This is a motel, not a hotel. At $240 a night, beware there are few to no amenities, the office closes at 9 so no access to ice or a microwave. Basics are that it was clean, comfortable, and they had great staff! We needed somewhere to stay for an event at the casino. This was plenty close and a GREAT location off the river. Recommend! We had a nice clean room, beautiful deck view of the River. Manager was excellent and let us look at room first. Quiet and peaceful even though road is out front. Comfortable bed. We will be back next time in Cherokee. Burger place next door had great hamburgers, too! read more

This is my third stay at this motel. Don't let the word "Motel" fool you! It is the absolute BEST! They have newly renovated rooms that are absolutely beautiful!! This was my first stay with these guys. I come up regularly to fish and play poker. This will be my new go-to motel. The people are very friendly and accommodating. The room was very clean! That's a big deal for me and I'm guessing most people. It was very reasonably priced given how nice it actually was. There is no cell coverage up there but their WiFi was surprisingly strong. I was able to watch YouTube videos with no problem at all. The balcony overlooks the river, as in 2 feet away and maybe 8 feet above the water. I did a little fishing from there ( not sure if that's ok or not actually). Needless to say I'll be here at least once a month or so. Great spot, don't let the horror movie sounding name scare you. No axe murderers here! read more

Good enough for me! We usually try and only spend around $100 a night for a room but still remain picky..I don't wanna roach motel. I found this place on Tripadvisor and it ranked pretty high. I was not disappointed. The staff was very friendly, nice and personable. The room was very, very clean. Beds were comfortable and clean. Ours were queen which did seem smaller than average. TV was a big back TV, but hey, it worked just fine. Keys were also actual keys. Overall the room was just fine. I definitely stay again.. Oh yeah! Almost forgot! The VIEWS! View from every room is a river front. The calming sound of the river flowing over the rocks lull you to sleep. Or just sit in the rocking chairs on your balcony and enjoy a cup of coffee.. This is a great little place people.. Don't hesitate. read more

We stayed here on a road trip, after the great smoky mountains and before heading off to the blue ridge parkway. We came in with low expectations and were blown away! The rooms were very clean and all have balconies that look right over the river (including two chairs and a small table!) We slept with the screen door open and listened to the river sounds all night... the lifeeee. Staff were super nice and, since it's so small, there was some amount of individualized attention given in to each guest. The location is great for walking around Cherokee or along the river. Convenient parking, coffee, shampoo and soap, everything you can ask for in a hotel room. Highly recommend! read more

We recently spent the weekend in Cherokee North Carolina. The motel was very clean and everything was in good working order. There is no frills here. It has a gorgeous view on the balcony and has everything you need except the microwave. The bed was very hard! But since I sleep on a memory foam mattress I'm sure every bed is uncomfortable. We stayed there in May for my daughter's graduation at WCU. We also had other family members staying in other rooms. We had a great time staying there. In the evenings we enjoyed throwing crackers to the ducks from our balcony. It was such a nice relaxing stay! The rooms were nice and clean and the staff was so kind and helpful They answered any questions we had about finding a grocery store or finding a place to eat. The place is not far from the casino so getting a cab to the casino was easy as well. I highly recommend this place. read more

Ill make a point of staying here again because of the people working the desk, especially the person working wednesday 5/29/19 at 10am and the one thursday 5/30/19 at 8pm. The hotel itself is great too! The rooms are clean and don't stink. Plumbing all works well. The rooms don't have microwaves, but going to the office to microwave stuff is the only reasons i spent so much time talking to the people at the front desk so im actually glad the only microwave is in a common area :) read more

I wish I could tell you about this motel. But I can't. Because they cancelled my booking while I was 30,000 feet above ground, flying to North Carolina. After seeing this charming property during a 2016 family reunion in Cherokee, we decided to book it for 2017. Because this area is so busy in the summer, we booked three rooms more than a month in advance. So, imagine my surprise when I deplaned a cross-country flight to a call from my mother, in tears. Our rooms had been given away. Apparently, despite having already paid, this hotel requires you to confirm you are coming. Now, for some reason, they didn't have the right number for me to confirm. Not that it would have mattered. I was literally flying all day. So instead of emailing me, or just waiting to see if we arrived to take the PRE-PAID rooms, they simply sold them to someone else. Here's the thing. I travel often. So much, in fact, that I have logged more than 100,000 frequent flier miles this year alone. And I have never been told that paying for a room was not sufficient confirmation. So, instead of this charming riverside hotel, we are staying at an Econolodge. Not on the river, and not in the place we booked more than a month in advance. The folks behind the counter seem to think that this resolution is just fine, and bewildered that we are upset at all. I'm trying to get my money back now. But buyer beware. Even a reservation made months before means absolutely nothing here. read more

I stayed here this past weekend and I can't speak more highly of this motel as a place to stay. The rooms are very clean, comfortable beds and the staff is super friendly. Check in was very easy. Also having a patio along the river with amazing views of the mountains is an added bonus for relaxing. This place is a hidden gem in Cherokee! read more

We stayed here for the weekend of Oct 9,10,11. Our room was clean yet was a bit older and you could tell just by the furnishings. We loved the balcony. The only thing I would recommend is to stay on the side AWAY from the haunted house. The music blares constantly and you can hear screaming till midnight or 1am each night. read more
