If you're looking for a different place to enjoy some down time I highly recommend this Inn. Quaint rooms, free breakfast and that B&B feel are all here. It's a bit older property but it was an awesome place to stay! Tucked away in the trees you will find a wide array of rooms with king poster beds. The owners are very nice and you will feel like family when you leave!

Beautiful inn tucked on a hilltop. Quiet place surrounded by trees and greenery. Spacious clean room with bright white linens. Continental breakfast with fresh fruit, yogurt, and baked goods. Coffee, tea, and juices. Innkeepers are welcoming and very helpful. Most definitely will return!

I can't even convey in words how special our experience was at McKinley Edwards Inn! My wife and I traveled to Bryson City with plans to stay at an AirBnB cabin in the mountains. The cabin wasn't ready at all, and we literally could never stay there based on what we saw. Not knowing what to do next, we ate dinner on our 30th anniversary in our car from an Arby's paper bag! My wife found this inn online, and we made the short drive. At 9:30 John-Marc opened the door before I had the chance to knock! We were quickly impressed, and committed to two nights. We were basically the only guests there (on the backside of the COVID lockdown). The room was incredibly comfortable, and we didn't want for anything at all during our stay. We were served an amazing breakfast each day, and given some great suggestions on things to do and places to visit in and near Bryson City. The night after our anniversary, we were permitted to use the grill and the kitchen to prepare a proper anniversary steak dinner and eat it in the inn's dining room! At that point we asked for a third night, which was easily done. In short, there is nothing reasonable that John-Marc and Janice won't do for their guests, and we've never met people who care as much about what they do as these innkeepers! As an added bonus, we enjoyed two evenings spending time getting to know them, and they are incredibly kind and friendly! We've got new friends for life! Bryson City is a super nice mountain town, and the nearby Deep Creek hiking trails are beautiful. Rafting is available for kids and adults, and the town has some neat shops. Bryson City Wine Market will set you up nicely for wine and cheese, and you will not find better barbecue than Haywood Smokehouse in nearby Dillsboro! Enough about the town! The biggest point I make with this review is this: McKinley Edwards Inn could be in the middle of the Mojave Desert, and I'd walk over broken glass in the middle of July to enjoy a stay at this inn! You won't have to because it's in beautiful Bryson City, but I'm saying that you'll have an amazing time! Thanks so much for the unforgettable stay, and for literally saving our anniversary getaway! We can't wait until next time!

What an amazing place! This cozy inn has clean rooms and lovely grounds to stroll to take in nature's beauty. It started our holiday season that will not be beat! The innkeepers, John Marc & Janice treat you like family. We will definitely be back! To experience each season!

The rooms are well accommodating -- the lighting is excellent (the best yet) and the towels are large and plush. The staff so very friendly and helpful. The rooftop lounge with the fire pit was fantastic. We spent considerable time enjoying sitting up there. The location of the hotel is perfect for shopping and eating. Speaking of eating, the restaurant at the hotel offers delicious meals. Don't hesitate to stay at the Everett!!

BLUF: Historic building, friendly staff, interesting rooms and a convenient location…read more My husband and I really enjoyed our one night stay at The Everett Hotel inclusive of a delicious dinner at The Bistro. We would have loved to have stayed longer but we considered ourselves lucky to get a room at all during the peak Fall season. We stayed in Room 9 which is on the third floor loft with an interesting pitched ceiling but no windows. The room was great for afternoon napping and it was just footsteps away from the rooftop deck. For a longer stay we would have probably preferred a room on the second floor with windows. I love American history, architecture and Americana so staying in this old circa 1904 bank was fabulous. We even took a peak at the old bank vault that is now used as a wine cellar and pantry inside the restaurant. The hotel staff here is top notch. Everyone was so welcoming and I appreciate that the hotel called before our stay to see if we wanted to make a reservation in The Bistro. The Bistro is a small, quaint, refined restaurant that books full for its dinner service so it's nice that they make sure hotel guests have an opportunity to book first. Our dinner in the Bistro was fabulous - I had the filet while my husband had the Ettouffee. We also had breakfast at The Bistro the following morning which was also very good. In addition to the five-star staff and cozy room, we loved the location of The Everett Hotel. It was walking distance to everything in town including shops, restaurants and the train station. It was also a short drive to Smoky Mountain National Park. As an added bonus, it is right next door to the Swain County Heritage Museum. We were conveniently able to park behind the hotel. Other conveniences we appreciated were the filtered water and coffee in the hallway. A special shoutout to Daniel who made us feel so welcomed.

My boyfriend and I don't need much and usually like to find off-the-beaten-path places but something about this little house in town spoke to me. I can not express how perfect it was for us! Very nice, character house and very comfortable. Rooms are cozy with antique furniture and a "your grandma's house" kinda feel. Breakfast was AMAZING.... I'm a southern girl and look forward to country breakfast and this beat out any breakfast I've had in a while! Price is VERY VERY reasonable for the hospitality and amenities offered. We are adventurers and adrenaline seekers so I wasn't sure how the B&B speed would work for us (we never want to be the "rowdy ones", coming in muddy or late and disturbing the "romanticals"). This Inn is perfect for EVERYONE. During our stay, there were 2 families with children, a backpacking couple, the musicians that played the Saturday night show at the local brewery, and of course us (rafting/biking/hiking and a little bit drunk each night). You will be comfortable here, no matter what you're speed. The best part of this whole experience is the Innkeeper, Luke, and his wife Layla. What an amazing, interesting guy! And so kind and hospitable. I would go back to this place just to get a chance to hang out with this guy more! STAY HERE. You'll love it.

Terrible Experience - Unprofessional Business Practices…read more I travel a lot and this tops the worst experience I have ever had with lodging. I regret I am unable to give Stonebrook Lodge zero stars due to their extremely unprofessional behavior related to our stay. My husband and I decided to schedule a Valentine weekend getaway that included a stay with Stonebrook in Bryson City, NC. We rented the jacuzzi King suite and upon arrival, I immediately noticed the jacuzzi jets were filthy. (photos attached) In the jets, you could see black mold and mildew. It was disgusting. Since we arrived so late, I notified the attendant on duty (Eloisa) the next morning and while she apologized and stated she would have this taken care of, it was a poor attempt to clean it, and it was still dirty. We did not feel safe using it. On Sunday, February 15, the entire town experienced a power outage around 11:30 am. Understanding this was not the fault of the lodge; however, there were NO provisions during the outage, and they DO NOT have a back up generator. NO ONE alerted the guests or even tried to accommodate. The power was expected to be out for more than 5 hours; therefore, we decided to check out a day early. When I spoke with the attendant on duty, her concern was the guests scheduled to check in and not the guest already there. NO ONE reached out to the guests there out of courtesy in the situation. The acknowledgement you sign states no refund if you check without giving a 24-hour notice. They do not take into consideration for this type of situation. They take no responsibility and expect the guests to assume this cost for their inconvenience. This in itself is ridiculous. There is NO attempt to provide any sort of 'customer service' for such an event. The attendant said this happens 'all the time' so you would think they would have a backup generator. I attempted to contact the manager (Lindsey) twice leaving a message and as of today, she has yet called me. NO ONE in any leadership capacity contacted me about my concerns for the refund of one day. Under NO circumstances could I recommend ANYONE stay at this establishment. They are extremely unprofessional. There is a total of 3 Stonebrook Lodges, and they all are under the same leadership.
