I recently discovered stolen sun while driving down route 100. I have not heard of this brewery previously. There is plenty of parking. The food menu is extensive but the kitchen was closed on my visit but there was a food truck present. There is a pretty large selection but I think the owners need to get the word out. read more

Waiting more than an hour for our food with her all extensive menu in about 10 total things. Place is ridiculous. You have to go get your own menu stained with oil and beer that clearly was printed in somebody's house with a bad ink cartridge, I want you to go inside and actually order, you food doesn't seem to come out for more than an hour. If you have kids (even well behaved ones sitting at the table) you won't be welcomed. The signs posted everywhere advising to keep your kids under control are excessive and borderline condescending. Had 3 kids with us under the age of 5 sitting at our table and we could feel the eyes watching us like hawks to make sure the kids didn't do so much as to get up from the table. Very uncomfortable. Hadn't been here in 4 years and needless to say we didn't miss much nor will we be back - childless or not. And yes...the children did go over to your "expensive wall" but were told to not touch it and yes...they were holding unsharpened pencils so there was no instance of defacing it. They had a limited food menu of about 5 items, today, this Sunday. The reasoning was because staffing issues, but at 2pm they had a reservation of many folks in another room start coming in. Workers started bringing down pots and condiments from the 2nd floor, and which appeared to be a whole new menu. We witnessed about 5 parties turn away after they saw the limited menu. One table complained about the pastrami/ Rachel sandwich being cold and cheese not melted and the manager said it's supposed to be somewhat cold and cheese melted. We had the Rachel's, and swiss cheese not melted. Beers we had were good, but unfortunately - we most likely won't be back. read more

This is a special place for sure, never disappoints. Friendly owner and staff. Perfect place to chill and grab great tasting beverages and catch some live music inside and outside. They offer a nice selection of awesome tasting fresh food with their small kitchen and were able to accommodate even myself with my long list of allergies. If you're like me, and need special attention for food, try to go when it's not busy, as they have been able to Serve me items I personally felt comfortable with. Then post a poor review (only one). Dummy. Prices are market researched and appropriate for the quality and quantity given. Point made. This place is the new hit of Chester county! Love this place. Any brewery that opens in Downingtown has to deal with living in the shadow of Victory. This place does not let down. Food is better than Victory Wait to be seated is shorter than Victory Outdoor seating is better than Victory The food and drink is delicious and fast. There is an awesome outdoor seating area with outdoor games. It's really nice that this place is set off of rt 100, because you don't even realize the road is there, and it makes the outdoor seating area feel much more private. Absolute incompetent, disgusting establishment. Went to see some comedy show. Show was not the issue. Issue is just generally walking into this frat house warehouse. Had to get your own water from a cooler. Waitress was incompetent, at best. Actually all of them were. Took our order, then food was not run out for over 1.5 hours. To that end, no food was run for over an hour to many complaining patrons. When food finally arrived, it was inaccurate, no napkins or utensils were brought out. Had to get up, track down the elusive waitress and ask for things to be corrected. It was pure incompetence on every level. And the bearded idiot (I presume owner) just stood around and watched the comedy show. No awareness of what was going on around him, no expediting of orders, oblivious to unsatisfied patrons. If Gordon Ramsey himself walked into this dump, he would not care to help this sinking ship. If you want the most disastrous service, experience of your life, go here. And just tell the owner and whoever else runs this place to do themselves a favor and close up shop. This place is an embarrassment. read more

We had a blast here. We stopped in to sample beer and coffee. We only had appetizers to eat. The food was good. The real deal is the coffee and beer. They really like to brew the IPA's here. I did have a coffee stout that was really tasty. I did like my beers after two flights. They had 14 beers on tap and one on cask. My wife had the bourbon aged coffee. I tasted it and we both loved it. We brought home a bag of their beans. They do their own roasting. We need to come back for breakfast. We will be back. read more

Just found out about this hidden gem. It is very well hidden behind the UFC gym off Pottstown Pk. It's very affordable, I don't know about the food but it definitely looks worth it and delicious. The beer selection is good however due to my dietary issues I could only get the cider ( Little Round Hop). I just wish they had more choices for ciders so I'm not stuck with one, and another thing is the bathroom seems to be on the second floor and they only have stairs, no way for a physically disabled person who comes to visit to be able to go to the bathroom, unless they have a hidden bathroom on the first floor. But definitely worth a visit. 4oz beer is between $2-$3 10oz is between $4-$5 and 16oz is between $6-$7. (I was informed they do in fact have restrooms on the first floor by the owner) read more

In town for an event and love craft breweries do thought we'd check out Stolen Sun. Loved the atmosphere and staff was friendly and engaged. We were starving so ordered wings and 2 meals. Siracha Honey wings were on point. They smoke their own meat out back which was a nice surprise. The meals were average but nothing noteworthy. The beers..... Hazy Hop was the winner from my flight. Really good, on the lighter side and smooth. On the other end of the spectrum was the sour.. Really bad, almost undrinkable. The IPA was solid but the cider was below average, not enough flavor and a bit watery. All in all, despite a few hiccups, I would go back. They had live music Saturday night which was a nice touch. Stopped here on a Saturday afternoon and got a spot at the bar. The place is massive, seating at the bar, downstairs, upstairs, as well as outside. Had the Sweet Tang beer - wow! So delicious. Tasted just like the tang drink mix. We were a little hungry so we got the chips and guacamole. The guacamole was extremely fresh and chips were good. We had an impromptu gathering of @ 16 individuals (all fully vaccinated) to celebrate my wife's birthday. What started out as a stop to check the place out on a Wednesday afternoon ended in a phenomenal outing Friday evening. First, Katie greeted me Wednesday and advised that they had a garden atmosphere out back that might work. Boy did it! It is a tranquil setting with a small creek running by. After 5 minutes there you had no idea that busy route 100 was a few hundred yards away. Katie advised that GM Owen would call later Wednesday to confirm availability and advise of COVID safety requirements. Owen called, as promised, and was wonderful with detail of the place and of the measures they were taking to assure safety of all patrons. He also advised that his wait staff is second to none and would take good care of us (but everyone says that, right?) Friday came and being the first to arrive I was introduced to Mike. Owen mentioned Mike would be taking care of us. I must say that Mike was absolutely amazing. While he had other customers I can say that no one in our group ever had an empty glass and we never had to wonder where Mike was. He provided VIP service even though it was evident that it was nothing more than his normal servicing. During the outing I was able to connect again with Katie and Owen as well. All three were extremely well versed with the entire extensive offering of beer and were able to recommend pairings for such with the food that we selected. All in all, the evening was perfect. I will preface this by saying idk how their products are and I'll explain why. My wife and I are huge beer fans and feel like there is absolutely nothing better than the beer renaissance that has been taking place across the country, but in particular right here in Pennsylvania. So I've heard nothing but great things about Stolen Sun, living in Chester County I am very familiar with all the breweries. Victory, Sly Fox and of course Levante have been where we have gone and enjoyed great beers and the inevitable conversations that accompany them from all the other enthusiasts. So it was rather shocking and quite disheartening to go to Stolen Sun and be froze out. On a Sunday over Memorial Day weekend we decided to go and were both excited. We show up and occupy two seats at the bar. Only four other people were present. Two young blondes and a man with a flight and sandwich in front of him. FOUR bartenders. One, a younger thin fellow wearing a ball cap couldn't be bothered to venture inches from the two blondes and stood there washing the same glass for ten minutes. A brunette woman walked passed my wife and I approximately six times, looked at us and stood at the far end without an ounce of acknowledgement. Another male bartender with a ginger beard also glanced at us but couldn't be bothered to nod or hold up a middle finger let alone an index finger as a gesture satiating our waiting. The fourth male never even turned around. We sat waiting for ten minutes. Menus flat on the bar, every indication that we were ready to order and nothing. Not one of the FOUR BARTENDERS could be bothered to take our order. I consider it a great offense when a staff believes that their product is so outstanding in a market that is flooded with excellent choices, locally, to disregard customers, let alone customers who will gladly drop a large sum in an establishment that offers up quality products. The smug indifference to our presence was at best what I consider a testament to their overall philosophy of "you should feel privileged to be here" at least, that's how it felt. We left, thirsty and with fat pockets, and headed straight to Levante where I had a beer in front of me in less than thirty seconds. Now I am just not interested in this place at all and will stick with the gross of other choices where I am assured a great beer and service on some level. I have read other reviews of Stolen Sun and noticed a pattern of poor service and what looks like managements justification of poor service and inflated prices. They are not the only game in town by far. Go to any of the other establishments within a short distance. Ron's Original, Timothy's, Victory, Sly Fox, Levante, Kennett Brewing Company etc. read more

Make sure you download the paying app before you go, because menus and paying are contactless. The drinks were very very good. They come in a can. It you can ask for a cup.
