This used to be a good little spot. Maybe it depends on the bartender. I recently made a quick visit, closed my tab like usual. I was reviewing my transactions the next day and noticed a different amount that was not the original amount i paid for! Not sure if this is theft or a mix up. Either way probably wont go back. This past Saturday evening, a friend and I decided to visit Stone Street Pub as we've driven by it hundreds of times and never visited. This pub is a casual neighborhood sports bar that doesn't sell food... something I didn't realize. They do allow you to order from neighboring restaurants and bring it in/ have the food delivered so its not much of a problem. My friend and I both ordered Deep Eddy Lime Vodka w/ Club Soda & Lime. Deep Eddy was the Saturday special so the prices were very reasonable at $4 per drink. The bartender, Alessandra, was very friendly and made the drinks well. Aside from the main bartender, it was hard to tell who worked at the pub vs who was just a guest and making themselves at home as two other patrons would go from drinking at the bar to going behind the bar to do some tasks to then going back to drinking. Nice little pub nestled in North SA. Great service as the bartenders are attentive, patient and friendly.

An established foot print cemented in San Antonio's growth in the North Side when LA Cantera & The Rim had just broken ground. This bar has the "traditional - let's have a beer" vibe to it but in a very hip & comeraderie way. There's no worries or concerns for incidents because the patrons, both older & younger - are there to enjoy some spirits, play some pool, darts or share war stories in the patio while chewing on a stogie. The service is excellent (I don't know how they do it with one tender, sometimes, but they sure as hell do it)! As a matter of fact, the night I went on a Thur. There must have been over 30 patrons but the tender Andrea took care of every customer with a smile on her a face and cool nerves. I can say, as a well traveled man from Europe to S. America, I was very impressed and marveled at her speed & attention-to-detail. The layout is spacious enough to recognize the dinning area, the pool & dart games, the beautiful but bold wrap-around bar in mahogany that looks like it came from Europe during King Louis the VIII's Reign, simply bad ass. Located on the North Side (Shavano Park) at the cross streets of Hurbner & Bitters Rd. It is easy ti get to, ample parking and with an entrance that looks like you are going into a "back stage" visit with Jim Morrison from The Doors. I highly recommend this bar to anyone visiting and 210 residents that just have not made it there yet! read more

A quick stop to get an ice cold beer at a local bar turned out to be very relaxing. The time of day wasn't the usual drinking hour but the atmosphere was calm, with lit candles music and comfy chairs. Definitely a drink spot when I'm in that neck of the woods again. read more

Leaving a quick review for owner, whoever your bartender is/was on Tuesday 12/05/2023 you need to have a word. As I walked in she said 'hey I'll be right there' as she was outside partying/smoking with her friends. 10 minutes later I left. Granted place was dead but her loss, I tip very well, and went to pub down the street. Hope to see a correction next time, and I'll gladly delete this, there are plenty of options in SA. read more

Stone Street is one of my favorite bars to go to to relax and just hang out. The bartenders are so sweet, too. At other places, I often have issues getting served when it's just female bartenders, but at this bar it's very fair. They definitely don't skimp on the alcohol and they always have great deals. They have a fun trivia night on Wednesdays! Annnnnd in the times I've been here, I've never encountered people looking for trouble. Management makes sure to maintain a fun atmosphere. read more

I have been in bars around the world and some I've hated and others I have loved. Stone Street is one of my favorites. Getting out of work I can come in any night of the week and be welcomed with a cold beer and a cheerful smile from one of the amazing bar staff. The bar staff makes this place what it is. No matter how busy they are the make a honest effort to talk to each guest and make you feel welcome. The place is covered in Hidef flat screens and is great for watching sporting events. The prices are fair and there is a growing rotation of live music This Bar is clean and comfortable, and the owners are amazing people. They make a point to talk to the guests and take in feedback as seasoned service industry professionals. I was here for St Pats day and it was a blast - I look forward to many many more special events here This place is def a place that should be paid a visit to. Oooh, Stone Street, I'm diggin' on you. So, pull into a *shock* strip center of local businesses and find Stone Street Pub tucked in a corner. The owner is a friendly as friendly gets. Will take the time to talk with you, ask about your day and figure out the perfect drink for your taste. Perhaps the best part about a visit to Stone Street is the drink specials. The night I was in, nearly everything was on special from beers to cocktails. Who doesn't love cheap drinks, right?! And the selection is pretty cool. You can find some great specialty beers on tap, which is something this yelper loves the most. The crowd is great, laid back but ready to have fun. I went in alone just to check it out and ended up leaving with a few new friends! It was karaoke night last time I was there, but different nights of the week, Stone Street has different happs, so call ahead or just pop in to see what pleasure may await you! read more

Never coming back here. VERY rude bartenders. Not only were they rude. They don't know how to make martinis. I politely asked how the drink was made and the bartender rolled her eyes at me and made snarky remarks. She had one of the other girls for help with my drink. Ummm... I ordered a martini.... just a basic martini.... Its not bartending rocket science... So the bartenders were only good for passing out bottles of beer. The music was way too loud. It was very crowded in there. I have no reason to go back. I would not recommend it. If a friend wants to hang out, I won't ask them to meet me there nor will I meet anyone else there. So a bunch of my friends wanted to head to Stone Street after happy hour (I had never actually been there before, so I asked how it was and the words "classy" "nice" "cool" came up). I guess this built up my expectations a bit too much. When we actually got there, it was in a nice neighborhood, the strip mall did seem pretty classy so I was like hmph maybe it's more like an ultra lounge than a pub/bar. Unfortunately, as soon as I walked in and was greeted by the smell of vomit, "classy" and "nice" instantly flew out of the window. As soon as I realized how there were maybe 6 beers on tap and the music playing was nearly nonexistent, "cool" went out as well. It was just a bunch of people hanging out. That's fine, but it didn't live up to the reputation that people were building up for me. There have been plenty of bars and pubs in Houston that I've been to and this one was nowhere near their level. At first I was going to give this place 3 stars, but I actually talked to another friend who went to school at UT and I just described the cross street (bitters and huebner), he knew exactly what I was talking about and then told me how lame he thought it was. So I decided not to pull any punches and just give Stone Street the rating it deserved: 2 stars. As for service, I spent most of the night trying to get the attention of the bartenders (my friends spent 30 mins at the bar for their Irish carbombs), so this was a feeling that was shared by many people in the group that I was with. read more

Meehh is the first thought came to mind when I thought about this bar. It didn't stand out too much, nor did I have a bad experience here. Few of our friends came here on Saturday night after dinner, around 11 PM. We sat outside since the weather is nice and the music was really loud inside (that's not a negative, just personal preference) The service is pretty quick, the bartenders were busy so they weren't exactly personal, but that was fine. I got my drinks pretty quick and drinks are nothing special about it. The bartender did came out twice and ask us if we need any drinks, which I thought was cool. The outside patio is nice, but can be smoky. We entertained ourselves and they have two TVs outside. Overall my experience is good here, I didn't particular love or hate the place. If I'm in the neighborhood, I would swing by. read more

I wanted to do some Sunday drinking and ended up here. It was dead except for a couple of meat heads playing some video game in the corner. They did have Victoria on tap but I found the place to be lacking in general. It does look nice with lots of tv's and places to sit. The bar is a pretty stained concrete which was slightly sticky-ew. The service was mildly inattentive but not overly bad.There just wasn't anything that made the place stick out to me at all. Plus, getting into the parking lot is a little tricky if you're not paying attention. I'd meet friends here if they chose it but I would not suggest it. read more

WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS BAR!? This place WAS a perfect neighborhood bar. People enjoy coming for the quiet chill environment and cheap drinks. I'm not sure what flipped a switch at this place. The service we had wasn't bad, but wasn't friendly like we usually have... typically the bar tenders treat their customers like family but it was all bar tenders I have never seen working their before, and weren't the nicest about asking to see my ID every time I ordered a drink which was getting kind of frustrating. But the main reason why I probably won't be back for a while is the fact that TWO drinks cost $40. Two. One of my friends ordered 2 drinks as well and they were charged $20 for two drinks. That is insanely expensive and really disappointed with my experience there and the new staff. Hopefully things change to have us come back, but as for now I don't think I'd enjoy returning. read more

I wish there was a 00 option. I just got off of work, and headed there with a couple of buddies from work. I stayed behind to answer a phone call and they got in fine, I walked up and there was San Antonio P.D. at the door asking for I.D's. Because I asked why is San Antonio P.D. guarding the door instead of brandishing my I.D., I immediately had an officer in my face accusing me of being drunk, pushing me off of the sidewalk and the next thing I knew I was in handcuffs!!! WTF!!! My friends rushed out and told them I was just off of work and everything was cool, but the officer said that I had bloodshot eyes and I shouldn't be drinking. Of course they had to let me go as I was not intoxicated. IF YOU WANT TO GO TO JAIL JUST FOR WALKING UP TO THE DOOR JUST VISIT THIS SHIT-HOLE!!! read more

I like this place. The atmosphere is nice, but casual. It's smokey, yes, but not so much so that it's uncomfortable for a nonsmoker such as myself. The bartenders are a little stand-offish, but drinks are cheap so I let it slide. They have many TVs and comfy seating, too. No food! I can't even fathom a bar with no food! But, they do have a pretty addictive arcade game that goes by the name "Top Golf".

I normally used to like this bar until the last time I went and they ended up overcharging me. I'm pretty sure it was on purpose too since I bought rounds at a time, it's easier to add an extra drink. When paying out, they just charged my card and didn't give me an itemized receipt. After asking for one, I confirmed it and had then remove the additional drinks. Otherwise, it's not too bad of a place. read more

Stone street is one my favorite rotational bars! The drink prices are reasonable with a special most every night. The staff here is very friendly and have never had a bad experience. Seems like the crowd is pretty mellow which makes for drama free nights. What's cool is they play music videos to go along with the music. Stone street is def worth checking out! I wanted to like this place. Especially since it is the only bar in the area and would be a really convenient regular spot for us. Unfortunately, we won't be going back. At first glance when you walk in, it seems cool. There are tons of TVs, seating options (even couches!) and everyone seems very comfortable. But the smell... I couldn't tell if it was a sewage problem, or if their bar pipes were molding over, but it was straight nasty. The drinks were average and the bar tenders did a good job checking on everyone to make sure they had full drinks. At the end of the night though, our receipt had only a total on it and did not list out the itemized prices. My husband always checks receipts and finds mistakes extremely frequently, so he's a bit of a stickler about this... when he asked for an itemized receipt, the bartender had a little attitude about it, but brought it anyway, slapping it down on the counter. Not only was it messed up (three of the same drinks charged at two different prices, with a 'happy hour' excuse, but the two happy hour drinks were charged at a higher price than the regular drink....) it also included a 75 cent credit card fee?! Ok, we realize it's only 75cents, but this is 2014 and everyone uses plastic... 75 cents per customer (that everyone obviously just pays without knowing because the receipts are only totals!!) really adds up for the bar. Just seems like a shady thing to do. Either roll the price into drinks, or post signs that there is a fee and be upfront about it... and print it on the receipt the first time! Hiding it and hoping that drunk customers maybe won't notice, or that the amount is too small to care? Wrong. Anyway, we paid in cash out of principle, and they fixed the problem with the drinks... with an attitude. The bartender was super snotty about it, rolled her eyes and tried to say she 'hooked us up' (um, no, fixing your mistake is not a 'hook-up.') Bad business, Stone Street. I'm obviously not the only reviewer leaving comments about the rude staff either... and you lost more customers that were seriously in search of a regular hangout spot. read more

great bar to hangout n chill outside (umbrella shades and 2 huge tvs) also has touch tunes so u can pick your own music. Inside is a little dark, but what bar isnt? They have long circle bar with couches and seating on one side of it, and more tvs, pool table, and darts. on the other. TRY THE BLOODY MARY! I've been here a few times and there really is nothing special about this place. I went this past Saturday for a few beers and some appetizers. They didn't have any beers outside of the "mainstream" ones and the cheese fries we got were awful. They weren't warm all the way through and the cheese had hardened on them. I really wanted to like this place because I had enjoyed the location when it was Bostons, but the food, drinks, and atmosphere were all lack luster and I doubt we will be going back. read more
