Excellent propriety on all fronts. It's clean, the staff is pretty cool (maybe slightly guarded), and the convenience to Harrah's is incredible. Just walk across the street. You also get free breakfast, quiet rooms, and a seasonal pool. If I were really searching for any negatives, booking this place is somewhat of a gamble because they don't do refunds. That's based on my experiences anyway. But you will get incredible value! The only other negative is that you have to take the scenic route around the river one way or the other to get to the property. If it's late at night anf you're a female, you might want to walk with a friend or ask security to escort you. I have never heard of any problems like that in Cherokee. This is probably because the tribe wants people coming back. If you interfere, it ain't gonna be good! This is their land. I highly recommend you respect it. The clink on an Indian reservation is probably one of the last places you want to be. We went off the reservation on the review though, didn't we? My bad! This is an awesome place to stay. Not my #1 in the area but my top three due to convenience and the ability to walk to the hotel (I drink red wine sometimes). I will be staying here for one night very soon. Looking forward to it. We arrived at the hotel on Thursday evening at around 10 pm, which is well past check in time, but the desk welcomed us just like we'd been expected at the regular time. The lobby was clean and orderly as was the hallway. The room was sweltering when we opened the door, but thankfully, the air conditioner was working perfectly and soon had the room cool and comfortable. The room itself was nothing spectacular, just a good basic comfortable room for the two of us to sleep in and relax after going on our daily adventures. If you're looking for a "resort" this is not the place for you, but if you're looking for a nice place to stay for yourself and your family I can recommend this highly. And it's right across the street from Harrah's which has an excellent Gordon Ramsey Food Court. If there was anything that I could recommend that the hotel could do, it would be to update their bathroom fixtures. They're a little dated. read more

We stayed here for one night to do the Polar Express. It was very close to the train and definitely not a bad spot! Everything was very clean and the staff were so nice during check in. Our room had a fridge, microwave and an extra sink. Continental breakfast was pretty basic (waffles, cereal, bagels, yogurt) but it was included. We definitely enjoyed our stay. Also, if you are in town to gamble, they offer a complimentary limo shuttle to the casino! read more

the hotel appeared clean, and was ok.. each morning there were not many choices on the continental breakfast.. by the time we got there , nothing had been replenished and nothing to choose from.. back to the room, there was the smell of raw sewage in our room and on the the outside of this place too.. The wifi is a complete joke, the guide on the TV in te room doesn't even have channels and programs loaded due to the lack in internet connection. The hot tub has been broken for the entire 5 days we have been here and management, Lisa S. Isn't concerned with getting it fixed and the hotel isn't offering any type of reimbursement for the inconvenience; although the proximity to the casino across the street and the pool/hot tub were the only reasons for us picking this location. Breakfast in the mornings consist of store bought muffins, cereal, and juice. Do better Stonebrook! Was looking for a place to stay while traveling/ happened across the Stonebrook Lodge...My husband and I were very happy that we stopped. The staff was very friendly and very accommodating to our needs. We got a jacuzzi king room/the price was very affordable. (We had paid more at another motel in Canton, NC...for a room that was run down/etc..) We loved the decor and ambiance of the Lodge..WE WILL BE BACK! read more

Room had roaches. We were told that they we fully booked and couldn't move us anywhere. We were up all night killing roaches. Called the front desk and she came up and wanted proof so she took the dead roaches that we had killed with her. Said she didn't have any roach spray so she bought up some ant spray...which made the problem worse. We took our luggage to the car at 2am so no roaches would get in our belongings. The manager dodged my calls all week. When I finally spoke with her, she was very unconcerned and offered a 50% discount...although we should've received 100%. We were told that they dont usually have these type of issues...which I don't believe. Not one time was anything ever said about getting an exterminator to go out there and spray. Because for the amount of roaches that were in that room...there's no way that was the first time...and definitely won't be the last! read more

We stayed here because its more affordable & smoke free! You can walk down the street to the Casino for less than half of the weekend prices at the Casino Hotel. There is a walkway across the street that has a bridge that goes over the river to the Casino. The staff was helpful & friendly. The room was beautiful, nice & clean. So!!!!!! Just for location at the least this place gets 4 Stars. How convenient it is to be directly across from the Casino and have a cheap rate within a spectacular location. The staff wasn't too chummy and the breakfast was mediocre but I loved the location, decoration and the room. This will always be the hotel when in Cherokee. The room was so modern. I loved it....also the lobby was set up like your living room. You could literally take a nap on the couch and no one would bother you. Also the bathroom in the room modern. This is normally my place to stay when in the area but I stayed here for one night and I happened to leave my fairly expensive pillow in the room. I called and was told no one stayed in the same room so my pillow should still be there. Unfortunately, the lady at the front desk wouldn't go to the room so I called and spoke to a guy the next day. He informed me he found my pillow and would put my name on it. On my way back from being further north I drove 30-45 minutes out the way just to find out he never found my pillow and there was no item with my name on it. Very disappointed with the way this was handled, if he never found the pillow and just told me the truth, that would have saved my time and gas money!!! read more

The place looks nice from the outside. Seems clean and neat inside. The room has very thin/cheap pillows that you have to stack two together to not have your head on the bed. The bed covering is minimal as we froze to death even with the heat going. The complimentary breakfast was minimal with only a make your own waffle that was "hot". For what they charge I think it could be a lot better, but I guess cheap is what they want for making mass money on people staying there instead of the Casino. read more

This hotel is a little newer. No smoking is the policy and it's working. They are accommodating clean with comfortable beds. Trust me is GREAT. Jacuzzis in the rooms, water pressure good in the shower refrigerator in the room. They really need to update the breakfast menu is my only complaint. However it's worth the money read more

For $300 a night you should be able to check your email. The wifi here is nonexistent even after the staff reset the router three times. Breakfast was microwaved egg discs and fruit cocktail from a jar. Not even a banana. Just not worth it in my opinion. read more

It's a nice hotel with clean rooms. Everything looks newer. Free breakfast includes waffles, bagels, cereal, pre-packaged muffins, etc. Casino is across the street. They offer a free shuttle, but we just walked - it's not far. read more

A nice looking, smaller hotel that is directly across the street from Harrah's Casino. My wife booked the room with a jacuzzi tub which was an upgrade. After a long day at the casino, we went home and showered. I was drawing the bathroom water for the jacuzzi which was warm enough for me to comfortably have my hand in, and all of the sudden the damn fire alarm started going off! We immediately tried to fan the air in front of the alarm yo silence it. A few minutes later there was a knock on our door. The gentlemen that worked the front desk was standing there seeming a bit nervous. I explained what had happened and invited him in to inspect the room. He told me that I would have to stay in my room because the firemen were on their. So I stayed as directed. All the other guests left the their rooms and evacuated the hotel. My wife left to speak with the front desk gentlemen. She returned with two firemen and said that Amber who was the office manger would be in at 9 a.m. and so would Melony the general manager. The firemen walked in the room and stood there looking around for about ten minutes. We explained the the water from the jacuzzi must have been hot enough to trigger the smoke detector which some genius place four feet above the tub. One of them opened a window I giess because 72 degrees is too warm for those who live in the mountains. We all stood arould talking about nothing which was awkward. I asked them if they smelled smoke or fire or anything and they said no. So I asked them if we were all good here. And they said yeah, and they were finally on their way. So 11 a.m. came around and it was check out time and we still had not met or received a phone call from Melony or Amber. We checked out with Amber. Amber told us that Melony, the GM, wanted to speak to us but she had an emergency at another property. I said if she wanted to speak with us why did she not call? She had all our information, knew what room, etc. It sounded bogus to me. We left at 1130 from Cherokee and did not receive a phone call from the Melony the GM all day. I called the hotel and surprise, Melony is not there again but she apparently still wants to talk to us however she now neds to speak with the owner to see how he wants to handle it. I wonder how any days we are going to have the buck passed aroumd by them hotel. The night guy to Amber or Melony, Amber to Melony, Amber to Melony to the owner....where is Melony? Over all the hotel is nice for the price. Staff is nice. Just do not pay for the jacuzzi that you cannot use with out the fire alarm going off. You will still be charged and embarrassed and lose sleep. If fact if you like sleeping, stay somewhere else because someone who paid more for a jacuzzi might wake you up at 1 a.m. and force you out of our room because you think there is a fire. We did here from Melony. She gave us 80 off whichbI was happy with overall. I just wish that we couldnhave used the hot tub. I would stay there again, I wouldn't upgrade if I did, and I wouldn't expect much other than a room. read more

Bought tickets for a concert at Harrah's. Unfortunately, it was for Fourth of July weekend. This was the only hotel with available rooms in the area. We can now see why. It seems to be a fairly new hotel, and at first glance clean. Everything in the room is of lower quality. The mattress is horrible -- cheap mattress with a waffle foam pad on top -- sheets too large for the bed, so they were loose. Terrible, cheap bedspread. Internet and television barely work. Air conditioner pulls in outside humid air. On our first day, we came back to our room around 4 pm, and it had not been serviced. We asked the cleaning person to service it, and we left again. We returned around 9 pm. We had no towels, and the bed linens had just been hastily thrown up. My husband went to the desk for towels, and the desk person only gave him two bath towels and two wash cloths. My husband told him that was not enough for the room, and the desk person reluctantly gave him two more bath towels. We had no hand towels or a bath mat. We were paying over $200 a night and could not have towels! Really!! The breakfast they provide is pathetic! All they have is packages of muffins, yogurt, and rubber egg disks. If you are diabetic or on a carb free diet, there will be nothing you can eat. There was no fresh fruit. Just some jarred fruit cocktail-- full of sugary syrup -- yuck! The only thing this hotel has going for it is their location. Only a five minute walk to Harrah's. We will not consider staying here again or recommend it. read more

This place looks nice and is new, but they have issues. We were in a room right next to the lobby & across from the elevator. We had no WIFI in our room. If I stepped out of the room to the lobby, I had it, go back in the room, gone. Kept being told they had been working on it. Seems whoever is working on it isn't fixing it. The room was ok. Good amenities in the room, but the pool is not finished & neither is the outdoor hot tub. The breakfast leaves a lot to be desired. If you like bread, there was plenty of that in bagels, toast, muffins, etc. Guy at the desk said they weren't charging for internet because it wasn't working in all the rooms. Since when do hotels charge extra for internet when it is included in the amenities. They need to rewrite their amenities because a lot of them are missing. I wouldn't stay here again and would not recommend it for anyone else. It is expensive and lacks in a lot of ways like no covers on the beds & only 2 towels for 2 people when most need another towel for their hair. Yeah, I've stayed at better places for a lot less money. Our friends who we checked in with were at the opposite end of the hotel and had WIFI. How does that happen? They need to hire a better "security" company than what they have to fix that huge problem. Oh and the guy at the desk (missing teeth) also said there was no good WIFI in the entire city. Yeah, right. Need a new front desk guy too. Won't be seeing me back there. read more

This hotel would be solid if the internet worked. It might work for 30 min at a time a couple times within 24 hours. The location is good. It's clean and somewhat comfortable. They really should not advertise WiFi as one of their amenities. It's false advertisement. This is something that needs to be taken care of immediately. If you are in the hospitality business and advertise WiFi then you should do what it takes to accomodate your guests. Management is rude and nasty. Like many of the other reviews have noted, management is rude and does not understand the concept of customer service. Because we noted some stains on the sheets we posted the "make up the room " sign on the door when we left in the morning .When we returned at 9:30 pm the sign was still there and no one had cleaned the room.When we went to the front desk there was no apology and we were told we must have put "do not disturb " on the door.This was absolutely not true! Because there was no housekeeping on duty we had no choice but to sleep in the bed. During the night I had to twice repair a running toilet. Next morning when we brought these matters to the attention of the manager, we were accused of being aggressive and telling lies about the sign on the door. The manager is nasty and should not be in the hospitality business. In addition to the above the bedspread looked old and was musty. In the breakfast room there is no fresh fruit or real butter and many of the yogurts were out of date. Steer clear, there are many better options in the area read more

Last minute trip to the mountains. Their are many "Motel" Options in Cherokee and the surrounding areas. If you are looking for a more conventional chain hotel than I highly recommend the StoneBrook Lodge. The hotel is located almost directly across from Harrah's Casino (5 minute walk). The property is less than 3 years old. It is very clean and smells new. The lobby has a "lodge" vibe, with lots of stonework and fireplace. The rooms, however, are modern. The pool was outdoors and was small. Oddly enough, it wasn't warm enough in mid-July to go in the outdoor pool. The free continental breakfast is as expected. The kids enjoyed making waffles and pancakes. The staff was very helpful with questions about available restaurants (there aren't many outside of the casino) and local fishing. The only thing that kept me from rating our stay higher was technology based. There isn't great cellular service (Verizon) in the area. The wifi was sluggish to non-responsive in the room. The television reception is not very good. It was like watching pre digital antenna feed. It did have plenty of channels. Since the wifi was inconsistent, the Amazon Fire Stick did not work at all. The price of the Lodge was very reasonable and we will stay there again if we make the trek back to the mountains. read more

We stayed at Stonebrook for the first time last weekend. It's a very nice, new hotel. Looks new, smells new, decorated nicely & was very clean. The room was up to date at large, with a sink & microwave. The bathroom had enough counter space. It's walking distance to the casino, but not super close. If it's cold outside you may want to drive or take a taxi. (Taxis are $5 from this hotel) The only complaint I have is the water pressure in the shower. Very very low. The staff was also very friendly. read more

Stayed here on 9/1/2017. As I always do in hotels I lifted the corners of the mattress (checking for bed bugs) to find a dirty pair of panties. The front desk guy said the hotel was booked and that he could only bring me new sheets for the bed vs moving us. Then when he brings them to me he just hands them to me and goes to walk off. I had to stop him and ask him to remove the panties. He then went downstairs to get a glove, came back to remove them, and my wife and I were left to make the bed up. To beat it all the next morning at check out I was left feeling like it wasn't that big of a deal and was told either the manager or the owner will be in touch. Since then I have called 5 times, emailed twice, and still no response from anyone. Obviously we left feeling like the place was a filthy dump and will never return read more

First time, last time. Went for anniversary. Hotel appeared to be really nice. When attempting to check the bed, found leftover stains and hair all over the mattress cover. Spoke with the front desk, they half heartedly apologized and offered me a 9.97 refund on a 197.97 bill. The brought a clean mattress cover but that didn't make me feel any better.They also offered me drinks which were placed on the floor instead of my hands. It was disgusting and I was very disappointed. I felt insulted. When paying that kind of money, you expect better. We spoke with the front desk the next morning and she was not much help either. She offered 20% off my next stay which I declined because I will not be returning.I requested to speak with management and have not heard from them and I probably won't as it has been 48 hours already. I would not refer friends and family to this establishment. Highly disappointing and very unprofessional. read more
