My whole experience was terrible with this property, the manager and staff are unresponsive and unreliable as they are not trained to escalate issues. I had to speak with the owner's son who is a minor at the front desk for a refund in which I have not received within the time frame. Upon entry of my room, there were dirty towels in the room and a moth family living on the ceiling. The shag carpet was disgusting. I couldn't sit out on the deck due to the a/c unit leaking causing an odor. Overall, do not stay here if you have standards as they do not have any. read more

I really don't want to pile on but if you have other choices, I would avoid NewFound. The restaurant is good size, wide open and very nice. It's all downhill from there. Breakfast buffet really was not very good. I could go item by item. Gravy was like milk, bacon was greasy and not cooked through, eggs were diluted and didn't hold together, hash browns were too tough to chew... Wanted a 2nd cup of coffee and didn't see the waitress for 5 to 10 min. Took another 10 minutes before we got it. read more

Hotel Room was good and clean. We loved the private balcony over looking the river. My kids fed ducks and birds right from the balcony. We stayed here for $75 a night. Only bad thing I can think of to say is that the ice machine stayed empty due to people filling up their coolers, despite the numerous signs that say not to use the ice to fill up your coolers. We would stay there again. Across the street is a restaurant by the same name. We got there late and didn't realize it was 15 minutes until closing. We got the buffet. The chicken and fry bread were great. The staff was friendly and didn't make us feel rushed even though we stayed well after closing. They waited until after we left before they started cleaning or removing food from the buffet. We will eat there again. read more

I like this place a lot. It is the only motel/hotel/lodge that accept pet. The balcony have an awesome view of the stream where trout fishing is allowed. Just be sure you have a fishing license. The only thing I don't like about this place is the pillows are uncomfortable, so bring your own pillows. It has its own restaurant but located across the street NOT in the same building. Food at lunch consists of mashed potatoes, green beans, fried chicken, and stuff. We didn't try the breakfast there. Overall, we are very happy about staying here. read more

Decent buffet, nothing special. Nice salad bar, Limited entrees but the fried chicken was great! Service was great, very friendly staff.

I read the reviews and was hoping they were wrong. Sadly they're spot on. The buffet is pretty terrible. Very small selection, I bet there were only 10-12 items on the entire dinner buffet. Most of the food on the buffet wasn't fresh. Then on the salad bar the lettuce was wilted, cucumbers and tomato's were not fresh etc. For $13.49, it should have been much better. The service was good, my server was very friendly and attentive. No complaints there, just the food. So many places are closed or close early in the off season. Definitely wish there was more selection in the area. I wouldn't eat here again by choice. read more

Not a bad place at all. They have new beds that were pretty comfortable and the view of the river is beautiful. The bathrooms need to be updated along with the exterior. There was bugs in the bathroom also. If you're passing through town and just need a place to stay then this place isn't bad at all. read more

After a disastrous experience at a competitor down the road, we happened upon this place. We arrived after closing time, but the owner let us in. We were told in advance it was buffet only, which was fine with us. Short and to the point, the food was fresh and good and the service was excellent. Kimberly was a treat to have as our server. Beyond that, a restaurant that is willing to go above and beyond for their customers deserves the support of its community. As tourists here, we don't know when we may get back, but we will remember and recommend you. read more

If you remember the Shoney's breakfast buffet from the 80s, this is a step down. Basic eggs, grits, potatoes, sausage and that is about it. The biscuits were aggressively adequate. No pancakes, no french toast and no omelette station. Food is bland, forgetful and taste like its out of the can. The french toast-sticks were hard. Strawberries were the frozen kind. Service and coffee is good. However, they need to really work on the breakfast buffet. Even in Cherokee, the competition leaves them in the dust. We wanted to try Peter's Pancakes, but it had so many people waiting that it resembled a street scene in Calcutta. Newfound's restaurant is okay as a last resort assuming BK and McDonalds are closed. read more

Giving 4 stars for the excellent service when we checked in. Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is a little "vintage" but very clean and comfortable. It's right on the river so the view is nice from your balcony. The hotel was well maintained and had everything you need for a good night's sleep. I would avoid this place at all costs. We arrived their July 11, 2021 at approx 6:00p.m. This is a buffet restaurant. We were never advised that the restaurant was closing soon therefore anything on the buffet will not be replaced. I got up and had a dinner salad, expecting to get up for a main meal. My husband got some fried fish and chicken both were not hot. When I went to get a meal, I asked an employee when they were going to fill the buffet, I was advised they were not. If we had known about this prior to being seated we would of gone elsewhere. There was little left of the fish, the chicken looked like it was picked over and the vegetables were less to be desired. We were charged full price. This is extremely dishonest of the owners, management and employees. This place use to be good years ago apparently it was horrible. When I passed the kitchen, the floor looked like it had not been clean in days. Don't go here, avoid it. Eat elsewhere read more

It is nearly impossible to find a restaurant in Cherokee, NC! All you see is Burger King, Dairy Queen and ice cream shops! Unbelievable. Anyway, we found this restaurant...finally! It was pretty good. We didn't use their buffet since we didn't like fried chicken on the bone or rice and other menu items but it looked quite clean. I ordered the mountain trout. They offered it fried, grilled or broiled. I had it broiled and it was juicy and well seasoned. The portion was pretty big. It was accompanied by green beans which were pretty tasty. There was a choice of side I had the mashed potatoes with gravy. I must say, they were quite good. My husband had a cheese burger with bacon and fries. The burger was very big! It was thick well seasoned and the bacon was a thick-cut and they put plenty of it over the burger. The fries were meaty yet crunchy. The service is attentive and courteous. read more

Normal fare to choose from bacon sausage hash brown casserole eggs grits biscuits and gravy and potatoes o brien. My favorite was the French toast sticks. Stopped here with another couple on our way back to the cabin after riding the Blue Ridge Parkway from Asheville on our motorcycles. The rain started in earnest right as we came off the parkway, so our primary criterion for choosing this restaurant was how close it was to the gas station where we were hiding from the rain!! We created a bit of a spectacle peeling off our layers of rain and riding gear once inside, but they had seated us in a corner, so we were at least out of the other diners' way! We ordered a chicken quesadilla appetizer and fried mushrooms. Had to ask for small plates because the quesadilla was so full - very tasty, could make a meal out of it! The mushrooms were hot and juicy. Had a mushroom burger for dinner, which was pretty flat and thoroughly well done, but still tasty. The other entrees were deemed edible but not amazing. Burgers were served in rectangular plastic baskets, not plates. I didn't realize there was a dinner buffet until I passed it on the way to the ladies room, and other than the impressive quantity of pinto beans, nothing remarkable.
