Bewildered by the ridiculous decision to brand their restaurant as "tip free" while simultaneously forcing patrons to pay a 17.5% tip, regardless of service or menu prices. The food was not good enough to warrant this sort of obligatory price increase. How scummy.

The pizza is probably one of the best pizza I have ever had. I started with the salad it was so fresh and the creamy dill dressing was unbelievable! The staff was incredible.

Roasted garlic, pickled onions, spinach, mushrooms, bacon and white sauce. Yumm!

Okay, if you hild your breath and druve through Fairfax without stopping...you could totally make it! That is how tiny "downtown" Fairfax is. With that being said, there are quit a few pizza places to select for options within the town itself. Out of the pizza establishments this one is my favorite. You certainly pay for what you ask for (yummy pizza) but keep that in mind. $$$ The establishment used to be a family bakery. They are hitting this business off with a bang though! Great customer service, friendly atmosphere. Clean environment for sure! I will be coming bakc for some more pie!

The polpettina and the grazer, both highly recommended.

Great pizza, great vibe. The ingredients were so fresh. The pies were creative in the very best sense. Services very friendly and helpful. Small but balanced selection of beers. Place was hopping on a Sunday night just a week or so after they opened...a very good sign for them and an indication of the quality of the food.

I've been wanting to try this place out for awhile and finally did! They're pizzas are well worth it and the cannolis were good. The only downside was the cannolis were a little small for the price, but everything was beyond delicious!

Great traditional pizza tossing in action here.

Some of the best pizza we've had anywhere, let alone so close to home! They do a perfect blend of spices and have very creative choices.

Bait and Switch We are back again and reviewing after…read moreseveral visits. Each time we have done the omnivore tasting menu ($60 pp). Sometimes it's GREAT and sometimes it's meh to good. Tonight we had the halibut as our main with samples of other items and it left us put off and hangry by meal's end mainly because of the gaslighting. I'll explain. We started with the carrot and white bean hummus accompanied by cucumber and crispy focaccia and seed dukkah. This course was followed by a"secret" menu item, the gem salad which we've had previously and had hoped for something else. The third item interesting was also NOT on the daily menu... it was a greenbean dish with ??? because, well, the ingredients and dish didn't match the menu!. When asking about the discrepancy I was told the chef was being "whimsical" and decided to put this together (??!?!!??!) but it was similar the the stated menu item ( broccolini). When comparing the ingredients it didn't jive. I call B* frankly and think it is more of a bait and switch with lesser ingredients at a premium price. This is not the first time this has occurred and I will not be back because I feel it is dishonest. Yes, the food is excellent in taste, good on quality, tiny in portion size if i'm honest and I don't think it should be done. 2/5 or 40% of items served were " secret" items... yeah right. Anyhoo, the main did match the description -halibut- and the dessert(strawberry basil cremee) with extra added olive cake was as described too. The temperature inside can and has varied with each visit. I recommend eating inside if AC is working. Noted also the staff has been less attentive (water refills and adult beverage orders). Growing pains, maybe. Resting on laurels, perhaps.

Definitely the best meal of our long Memorial Day weekend in Burlington. We were really looking…read moreforward to this visit since reading that chef Paul Trombly was nominated for a Beard award. The only downside of our visit was having to wait nearly 30 minutes past our reservation time. It is a very small dining space, and when folks won't vacate their tables, there's not much to be done. There are tables outside in a "streatery," but it wasn't al fresco weather. Fortunately, the food made up for the wait. The menu is laid out in a series of shareable, mostly vegetable small plates, concluding in two or three proteins (meat or fish dishes), and desserts. We started with Smashed cucumber salad, Green garlic borek, and Garlicky green beans. Everything was delicious. I then had the Duck breast shish, which was fabulous! They were out of the fish, but substituted Scallops, which M said were very good. B had Fried haloumi, which she really enjoyed. Served with a good red wine (in cute cafeteria tumblers!). For dessert, there was Olive oil cake and a vanilla Creemee sundae. They were both excellent. Our server Allie was special, very engaging and in control of the table. We were appreciative that chef Trombly dropped by the table for a nice chat. Definitely going back next time!
