Was hesitant with such mixed reviews. But overall glad we went. Service and ambiance were very…read morenice. We started with the local bread with olive oil. Not the best bread I've ever had but pretty good. Also got the patatas bravas which for me was my favorite dish. Super flavorful. We got two dishes the Spring cavatelli and the moosewood burger. The burger was really good but the pasta is where I could see why some people threw around the word bland. I don't want to say it was bad, it just was very light and didn't have a rich flavor like most pasta dishes. We got the matcha panna cotta to go which was also pretty good. Overall I think it just depends on the dish you get but I was fully expecting straight up bland food based on other reviews but that wasn't the case. The cavatelli could use a little work though. Overall it was nice.

Food is okay. We…read moretried the lasagna and strozzapretti- I wish the pastas were homemade, but at least they were prepared well. Al dente and good flavors. I would eat these again. We also tried the thai curry, burrata, peach salad. The peaches were not ripe, but the crunch was a nice textural component. Burrata and curry were fine. I wish the curry was spicier. I liked the thin ribbons of cucumber in the burrata dish though. Maybe I am being too harsh... I had rather high expectations coming into Moosewood, and the food wasn't bad per se, but nothing really wowed me. I would eat here again, but I wouldn't seek it out.

A super cute spot to enjoy an outdoor breakfast, especially if you are staying at La Tourelle!…read more The menu options are pretty hearty, and most of the menu options are part of the full brunch which is around 20 bucks and comes with an entree and various entree additions like fruit, pastries, coffee, etc. That's a lot for brekkie, so if you are feeling a lighter route they offer some a la carte sandwiches and sides. You can build your own breakfast sandwich with choice of egg style, cheese, meat and bread. They have a few locally made sourdough options that are absolutely stellar. The sandwich was delicious, but I do wish that the menu had some more light options. Iced coffee was strong and there's liquor onsite which means you can order a mimosa to pair with brunch. They have various indoor / outdoor seating options and the patio was really lovely. Service was speedy and friendly.

Speaking of the decor, the bathroom on the first floor featured a beautiful antique sink ornamented with depictions of various birds. Very cool! The full breakfast is a nice deal at 18.95 for coffee, fruit juice, fruit cup, pastry and entree. My friend enjoyed the eggs Benedict and I enjoyed a waffle. The waffle was a little cold when it arrived at the table, but not a huge deal since I had coffee. Service was a bit slow and the server really seemed like she did not want to be there or was having a really bad day which was honestly the only thing supremely detracting from our experience. This place could easily merit 5 stars with better service. Walk around before or after you meal to take in some of the exterior including the sunflowers, ducks and mural.

French Mussels broth perfectly paired with truffle fries. Reports back on the Green Ramen, Ribeye and Bolognese dishes were very good. I think I out ordered them though.

I've had brunch, lunch, and dinner at MIX, and all with varying levels of enjoyment. My recent…read morebrunch experience included ordering a Where the West Begins omelette, which includes "Braised short rib, butternut squash, red onion jam, spinach, smoked gouda". I wasn't sure how to feel about butternut squash with everything else (I'm not necessarily a huge squash fan - but I'm trying to learn to enjoy it), but the omelette was decent... it's the other side on my plate that looked less than appetizing. The biscuit was still covered in flour (and who wants to bite down on a clump of flour?), the cheddar hashbrown casserole lacked in flavor, and the brown sugar cinnamon oatmeal just... wasn't doin' it for me. Other recent experiences have been similar... there's usually one item on the plate that's flavorful or imventive (sometimes a main dish, sometimes a side), and the other parts of the plate are lacking. In reality, I think MIX is suffering a bit from rising food costs and inconsistency in their service and offerings. They've also changed the style of their menu from the original tapas-style to now being more typical entree options. Again... they've lost some of their innovative, experimental approach. In terms of ambiance, it really depends. I've been here for a work event and, because of the number of people, it was SO LOUD... they had also done a buffet offering for the event. As you can imagine, the food from the buffet was lacking, but that's often what happens when you're more mass producing your food (and it's left in a chafing dish, trying to be kept warm). On the other hand, I've been here for a dinner on a random night and was able to enjoy one of their Thai noodle bowls (and split some other apps with friends). The reality is that experiences at MIX are... well... a mix. Whether service, menu offerings, etc., I've found MIX's recent inconsistencies to be a disappointment. Will probably only visit in the future if it's suggested by others.
