Nice clean hotel. Everything worked fine and was good. Felt a little basic though. And breakfast was small.

The room was clean and spacious enough but there was no hair dryer and they never cleaned the room for our 3 day stay so we ran out of towels and coffee (called to replenish) and the TV was super squirley. The Cherokee tower is far from everything. We were there during the week so many of the places to eat were not open until late in the day if they opened at all so we had to walk quite a ways to eat.. I'm not a great walker so that makes a difference to me. There was only one place for a breakfast during the week as well and that was in the other tower. Guys restaurant was good but really not fabulous and no breakfast during the week. All the restaurants and stores closed at 9 so plan ahead on that as well. The casino was good. We found if we gambled during the day we won but at night we did not, so we didn't gamble at night. The sports book area was great for watching football but we were watching on a day that all restaurants closed at 9 and the game started at 8:30 soo.. out of luck on that. We would go back because we did have a good time but I was surprised at some of this so thought I'd provide some education to others planning on staying here.

I was provided a welcome bag with a water, Doritos and a Hershey bar. So that was nice. The AC in the hallways were working this visit and the AC in the room was working. So I am glad those issues were fixed. The hotel seemed much different than my prior stay. A problem still not addressed is with the outlets as there was not anywhere to plug in my laptop at the desk. The only outlets I could find were in the bathroom and on the bedstand. I did find a power strip behind the desk later but those were all being used. The tv turned on by itself at 2:52am and woke me up. So if I ever stay here again, I will unplug the tv before going to sleep. Breakfast was mostly good but some of the items like the fruit compote, seemed rancid. After one bite I decided it wasn't worth getting sick. The items weren't stored properly or replaced with fresh from the day before. I was happy to move on. If someone hadn't set the timer on the tv to turn on in the middle of the night, this would have been a great stay. So I would return here again but unplug the tv the next time.

It was also conveniently located across from the casino, so we could get late night food, as we arrived late in the evening. The staff were incredibly kind as well. We would definitely come back for stop through to the Smokies.

What make me rate this 5 stars was JOAN who ran the breakfast area. The 2nd person called in sick and Joan ran breakfast not missing a beat. We immediately brought the issue to management's attention and documented everything with photos. The hotel owner spoke with us directly and confirmed in writing that we should have the vehicle repaired and that the hotel would reimburse us for the cost. Based on that commitment, we moved forward with the repairs, which totaled approximately $2,000. We have documentation of everything, the parking lot hazard, the vehicle damage, the owner's written agreement, the repair process, receipts, and the completed repair. Unfortunately, once the repairs were completed and it was time for the promised reimbursement, communication essentially stopped. Multiple attempts to follow up have gone unanswered. Accidents and property issues can happen anywhere. What matters is how a business handles them. We gave this hotel many opportunities to honor its written commitment, but instead, the owner stopped responding and is leading us to spend additional time and money pursuing outside avenues for a resolution. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend staying here. If the owner's word cannot be trusted and legitimate concerns are simply ignored, guests may be left responsible for unexpected expenses and forced to pursue the matter elsewhere just to obtain what was promised. We are now escalating the matter through IHG and considering additional avenues to recover the money we spent based specifically on the hotel owner's written commitment. However we have also been informed each hotel is privately owned. I strongly encourage anyone who stays here to document any property-related incident carefully and keep all communication in writing. Not a trust worthy owner at all!

You also get free breakfast, quiet rooms, and a seasonal pool. If I were really searching for any negatives, booking this place is somewhat of a gamble because they don't do refunds. That's based on my experiences anyway. But you will get incredible value! The only other negative is that you have to take the scenic route around the river one way or the other to get to the property. If it's late at night anf you're a female, you might want to walk with a friend or ask security to escort you. I have never heard of any problems like that in Cherokee. This is probably because the tribe wants people coming back. If you interfere, it ain't gonna be good! This is their land. I highly recommend you respect it. The clink on an Indian reservation is probably one of the last places you want to be. We went off the reservation on the review though, didn't we? My bad! This is an awesome place to stay. Not my #1 in the area but my top three due to convenience and the ability to walk to the hotel (I drink red wine sometimes). I will be staying here for one night very soon. Looking forward to it. And I will not tell you my #1 property in the area. I want to keep that secret to myself. But this place is pretty awesome!

Walking in you find the bed and a small sitting area with the bathroom at the rear of the room. Everything was in good working order and smelled fresh. This was everything we wanted in a room and nothing we did not need. It was also very quiet, and you could sit out in front of your room if you wanted to enjoy the cooler evening. We did not try the breakfast as we had planned to meet at a local restaurant, but the omelets certainly looked good. We stayed in the supposedly renovated main building. Our room was filthy. There was fresh blood on the bottom of the toilet seat. Large crumbs and a discarded drink top were strewn across the floor. Based on the condition of the room and facility, I would not want to spend more than $50 per night. The room was so cringey that we couldnt sleep in the supplied linen. We slept in our clothes on top of a blanket that we brought with us (we left the blanket behind with the bad memories.)
