly illuminated menus hanging overhead. They give you a numbered GPS, so that when your food is ready, the food runners take your meal to your table. The menu has a lot of options and you look at the menu before approaching the register. The type of food they offer here is barbecue, pizza, and sandwiches. My family and I decided on ordering individual grill combos: Chicken and Ribs. The chicken breast which was really juicy and had a nice char of barbecue. The ribs were on point and feel off the bone with every bite. I'm a big sauce guy so I grabbed extra barbecue sauce to dip my proteins in. This place was nice and they even had beer and wine. I really hoped they had a full bar, but beer and wine is just fine. I would say this place is pretty good and the price is reasonable. The serving size is very good and I definitely left this place with a full stomach. read more

"Our Favorite": whole chicken, whole tri tip, 2 sides (mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese), breadsticks, and garden salad So cold inside and outside. Whole tri tip: 1/2 bbq, 1/2 pepper garlic + pepper garlic's meat was more delicious - bbq had a good outer flavor but the meat but not as flavorful Whole chicken: 1/2 bbq, 1/2 pepper garlic - the pepper garlic is strong, flavorful, a little too salty on the outside - both sauces' chicken was dry and flavorless inside * needs a dipping sauce Mashed potatoes + good flavor of garlic and butter Breadsticks + good garlic and butter flavor - uneven garlic applied +/- "the breadsticks are the best" Mac and cheese + nice and cheesy - not enough flavor Overall: impressive portion sizes, not impressive flavor, esp the meats read more

Stopped in for lunch the other day prior to a Dr. appointment. I had a regular size (not petite) Southwest salad which had a choice of quinoa, mesquite grilled chicken or tri tip with mixed greens, roasted corn, red peppers, avocado, red onion, tomato, red cabbage, pepitas, tortilla strips, Feta cheese, and a Chili Lime Vinaigrette. I went with mesquite grilled chicken and went sans Feta/tortilla strips since gestational diabetes makes me literally no fun. The salad came out in a big bowl that I happily scooped onto my plate. It was terrific and I had about half of it left when I was done so I would say this is such a great value. There are little stations set up where you can grab a to-go box and I easily wrapped up my leftovers with no fuss. Also, I think chicken was a great choice. The meat was flavorful and didn't taste previously frozen...perhaps next time I'll mix it up with tri tip. Stonefire Grill reminds me of a Panera or anywhere that you can get "faster food". What I really liked about it was that the ingredients were so fresh and the ordering/taking to go was so easy. I will definitely be back! read more

Just had take-out from Stonefire Grill over the wknd... Pesto pasta - this was really good. Simple, but done well. Not too oily and just the right amount of pesto. Garlic mashed potatoes - decent, no complaints Half roast chicken - UNDERCOOKED. This was extremely off putting, not to mention unsafe. The inside was pink, almost red and the meat was severely undercooked. I've enjoyed their salads and tri-tip in the past but this was the first and LAST time I'll be having their chicken. read more

We ordered from here via Postmates and I won't name names but this place feels very close to another place that had amazing bread sticks, pizza, salad and chicken. We ordered a family pack that included bread sticks, salad, chicken, and pizza. Everything was delicious. However, I'll add that they use a lot of garlic so if you love garlic you'll love it here. We ordered the garlic lemon chicken and there were big pieces of garlic in every crevice of the chicken. I had to pick some out because as much I like garlic, I had to be considerate of my coworkers the next day. Also, there is a lot of garlic in the Caesar salad dressing. Also, the value is great. I feel like we didn't pay much for the family pack and since there are only two of us it lasted for a couple of days, which was perfect. Definitely a new favorite. read more

The past few times that we have gone to take Stonefire to go, it has been lackluster. We ate at the restaurant a few months ago for a birthday dinner and got food poisoning(I'm pretty sure it was the salad because my youngest was the only one who didn't get it and he was the only one not sick). I really love the salads and pasta but the most recent to go order(4/2), they did not add salt to pasta making the pesto bland and flavorless. We always order carrot cake every time we go and this time the carrot cake was not made properly. It was mushy and did not seem to have all the ingredients in it as it was not sweet and the cake itself was lacking in spices. I'm really disappointed because we used to absolutely love Stonefire and it has gone downhill so much. read more

I love stonefire grill bc it's family style. The pasta is always al dente. And the portions are huge! I believe the sizes are petite, small, and large? A small pasta can be shared btwn 2-3 people. My favorite is the pesto pasta. The mash potato is okay i thought it dry. The tri trip is good and has a hint of smoked BBQ. I brought home the Caesar salad and ate it for lunch the next day. Surprisingly it lasted. I thought it would get soggy over night but it did not! Yay read more

It like the Denny's of BBQ. You remember it being okay at one point, but now it gets more disappointing with each visit. Seriously, the best thing on the menu was the pulled pork sandwich, even though the sauce was always too sweet. It's not on the menu anymore, and everything else is overpriced and mediocre quality. When you start seeing faux chrome added to the fixtures, you'll know they've gone full Denny's. read more

A solid 3 -------------- -ordered boneless chicken & tri tip (but I got ribs and tri tip instead) Didn't complain because the chicken on my brothers plate was waaay too dry. This place is your basic bbq lunch place with pizza and Italian food if you want. I didn't try the pizza or pasta so I can't comment on that. However, the chicken was too dry. The ribs were just bones. I feel like I just got a rack of bones on my plate. The tri tip was the best part of the meal. It wasn't too chewy, and it was pretty tender. Would I come back again? I can't say yes, because there's so many more good food in this plaza. Maybe I'll try their pizza, it looks good. Overall, it's your average meal with nothing too memorable. I was hoping for something better because of the good reviews. read more

I came here tonight because it is my son's favorite restaurant. He loves the pizza as well as the Mac and Cheese. The food is always consistent and the price is great. It's always clean and for the most of the time we get good service. This evening I came in with 2 kids and was sitting at a booth trying to entertain the 2 while making sure they both ate their food. One of the kids was only 2 and I was babysitting for the whole day so was learning what she would and would not eat. I have been stressed all week and have been emotionally exhausted. Then enters Zel who I have to say is one of the best employees at this establishment. She was friendly, warm and did extra to make our night wonderful. I watched her as she was constantly working and keeping everyone happy with her smile and service. She is one of the main reasons I will be coming back and I won't be shocked if I will be back again this week. Thanks for the ending our evening perfectly! read more

Recently had food delivered from here and it was quite a large portion of food. We ordered the chicken and ribs for 2, which included, a half rack of ribs, half a chicken, a (not so) petite salad, and 4 breadsticks for $22! The ribs were okay. It wasn't falling off the bone but their marinade was tasty. We ordered the garlic lemon chicken and that was delicious! The salad was just okay. It had beans, lettuce, cheese, and some other items that was just fine with the dressing. The breadsticks were good though but it's hard to go wrong with fresh baked breadsticks covered in cheese! Overall I thought the meal for the price was okay, but I wouldn't go there if I wasn't in quarantine. read more

Stonefire grill has been a go to place for my colleagues and I since it can accomodate big groups and has a good variety of food. Their salads come in different sizes and the prices are really good comparing to other places. You can also find the nutritional menu online to exactly see how much calorie, fat, protein and etc are in each of their items. I ordered the lunch special bbq chopped salad with chicken and a breadstick for only $7. It's a pretty good deal. The amount of chicken In the salad was amazing. read more

YUM! I took my recycling money and bought my husband and I dinner at Stonefire Grill. We both had a craving for some hard core meat. We both ordered the Petite Tri Tip; he chose the BBQ selection and I chose the butter garlic. We shared the sides of Garlic mashed potatoes and the garden salad. Our meal also included 2 breadsticks each. At first sight, I was a little disappointed with the portions of the Tri Tip but once we finished all of the other items i realized it was the perfect amount. The taste and flavor of both Tri tip's were great, nice and tender as well. The garden salad was fresh and crunchy and large enough to be shared. The garlic mashed potatoes were amazing, Best I've ever had. And those breadsticks, YUMMY. The only negative comment I had was the temperature of the hot items were stone cold, easily rectified with a microwave. The prices were so good that I still had $22 left over to go towards my honey's Valentine's gift Hubba Hubba. read more

I guess with inflation all portions shrunk by about 50%. But the worst part for us was the pickup process. We stood around with multiple staff (in red tshirt) and 2 leads (in blue shirt), walked past us multiple times, made eye contact but completely ignored us for about 10 minutes at the pickup counter. Then once someone came to help us, it took another 6-8 minutes to complete the pickup. By the time we received our orders, our food was cold, pizza was completely cold and hard. I wish I could take back the tip I included and pre-paid! read more

Was really looking forward to last night's visit to Stonefire Grill. They really overall have good food. But it just seems restaurants are really going downhill. Raising prices and the food just not as good. I usually order the tri tip which as long as I order and eat it there is great But I really wanted baby back ribs. Was sooo disappointed. Not a sliver of fat which made them very dry and chewy. What a shame. I really need to stop giving them second chances and just move on. read more

Avoid this branch. Ordered the 22 inch "The Works" pizza and whoever worked on it needs work. The pizza looks pitiful at best and crust was soggy. The ribs and tri-tip steak combo looks like a kids meal. Ribs were dry and hard and tri-tip was far from tender. The Mac and cheese tasted like it came from a box. I don't think this place uses water filter or they need to upgrade their filtration system. Their water from the vending machines tasted like recycled water. 1 star for the people taking orders. Very welcoming and attentive. read more

Very disappointed in the Ribs. They were DRY and certainly were not cooked where the "fell off the bone." Meat was sorta tough. Barbecue sauce was okay, nothing to write home about. Pretty bummed out by this location. I don't know if stonefire is a chain or not but the one by my house is far better. Ordered a tri tip chopped salad to go as it's my favorite thing on the menu. They forgot the dressing for the salad, the chips on it were different than usual and stale, the lettuce was a different kind than usual. On top of that I'm finding stringy fibers of something in my food in every few bites that I'm taking. If you were out of things or doing something different you should inform customers while they're ordering. Pretty unacceptable. read more
