The other massage therapist was a little huffy, rushed to get started and cut about ten mins off the massage, talked a lot, and was incorrect in her knowledge of massage which started the whole thing off kind of weird. I know it's a little thing, but it's also a simple thing to take care of. My facial was pretty good, but I wish she would have explained what she was doing more. And, it seemed like there weren't many steps to the facial, so I kept wondering if I was getting the service I paid for. Nails went well, but they were scheduled before my massage - so, the timing ran long trying to fit in all the parts of the service and get the nails to dry. I've gone to Stonebriar Spa on and off for many years, but after my most recent visit, I will never return. I booked an 80-minute deep tissue massage on February 28 with Sheri, and it was hands down the worst massage I have ever had--by a wide margin. I've had massages all over--locally, on vacations, cruises, and even at chain locations--and nothing compares to how bad this experience was. Sheri remained seated on a stool for the entire session and focused almost exclusively on aggressively squeezing my neck and shoulders. The rest of the massage lacked any real technique. It felt more like lotion being spread on my back and legs rather than an actual massage. She even placed the lotion bottle repeatedly directly on my back in between pumps and rubbing it on me. There was no music, no relaxing atmosphere, and she talked nonstop--sharing personal stories and repeatedly boasting about how she makes athletes cry during massages. It completely ruined any chance of relaxation. Over a month later, I'm still annoyed I paid for this experience. If you book here and are assigned to Sheri, I strongly recommend requesting someone else. read more

Worst experience ever. We booked a couple's massage but then our son got very sick. We called on the day of the appointment to inform as a courtesy. We did not want to infect anyone else. We asked about what's the rule in such cases. The associate told us we will be charged $25 cancellations fees. We agreed to $25 cancellation fees. Then our bank was charged full amount. We called multiple times and someone finally called and said less than 24 hrs is full amount. That has been our policy. And their employees must not have told us either. The call was recorded, just listen to the call and know the truth. They know the employee told us $25. She was on speaker so we both heard it. There was no misunderstanding. Never going there and cautioning everyone not to waste their time or money. Worst business experience ever. read more

Awful and unbelievable. I had scheduled a 50-minute relaxing massage. The therapist brought me to the treatment room 5 minutes late and abruptly asked, "so what are we doing - neck and back?" I explained that I had made an appointment for a full body relaxing massage. She acknowledged and proceeded to push forcefully on pressure points (my low back, buttocks and upper legs) before proceeding to do the same to my neck. I thought it was odd but maybe it was therapeutic? She then plopped down on a rolling stool, spent 10+ minutes pressing on one side of my neck before rolling around and doing the same on the other side of my neck. The entire time she is talking to me and asking me questions about what I do for work and even if I was even hiring! She moved to my upper back, where she then used lotion, which she would squirt from a tube and then toss the tube on my low back or upper legs which was startling. About 15 minutes into this supposed massage, she said she needed to stop and order food because if she didn't do so she would not get a break. I said I was good and we could just conclude. I left with more tension and stress than when I arrived for an afternoon of relaxation. read more

I love the calm vibe you get in the waiting room with the lounge-y chairs and water fountain. Every service I have ever gotten there has always been excellent. I wish they offered more services and day packages! The pedicures and manicures have been the best I have ever gotten from anywhere! All of the girls who worked on me were super sweet, but the nail girl added something I didn't know I was getting charged for. The facial was ok, I wish I'd just purchased a couple of the products used and put them on myself. The masseuse was sweet, but still just very fluffy massage, not the firm pressure I'd requested in my intake form. I said I needed extra attention to my lower back and hips, she never touched them. However, I had issues with staff understanding me with a simple request to purchase two gift cards. I had attitude issues with management when asking what my options were, to split the one gift card I bought. FYI, their gift cards expire after 5 years. I could not make the extra trip to get the gift card situation right. Then, when it was time for the appointment, I had issues with the staff telling me to take care of my friend, 'because I know what to do already'....I thought was a weird thing to tell me. Then, she read the total of the services when I had expressed and it was implied that this was a gift to my friend. What was the point of using the gift card if I wanted the total to be said in front of my friend. They are unorganized, they are missing social cues, and they do not listen to customers. They do not care about fixing their own issues. I have a theory they create more stress to access their services so that the services seem extraordinary. Your first time visiting, they walk you through their different spaces - the quiet room, changing rooms, an area to get a drink, etc. The spa is clean, quiet, and has soft lighting. I had the pleasure of having Heidi give me my second facial. My first facial, I don't remember the esthetician's name, but she was wonderful and the facial was perfect. I finally decided, after thinking about it for a while, that it was finally time for me to treat myself to a nice facial. At the suggestion of my friend, I decided to make an appointment with Stonebriar Spa, and I'm SO happy I did. I made and appointment for Friday night at 5:30pm, and figured it would be a great way to end my work week and just relax the rest of the night. I arrived about 5:15 to make sure my paperwork had been submitted properly online (they send you a few reminders and the paperwork via email so that you can just walk in and initial on an ipad upon arrival). I was then guided to the women's lounge and handed a really cozy robe to change into. Since I arrived early, I decided to wait in the relaxation room with a nice full glass of white wine which totally hit the spot! A few minutes of relaxation later, my aesthetician Kelly Lynn arrived and took me back to the room set up for my facial. She was so sweet and calm in nature, I knew it was going to be a good experience just from our introduction. I quickly changed into my "facial attire" and Kelly Lynn started my 80 minute Signature Organic Facial. In between certain parts of the facial, I received a neck, shoulder, arm, and foot massage...and each of these was amazing. The entire experience was so relaxing that I actually felt like I was falling asleep, which had never happened before. When it was over, the last thing I wanted to do was get up from that bed! I had read a few other reviews that mentioned "product pushing" a the end, and I was a little nervous about this because I hate this concept in general. I have to tell you I walked right out of my facial and, when I went to pay my tab, there was no product pushing or sales of any sort. It was perfect, it was relaxing, and it made for an experience that I want to go back for at least once a month moving forward. My experience was.. fine, just fine. Way too expensive for the service I received, in my opinion. To start, I was placed in the massage room that was directly located next to the nail portion of the facility, which was unbelievably loud during my "relaxation massage". This resulted in my massage therapist leaving me mid-massage to go tell the employees/clients in the nail salon to quiet down. My therapist did not have great bedside manner from the beginning (i.e. complained about their own body aches and desire for a different occupation), but this was shocking for me. Not only did my relaxation get interrupted, but I was left feeling vulnerable and uneasy. Was also quite disappointed in the process to get a glass of wine and that there is a one glass limit. To get a glass of wine, you have to go request from the front desk staff. I did not like going out in my robe and sandals to fetch a front desk employee and intermingling with customers looking at merchandise. I felt exposed and uncomfortable. If someone came around in the quiet area and asked what you would like, or offered upon arrival instead, that would be greatly improved. As for one glass limit, I would understand if I was there for a single, hour long service, but spending hundreds of dollars and hours there, it would have been nice to have a second glass. It would have also been nice to have a wine selection, even if it was just red, white, champagne. Instead I was given a bland glass of white without being asked on preference. I get this is not a big deal, but for the time and money spent, would have been nice to have an option. Earned a third star because I did receive a facial that was very nice. The woman that gave my facial was very sweet, had great bedside manner, explained what she was doing along the way. read more

My wife came home and told me the facial she had was very professional. However, the gal who was working on her kept talking about all the products she was using and how she loved them. When my wife was leaving she was presented a bill for over $500. WTF!! They had misplaced the gift certificate and were hard core pushing products. Face and Body Day Spa, which is now named Stonebriar Spa has been ripping my hair out with ease for about seven years now, and I love them for it. The establishment is beautiful and tranquil and always relaxes me before any service. The gift shop traps you with its array of cute gifts, books, cards, and framable items. It also has tons of luxury beauty products and great leisure clothing. The waiting area is very comfortable- I've fallen asleep there many times. If you are having a massage they give you robes and sandals to change into. The locker room is clean and the lockers are computer programmed with your own code. They have bottled water, iced tea, hot tea, wine, cookies and sometimes fresh fruit- all free!!! My go to waxer is Nikki, but Toya and Ann are also great. They all make an effort to know what you want and ask you before they finish if you want something else done. They know me and keep up with my life- I don't feel like a stranger is looking at my vag.- which is great! They are fast and it doesn't hurt. She also gives me hershey kisses. I get bikini, half leg, and arms done in an hour. Bam! I love this spa. read more

Very disappointing experience yesterday. Massage therapist never showed for my 10am appointment. Staff failed to notify me and left me waiting for half an hour. I walked out front (in my robe) to find a staff person. After I inquired why I hadn't been seen, I was told to wait. I never did get a massage as planned. After waiting an hour I got dressed and sought out manager. Manager was not available. Assistant manager was unhelpful. She merely offered a sterile apology and asked when I wanted to reschedule. I was told manager would call me today. She never called. I am not upset about not getting my massage. I am upset that the staff made me feel neglected and unimportant. Zero communication. Zero effort to improve the situation. The situation was totally mismanaged by poorly trained staff. Strong customer service is key in this kind of business. When I went to make a return on product, the OWNER, Sharon Steel Medina, offered me 25% of what I paid, even WITH my receipt stating I had 30 days to return (my return was less than one week after my purchase). The product was not even out of the original packaging. Stonebriar Spa was happy to take my money when I was buying from them, but they were NOT HAPPY when I asked for money back. I just spent an entire day at this spa and it was glorious. (1) mani/pedi with Luz - great attention to detail. I'm pretty picky about my manicures and she didn't disappoint me. (2) facial - again great service. (3) cashmere polish and massage with Faith - OMG... I've had a couple of dozen massage therapists and she is the best! I highly recommend her. The atmosphere is clean and relaxing, but there were a few things that could be improved: 1) get some food. Okay, so they have pretzels and whole fruit, but when you're there for 5 hours or more you need something...anything... 2) lotion, face wash and facial mosturizer in locker room... they had just about everything else, why not that? 3) I know it's a bit hokey, but I did miss having those big, comfy massaging chairs that other spas have when you get your nails done. 4) they ran out of face towels in the locker room quite early in the day, possibly have someone check on that kind of stuff more regularly.
