Pano of Cherokee Grand parking lot. Very nicely kept property.

Great stay. Nice room, continental breakfast. Staff was most accommodating. Location across the street from Harrah's Cherokee Casino. Chip's Shuttle ride to the casino that ran till 1:00 am was a lifesaver! Plenty of well lit parking. Swimming Pool for guests.

Hotel has been remodeled. Very clean and smelling good. Had the deluxe king room, very nice. They offer a shuttle to casino, runs until 1am. They are just accross the street from casino, not far of a walk. Really enjoyed our stay here. Will definitely be back.

This is an update on a positive review from a year ago. Previously, we stayed in the main hotel and it was great. (see previous review). This time, those room were booked so we had a room outside the main hotel. These were old rooms, old furniture, bugs in the bathroom and just a nasty room. See pictures. We told them that there were ants in the bathroom and their response was..."Oh no...they are back." I have included pictures so you can see for yourself. Stay in the main hotel if you can.

Don't drop anything in the sink!

Extreme disappointment! We have stayed at Cherokee grand in the past and thought we knew what to expect. When I saw that it was on sale via Booking.com, I booked us a room & I was very excited about the price. We arrived last night, checked in and the lady gave us the key and told us to exit the building and go to the right. I was confused because it's a hotel with an elevator. When we followed her directions it was a separate building that was more of a motel. I was surprised, but that's not really a problem.... until we walked in. OMG! I have attached pictures to this review. It was very old. Holes in the walls, paint chipping off, old broken furniture & absolutely NO Counterspace in the bathroom. I immediately cancel the reservations we had at that hotel for Labor Day weekend I am booked somewhere else. We have stayed here before & were happy being in the hotel. I wonder if the ended up at the "motel" because we booked it through booking.com.

We rented a room with a Jetta tub but when we got there they said they ran out of those rooms. We asked what they could do for us and they said nothing. The room wasn't really pretty. And when we checked the small fridge in the room, there was an old salad and the fridge reeked of salad. There were ants in the tub and on the tables. After that we were just paranoid of any ants on our bed or any bed bugs. Luckily, they were able to approve a return for Saturday night but initially we had booked Friday-Sunday. The hotel isn't good. And we paid 123 for a night. It's too pricy for what they give. Not worth it!!! I WOULD NEVER GO BACK TO THIS HOTEL EVER! The only reason I am giving it 2 stars is because the workers there are soooo nice! They are super sweet. Other than that, seriously GROSS! It was so bad, my husband and I were thinking of going home Friday. DO NOT RENT FROM HERE unless you're Ant Man.

I thought the environment was fine. However, I do have opinions about food and hospitality. Overall, I thought that Harrah's was alright. The food was good (Although the market was overpriced), but the hotel room left a lot to be desired. I'm going to bring up the conference food as part of this evaluation, and I was overall, very happy with every meal I had while there. Zero complaints. Good quality, flavorful, good variety. If you're booking an event, the in house team at Harrah's does good work. My hotel room was on the west tower and felt a bit run down. It was quite warm when I came in, although turning the AC on full blast rectified that issue. What I couldn't rectify was the rubber seal on the desk falling off, and two handles on the chest of drawers having been removed by someone else. It just felt like there was a lack of attention to detail. More annoyingly, for a 3 night stay, at no point was my room ever cleaned or the bed ever made. I'm not saying it needs to be cleaned from top to bottom, but I'm very certain that no staff members were ever in my room during my stay. If they only clean the room on request, why bother having do not disturb signs? I had dinner twice, and breakfast once at Gordon Ramsay's market. I thought the items there were fine, but very overpriced. 4 dollars for a Chobani Yogurt that you'd pay 1.39 for normally, for instance. And that's before Tribal fees. My meals were pretty good though. Pizza, and fish and chips. Overall, this isn't a bad place to stay, and as someone who doesn't spend a lot of time gambling, the casino floor had a certain charm to it. It's kind of in the middle of nowhere, but if you don't mind a subpar hotel room, the rest of the stay will be perfectly nice.

I was provided a welcome bag with a water, Doritos and a Hershey bar. So that was nice. The AC in the hallways were working this visit and the AC in the room was working. So I am glad those issues were fixed. The hotel seemed much different than my prior stay. A problem still not addressed is with the outlets as there was not anywhere to plug in my laptop at the desk. The only outlets I could find were in the bathroom and on the bedstand. I did find a power strip behind the desk later but those were all being used. The tv turned on by itself at 2:52am and woke me up. So if I ever stay here again, I will unplug the tv before going to sleep. Breakfast was mostly good but some of the items like the fruit compote, seemed rancid. After one bite I decided it wasn't worth getting sick. The items weren't stored properly or replaced with fresh from the day before. I was happy to move on. If someone hadn't set the timer on the tv to turn on in the middle of the night, this would have been a great stay. So I would return here again but unplug the tv the next time.

It was also conveniently located across from the casino, so we could get late night food, as we arrived late in the evening. The staff were incredibly kind as well. We would definitely come back for stop through to the Smokies.

You also get free breakfast, quiet rooms, and a seasonal pool. If I were really searching for any negatives, booking this place is somewhat of a gamble because they don't do refunds. That's based on my experiences anyway. But you will get incredible value! The only other negative is that you have to take the scenic route around the river one way or the other to get to the property. If it's late at night anf you're a female, you might want to walk with a friend or ask security to escort you. I have never heard of any problems like that in Cherokee. This is probably because the tribe wants people coming back. If you interfere, it ain't gonna be good! This is their land. I highly recommend you respect it. The clink on an Indian reservation is probably one of the last places you want to be. We went off the reservation on the review though, didn't we? My bad! This is an awesome place to stay. Not my #1 in the area but my top three due to convenience and the ability to walk to the hotel (I drink red wine sometimes). I will be staying here for one night very soon. Looking forward to it. This was everything we wanted in a room and nothing we did not need. It was also very quiet, and you could sit out in front of your room if you wanted to enjoy the cooler evening.
