I had come in a little after lunch, wait staff was helpful and attentive, probably due to the fact that no one was there. I ordered some tri tip to go, medium-rare. What I got was probably medium-well if not well-done itself. For the price you pay for tri-tip, I expected much better. I probably won't give it another shot, there are plenty of other places that sell high-priced meat. read more

All the Stonefire grills that I have been to are amazing! I love their food and their service!

Their barbeque sauce tasted like ketchup, food came out cold, trip tip was chewy and the mashed potatoes were gross. They just opened and their barbeque sauce dispenser was empty. Probably equivalent to an expensive hometown buffet, without the Chinese food. I don't know what the hype is. read more

We have been back several times, with a little menu familiarity, the food is great and a decent price to feed our whole family. =)

The roasted cauliflower app with tahini sauce was FABULOUS! We also ordered the Stonefire Favorite Pizza with red onion, pesto, and avocado. So different and SO tasty. We will come back. read more

This review is specifically for the carrot cake, and the wonderful catering service I received this weekend. Wow, if you haven't tried it- I recommend you do! We ordered an entire cake for a birthday party and it was a big hit! It's layered and SO moist. And serves way more people than the suggested serving, which was what I was told upon ordering. Great service! read more

I have been eating at this restaurant for over 3 years and I just realized that I have never given them a review. The food here is absolutely delicious. I cannot remember a time I've visited this restaurant without leaving 100% satisfied. I personally was not a salad person but this place totally converted me. Their southwest salad is Amazing. Their ingredients are so fresh and I always find my coworkers picking at my food and trying to steal a bit when I'm getting up to get a refill on my drink or I'm playing on my phone and not paying attention to what is happening near my plate. They also serve the most delicious carrot cake I've ever eaten in my life !!! The only thing that sucks is they have ALWAYS refused to give me the recipe claiming it's a "secret ". I love this place so much I've even had them cater my numerous work events and have always gotten compliments by my coworkers on how good I am at choosing great food. This is definitely a great lunch and dinner spot. Try it out if you haven't yet ! read more

The food is decent for the price. We went when it was pretty busy and our drinks ended up being served wrong (fiance's beer was warm and my cab was ice cold) I let the manager know and she was a Rockstar. Got us new drinks at the right Temps and even brought my fiance his warm beer a plastic container filled with ice. So nice to go somewhere where the customer service is so great! read more

Loved through tri-tip. We got the family meal for two for 19.99! Great deal the sides where Mac n cheese, mash potato and salad. Also the yummy breadsticks.. but there are so many different things to try .. read more

I've ate here three times now, and every time it gets better. this was the first time I took my wife, and she loved it. The portions are huge and the prices is reasonable. The food is so good. This is the second time I got the ribs, and loved them. I only wish they had the outside patio open. (under construction) I hope they finish it soon because we are defiantly coming back. read more

Great service and good quality food, we were about 20 people with no reservation or any heads up, and we just shied up, and they were extremely busy, but they helped us find tables and chairs for 20 people with less than 19 min, and we enjoyed their great quality food, great pizza. read more

Never again will I go there bad service and you make a line to get a table and a line to order...Bunch of crap...NO COMMUNICATION WHAT SO EVER...STAY AWAY IF YOU ARE HUNGRY... read more

First off I am a loyal Stonefire customer for many years now and I have to mention that this Irvine location is lacking compared to mine which is in Fountain Valley. I always receive great service and very delicious hot food but not today. I order my usual lemon garlic boneless chicken breast which is always tender juicy and smothered with all that delicious lemony garlic sauce that I like. Well when my chicken arrived it was just awful, dry and counted garlic with little sauce. I asked the waitress if she could just bring extra sauce and I would just eat it like that. Well I waited and waited and nothing, and mind you it was a Thursday not very busy so I just couldn't understand why it was taking so long. I finally got up with my plate in hand and talked with the manager. I asked him took look at my chicken and he agreed it was not looking so good and did offer to make me a fresh order of chicken but by this point I was over it and he did reimburse me my dinner. I will not be going back to this location EVER!!! read more

We've ordered the Family Meals several times in the past years. The quality of the meats and consistency of the food has been hit and miss. Often he ribs are burnt and overlooked with bands of black spots. For our Mother's Day dinner yesterday, the Tri-tip was just not edible because there was a thick strip of tendon in the middle and it was severely undercooked even though we had asked for medium well. Time to look elsewhere to cater our family meals. read more

This is always a go to for my family. The food is great and the service as well. The place is always clean. The menu is very affordable. I wish they would add shrimp on their menu read more

The team is always hustling! Our experience today was great. Kelly is always smiling and very friendly. She works hard and the eye contact is greatly appreciated. Also today Natalie was moving with purpose in the dining area clearing tables and helped by folks at the drink station. It was really busy and the team tonight 7/25 @ 6:45pm truly made a difference. Thanks Stonefire team. read more

If I could give it a F I would. Farro salads disgusting slimy onions not even caramelized. Soups old. Gross!!!

I love this place but really feel that customer service has taken a dive here. When you can't upgrade a salad that comes with a meal even when your willing to pay an up charge is just stupid. It cost you a sale today because I don't want to order a full pound of tri tip for one person and a salad but if that's the stand you want to take you will probably be losing more then a one time sale I won't be coming back to a restaurant that won't work with their menu. It is not like I asked you to comp it or do something that was not even on your menu. So all in all I feel like it's more about not giving a darn about your customers Update: I've upgraded this review to 3 stars from 1 because management gave a quick response to this complaint and things have been clarified even if I think it's still a bunch of bull. Also I made a suggestion and they said they would forward it to their management team. read more

Stonefire is the best bang for your buck for dinner in Irvine. The stimulus package is the best deal and feeds 3-4 people, and comes with a salad, 2-topping pizza, and your choice of steak/tri-tip/ribs at only $25. I usually get the tri-tip, and since they usually cook it more than you ask for, I would ask for rarer than you would normally order. Sometimes the tri-tip is a hit or miss, either tender or really hard to chew. The caesar salad dressing is the best I've tried at any restaurant, and the BBQ sauce is on point. The service is always consistent, and they're really quick and efficient at getting out your food. read more

we cater a lot of parties from Stonefire grill. tri-tip is very good. bbq chicken is very good. nice place to dine in with kids. note: it is self served... read more

I personally LOVEEEE this place! I usually get the half bbq chicken meal with a ceasar salad (no croutons or cheese needed, just dressing on the side) which comes with 2 breadsticks. It's plenty of food to take home for another meal and all for under ten bucks! I've never had a problem with service, everyone is always polite and helpful and the food comes out quickly. They have crazy deals for families or large groups with obscene amounts of food for a darn good price. We once got a meal with a rack of ribs, a whole tri tip roast, salad, a pizza, a dozen breadsticks, and drinks all for about 50-60 bucks. Come on, that's a crazy deal. The quality is always good, freshly made and hot off the grill. The bbq sauce is a lil sweet for my taste, but it's still really good. The tri tip and ribs are always juicy and hot and most of the dishes are served on pizza trays because they're so big. This isn't a fancy place, it's just somewhere fun and cheap with good down home eatin' :) read more

Had a chopped salad and some tri tip. The tri tip had decent flavor but could have been seasoned better. The salad was okay but it could have been better as well. Overall it was average but I have heard lots of good things so I will try it again sooner or later. read more

BBQ Chopped Salad and Lemon Garlic Chicken to go! You cant go wrong with this place. Great food, great service and very, very affordable. Its the quick, get dinner to go spot or a healthy inexpensive lunch spot! read more

Hands down bomb! Heard from my brother, but seriously this place is pretty good. Been going their once everything 2-3 weeks, always taking new people. Always get the breadsticks, bbq chopped salad, and garlic lemon chicken. Always a must try. Anything else I haven't tried or don't really want to try unless I hear it personally, other than that, pizza is okay as well. Of course if you have budget, you can ask for the stimulus package they have. Pretty good for 24.95. Try it out :) read more

Stonefire has the same appeal as Panera or Corner Bakery. It's fast, casual, and super consistent. It's a good value, all the portions are generous. They have a tasty house BBQ sauce, it's self serve as are the drinks, silverware, etc. The tri-trip is flavorful and tender, I'd highly recommend the grilled salad with chicken or tri-tip. The breadsticks are ultra soft and buttery, and can be best described as "nummy." My only complaints: like most Irvine company places, the atmosphere is bland and overly sterile. Also I ordered the carrot cake once for dessert and it came out icy cold, as though it had barely been defrosted from the freezer. read more

Stonefire Grill reminds me of Pat & Oscar's but the food is waaaaay better. I love the concept of walk up ordering, plenty of spacing, and laid back atmosphere. It is a great family restaurant. Kid's meals are a great deal, at $4.99 with a drink, and it is a nice sized portion. The chicken is super moist and juicy, the tri tip is really good, and the garlic mashed potatoes are superb. Even the kid's mac & cheese is the homemade type, I have a problem paying for Kraft mac & cheese when we dine out. This is a great family restaurant! (Did I say that already?) read more

Surprised at this hidden find in Irvine! Great BBQ and comfort food at really low prices! Nice atmosphere and very awesome attentive service, especially for a walk up counter place. The BBQ Chicken Salad was our favorite! The family deal (not on the menu) is a great value. The pizza was the only eh part, kinda boring flavor, but really no complaints here.... read more

Other than the fact that we found a dead fly in our huge bowl of salad... lol. Service here is great. We ordered the family combo for our party of four which included a platter of tri-tip, cooked medium rare, 12 garlic breadsticks, and a big bowl of caesar salad. I almost lost my appetite after one of us found a fly in the salad, but we quickly told the manager and he apoligized (i know sometimes a bug can't be helped) , he brought out a new platter for us, fly-free, and a gift-card for our next visit. The food was really good, wonderful flavor. We'll come back. read more

I was surprise with the quality of food. It was pretty good for a fast food type atmosphere. My husband and I had the pasta and chicken, soup and salad. The bread sticks were awesome! They were all good with big portions, we couldn't eat it all. I would definitely come back and try the Tri-Tip since everyone else was trying it. I like these type of restaurant especially for my husband who like mostly American type food so I would put this on my list to be a regular. I just wish there is one close to my house so I don't have to drive to Irvine. read more

I don't know why people love this place. The tri-tip is okay, but nothing special and greek salad was one of the worst I've had. The food is so plain and pedestrian - no flavor at all. if anything it's less flavorful than it looks. read more

Stonefire grill is a little bit pricey, but overall was a pretty good experience. I went here with a friend and ordered the grilled chicken combo with the tri tip and it was not that much for how much I spent. The chicken was very oily and there was only about 5 pieces of tri-tip. I also shared the small pesto pasta, which was actually the best part of the meal and it came with a large quantity, but also not too expensive. read more

Amazing cobb salad, just make sure you ask for Ranch if thats your dressing of choice because they use an italian that ruins it for me. Bread sticks are out of this world. read more

I love this place because they are fast and efficient as well as delicious. I come here often for lunch and whatever I order us always great. I recommend the BBQ chicken salad, it's a favorite to many! read more

I've officially given up on this location of Stonefire Grill. Seriously, every time I come here I get awful service...a screwed up order, a screw-up of the fix to my screwed up order, forgotten orders, etc. Something always goes wrong for me specifically, no matter what size group I come with. AND, they took my favorite item of their menu, some southwestern wrap that they either removed entirely or turned into a salad that is not the same as it was before. Don't get me wrong, the food and bbq is typically quite good here, but I am cursed by the service at this location and will never go again. I can't imagine I'm the only one who's experiencing such troubles, considering it happens every single time. A waiter also spilled hot soup on my friend once. read more

boy am I glad we drove by this place. Where has it been all my life. Loved my Caesar salad, Loved even more my husband's steak Mexican salad (i forgot the name) portions are really big. The soup was awesome and the total price for everything is very reasonable. I have a favorite salad place now and THIS IS IT! yeaaaay read more

I recently attended an event that had food catered from Stonefire Grill. I was very much impressed with the food. It was better than I remember it being from my first visit. The Greek salad is tasty, but maybe a little too overloaded with dressing. The lemon chicken was moist and flavorful. My original opinion of the quality of the food at this restaurant has definitely changed for the better after trying its catering service. read more

great food, great prices, great serving size, and great staff. will be going back! try the BBQ Chicken Salad - yum! read more

Had the tri-tip here. It was so juicy and tender. One of the best here in OC. =D

Food was very good, particularly the tri tip. What stood out however was the fantastic service. Will definitely return.

Finally writing this review after coming here for so long. Love the staff here. They are ALWAYS so friendly and nice. Chandler- their manager (I think?) is always really friendly and very likeable. Love their BBQ salad- with Chicken and tri tip. Salmon is also very fresh tasting Their breadsticks are pretty good too. Easy to order take out and casually eat in. read more
