I don't typically write reviews but I feel so compelled to do it this time especially when people work with such professionalism and integrity. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Dylan Barr is not just a stone installation guy - he's a professional who cares! I hired Dylan to stone the backdrop of my pool and jacuzzi which he did beautifully. Afterwards, I hired a company to re-do the flooring of my entire backyard which called for a new drainage system. Unfortunately, I don't have a positive review to share about them. They were to pour concrete to prepare for the laying of very large limestone tiles. The concrete was so poorly laid out that it all had to come up days later. I obviously was not willing to continue with the same people and wanted to look for a different solution. Dylan was there at the time this was happening and he took it upon himself to do what he could to help. Well let me tell you, Dylan took over!!! The job called for large tiles throughout the entire yard plus the bullnose edge around the pool. I also needed a new drainage system back there. Dylan took it upon himself to learn about a new drainage system that I guess was new on the market at that time - he called the manufacturer, watched their training videos and thought it would be a good option for my yard. All I can say is that he re-built my entire backyard, installed this amazing drainage system - and laid 45 square inch limestone tiles to perfection. You can see in the photos the seams between the tiles, that is where the water drains. There are crates just below the large tiles. It's an amazing system. This kind of dedication and professionalism is rare. He went above and beyond. HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM - HE DOES NOT DISAPPOINT! read more

Dylan and his team did a beautiful job installing Silestone counters in our kitchen. Communication was always prompt and easy and he was able to get the suede finish we wanted, something the previous company we considered working with was unable to do. The removal of the previous countertop was clean and the timing between demo and installation allowed us to repair the drywall under the old backsplash to prepare for the much smaller new backsplash. And as you can see in the photo I attached, he even made sure that all the veins in the stone matched and connected from the countertop to the backsplash. Most impressive of all was the fact that two years after the installation, we asked Dylan if an adjustment could be made to the counter to allow for a new appliance. With no hesitation, Dylan sent his guys to do the job. You can be confident that Dylan stands by his work. read more

Stone LA - a close up view of a concrete slab - Countertop Installation Near Me - Los Angeles, California

Dylan and his team installed a marble countertop in our kitchen. We are delighted with every step of the installation, start to finish. We had a lot of questions; Dylan was patient in answering them. Dylan offered suggestions, but didn't push us to follow them. Dylan saw that I cook every day so he made it a point to minimize our kitchen's down time. Dylan was the most professional of the installers from whom we got estimates and his price was much lower than the others. read more

I've never been that into superheroes. I mean, they're pretty cool but never really saved me from danger or peril. Stone LA is the closest experience I've had to a superhero. After spending a couple weeks planning a project, waiting for a slab, dealing with measurements, etc, we wound up canceling our job with a competitor because the marble slab they offered us was terrible and they did not offer any other options. At that point, we'd been living in the middle of a remodel with no counters (and that means no kitchen sink, dishwasher, etc) for weeks. I hit up Dylan in hopes he could save the day, or at least get me a reasonable quote. That was last Tues. By the end of the day, he worked out a reasonable quote and sent me photos of a beautiful marble slab. His crew and him came the next day to take measurements and made really smart recommendations. Everything was installed on Monday while I was out of town. That's 6 days from my initial contact. I came home to beautiful, perfect countertops. It sounds like a small thing, but it really isn't. These guys are total pros. Da-da-daaaaa: MARBLE MAN read more

Exceeded Our Expectations! We were searching for someone to replace our tired brown circa 1999 granite countertops with Ceasarstone. We received 4 estimates from various contractors. This may seem a little overboard but we have had some underwhelming experiences with previous contractors. Stone LA was not the cheapest of our four estimates but we felt that they were the most knowledgeable and professional. We were impressed with the suggestions for details which Dylan offered. His crew did an amazing job on the demolition, keeping my tumbled marble backsplash completely intact, and leaving everything clean & tidy. We were even more impressed when Dylan called to tell us that the job would be installed before the end of the following week. Every detail of our countertops were designed and installed with the greatest of care by Dylan and his expert team. We feel like we have a whole new kitchen with our "Dreamy Marfil" Ceasarstone countertops. If you're looking for the best, look no further than Stone LA. read more

We used Stone LA to put in Carrera marble countertops in our kitchen. Dylan & his team were very professional, accommodating, and reasonably priced. Rather than demolishing our existing counters, he fulfilled our request of applying the marble as a veneer over counters. The marble counters came out beautifully! Stone LA's fabrication of the marble design was top quality, with attention to every detail. Installation was very professional as well. We highly recommend Stone LA for every type of remodel & new construction. We'll definitely use Stone LA in the future for all our stone & tile needs. The Snedden's Culver City, CA read more

Had them come out to do our kitchen counters and 2 bathrooms in our condo downtown. The Yelpers were right again, these guys are a class act. We couldn't decide to do Cambria Quartz or Limestone, but after talking about the pro's and con's of both with the contractor, and the finishes, we went with Limestone and couldn't be happier. It made our average looking condo into an amazing space. Everyone that visits us comments on the countertops! They came on time, got the work done beautifully and didn't overcharge one nickle (you know how some contractors like to add on "extras"). I really couldn't be happier and I'll be recommending them to others. read more

I highly recommend Stone LA to anyone who is considering their services. I found Stone LA by searching online. I was looking for a custom tabletop for my dining room table base. I spoke to Dylan about what I wanted; he provided a quote and described the process. Afterwards, I continued my search to see the other options out there. I eventually came back to Stone LA because Dylan was honest in his quote and, more importantly, gave me the most confidence that he could deliver what I wanted. After that, the process was quick and easy. I provided Dylan with some images from websites depicting the type of stone I desired as well as a photo of my table base. In a day or two, Dylan and his team came to my place to measure the base and see what needed to be done. During the process, I changed my mind re the type of stone I wanted and Dylan was accommodating; he provided photos of what was available at the quarry and we found a stone that worked. In the end, the process took a mere two weeks (maybe less) and Stone LA delivered a beautiful tabletop. As I said before... I highly recommend Stone LA to anyone who is considering their services. You will be pleased. read more

Dylan and his crew did a FANTASTIC job fabricating and installing all the marble at a house I built. Their craftsmanship and attention to detail were both very impressive. Unlike so many vendors who seek to "get in and out quickly" , Dylan truly goes above-and-beyond to please his clients. I highly recommend Stone LA. read more

I don't hand out 5 stars. I'm demanding and you have to earn it with me. Dylan with Stone LA deserves it. The only mistake he made was that his install guys lost a part to screw back in the expensive faucet i have. Dylan personally showed up the next day within an hour of my call to remedy the situation. He hand tooled a part on the back of his truck, met the plumbers and screwed the faucet back in perfectly. That's why he got the 5 stars. You'll listen to him talk at the initial meeting and be like "this guy is either an amazing con man or he actually knows everything about stone." He actually knows everything about stone. He went on and on about what cutting methods they'd use on my countertop and every step of the process. And unlike some other reviews, he actually was the cheaper bid. It's scary handing over the initial check with someone i don't know but Dylan turned out to be a good bet for me. Phew! Advice: always get multiple bids and let him know what he has to beat. read more

Dylan was great all the way through and was very professional about offering advice related to the very small job. What impressed me even more was Dylan's crew. They had to work together on the job in the small kitchen to get it done in one day and their work was very good. They were so pleasant to be around while helping each other out on the job even when under some pressure to get in and out. The whole crew is everything I could want in an installation/manufacturing team. read more

When our plumber was trying to remove an old kitchen faucet he broke the granite around the faucet hole. We kept all of the broken pieces and Dylan and his colleague were able to repair it with a couple of forms of epoxy in two or three hours of work. It is impossible to see that it had ever been broken. And they cleaned the area impeccably before leaving. Dylan is an extremely personable fellow and it's easy to see why he's getting the great Yelp reviews. I'm happy to add to the list. read more

This company does phenomenal work and I would recommend them to any of my family or friends because I know their work is done the right way.

We contacted Dylan to provide quartz (Pental) countertop based purely on Yelp reviews, and it ended up being the best experience we could have hoped for! We researched multiple countertop options and received four bids for the work -- Stone LA was very cost competitive and differentiated themselves by providing a five-business-day turnaround from measurement to installation. The norm in the area seems to be 2-3 weeks; which would be a frustrating delay if you're trying to live in the house while you're remodeling. Dylan really helped us out in figuring how to scope/estimate the project, providing insights into buying and measuring for materials. He was able to get our preferred material slightly below the price we expected. Mitered edges (an upgrade for some companies) was provided standard. His crew was friendly, professional, fast, and above all, the work quality is exceptional! We can hardly see the lines where the slabs join. I know our project lead has already hired them for several more jobs based on how well they performed work for us. These guys really know their stuff, and I heartily recommend them! read more

If you want a company that is going to show up when they say, I would not recommend Stone LA, especially if you live in the South Bay as it seemed to be a far distance for them to get out too. I spoke with Dylan in the morning to confirm when they would be there, and he said not a problem. They showed up 2 hrs late and never called to say they were running late. Frustrating waiting around for them to show up and no courtesy call to let me know they were running late. In addition, this was my second time having them repair the same crack in my granite. It was repaired a year and half ago and they said it shouldn't crack again..actually Dylan pretty much guaranteed their work. The crack came back in a big way and I got charged the same amount (with a small discount). When I initially booked the appointment I explained what the issue was with the crack. Apparently in order to repair the crack properly, I would have needed to remove all the plumbing (i.e. sink faucet, etc). This should have been brought to my attention when we initially spoke. Instead, while their repairman was already at my home, I was told the plumbing should have been removed....clearly to late for me to get a plumber there. So they couldn't even do the job properly. The repairman did the best he could with apoxy, but couldn't remove the granite and really fix it the way it should be fixed. At the same time, I got charged the same amount minus a small discount. To sum it up, it seemed to be a hassle for them to come to the South Bay and be there when they said they would. I would not recommend this company. read more

Great job. Had a crack in my kitchen granite. Is it fixed 100% perfectly? No. But he offered me two choices, one MUCH cheaper than the other, and I went with the cheap one. Again, great job. He was very upfront, came RIGHT AWAY (really, this alone makes him worth working with) and could not have been nicer. I will be telling others (besides you, dear reader) to use him. read more

The granite counters in my condo had been installed honed and wire brushed, which gave them a nice aesthetic look at first, but quickly led to them being dirty and impossible to clean. I was hoping to get them smoothed out and found Stone LA on yelp, and figured I would give them a call. Dylan was a consummate professional from the very beginning. He said he thought he could accomplish the look I was hoping for, but came out to run some tests to make sure. He was very honest from the beginning, telling me he could smooth them out but that it would probably not look like brand new counter tops. However his price was very reasonable, and we decided to go ahead with the project. They were very flexible in accommodating my schedule, coming out on a Saturday to do the work. Despite the fact that this was probably a two day job, Dylan and his assistant worked for around 14 hours trying to make my counters look the best they possibly could. They essentially had to assemble a workshop in my condo to keep things from getting dirty, but did it in a way that I could still get around without having to disrupt their work. At the end of the day, the counters looked much better, but Dylan admitted it was not quite the look he was hoping for. He offered to come back and apply some different sealants to try to achieve the finish we were both hoping for. He came back two separate times with different products, and finally managed to get the counters looking great. He continually stressed that his goal was my satisfaction, and I feel he went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure I was pleased with the final result. Dylan is extremely friendly, prompt and easy to work with. His customer service is outstanding, he is honest, and very reasonably priced. I talked to a few other stone work companies and nobody else was willing to even think about attempting this type of project. Not only did Dylan attempt it, he finished it with great results. I am extremely happy that I did business with him, and I would recommend his services to anybody with a stonework project! read more

After searching the internet for stone countertop fabricators and installers we discovered Stone LA and were impressed with their 5 star rating. Dylan, Karl and team Stone LA fabricated and installed Quartz countertops which exceeded our expectations and in a very timely manner. They have a high level of craftsmanship, customer service and professional integrity that is hard to find. Dylan truly cares about about customer input and satisfaction and we would not hesitate to use them again. read more

I found Stone LA through yelp and after calling around I decided to have them cut my granite slab (left over from a bathroom remodeling project) for a custom furniture that was being made. Dylan was very helpful from the start. We communicated via email and phone. His price was reasonable, job was prompt and everything was very efficient. Considering that this job was probably small potato in terms of business, I was very happy. read more

We were remodeling our kitchen and wanted stone countertops. At first I was pretty set on soapstone, but Dylan managed to find me a gorgeous piece of honed virginia mist granite (not easy to find in LA). It looks like soapstone, but its more durable and much cheaper. It doesn't get better than that! Dylan guided me throughout the process and even managed to install our counters earlier than planned. The workmanship was great too. Dylan has earned all his 5-star reviews! read more

When I was doing construction on my home, I interviewed many, many people to install the tile and granite. Dylan was by far the most professional and personable. I felt confident that the work would be done correctly which I discovered during the construction was not always the case. When I saw an area that the grout had separated a tinsy tiny bit (I was the only one that noticed it) he came back and redid the grout at no charge. I recommend Stone LA to everyone that is doing any tile and granite work, especially if you are a perfectionist like me. Deena A read more

I cannot recommend Stone LA enough!!! Dylan (and his crew) did a great job with a custom build tabletop for out kitchen/ dining room table. Dylan was very knowledgeable and patient, taking enough time to educate us and make us feel comfortable with our final selection. He drove to meet with us to show samples twice (and even came to meet me at work, so that the job would not get delayed). What impressed me the most was that Dylan, after we had picked and agreed on a specific material, called and offered to look at other options as he wanted us to "be extremely satisfied!!!" He really did not have to do this, but that fact that he did speaks to his high ethical and professional standards. We have had our table for a few months and are EXTREMELY happy with it (and the entire process of getting it). Thank you very much, Stone LA. read more

We bought a house that had ceramic tile countertops and back splashes. We didn't want to gut the entire kitchen but it clearly needed freshening up. We contact Dylan. He was prompt with the appointment and very helpful in guiding us through the myriad of options. We landed on a countertop and backsplash. We had to carefully plan out the installation around several other contractors. His team was great, they were very careful in their work and cleaned up after each day. The results are incredible. The kitchen looks new. I would recommend Stone LA to anyone interested in updating their kitchen without the expense of a total remodel read more

After my mother-in-law died my husband decided to remodel the kitchen of her home. Since we live in San Diego and his mother's home was in Los Angeles I began an Internet search for contractors. After reading some reviews on Yelp about Stone LA I spoke with Dylan via e-mail and arranged for him to give us an estimate for kitchen countertops. He went to the jobsite and e-mailed me with his drawings and estimate for the work and also referred me to a good place to purchase the countertop material. Dylan installed the material on schedule and the result was absolutely perfect. All this was accomplished without ever having met Dylan in person. I chose Dylan and Stone LA because of the reviews I had read on Yelp, and after my personal experience with them I can reinforce the positive opinions I had read. I would definitely use Dylan and Stone LA for any other projects I might untertake. read more

Stone LA did a beautiful job on our counter tops. When it came to pay, Dylan over charged me $220. I didn't notice this at first and paid the bill in full. I double checked the contract and carefully measured the counters and found his error. Dylan said he would chech his numbers but he had already done it three times. This is a skilled craftsman who can cut granite and polish is down to a thirty second of an inch and he overcharged me for five and a half extra feet. Dylan finally admitted over charging me $100 for counting a window ledge two times and asked if it could just be a gratuity. I emailed him my measurements and numbers and asked him to show me where I was wrong. In the end Dylan agreed my measurements and numbers were correct and we resolved the billing. I cannot believe this was an honest mistake on Dylan's part. If it was an honest mistake, when I first mentioned it he should have made it right but instead he continued with more "mistakes." In my experience, when it comes to the price of the job and him keeping his agreements, Dylan cannot be trusted. He never appologised for the mistake and the huge effort I had to make to straighten it out. read more
