It smells INCREDIBLE, the selection is amazing, and it's basically impossible to leave empty-handed. I've been coming here for a few years now and then I left the city but whenever I do come back, I make sure to make a pit stop here. Why? Work is right next door to it. So that helps. But also, I feel like the veggies and fruits here are fresh, crisp, and tastier than other places. However... I do feel like prices are a bit higher than last time I was here a couple of months ago. They have parking in the back. It's small and getting in and out alive is a miracle each time. But it exist. If you elect to park on the street, parking enforcement is out everywhere and so be weary. I like their hot bar and salad bar. Always a rotation of items that keeps it busy interesting over time. What I don't think they are good for is snacks. Sometimes I just want something simple and not healthy and this place ain't it. I think this place is better for medium size shops.

The water dispenser for water bottles had the highest pressure that I've seen one had, which was cool. Chocolate chip cookies have the classic homemade taste to them. As…read morea side comment, it would have been a nice touch to provide a bit of bread to sop up the sauce. One could purchase it separately, but one or two pieces would have sufficed. I ordered their signature dish: the crow lasagne. I am picky about lasagne and appreciate all combinations. This one did not quite hit the mark. The marinara sauce was bright and flavorful, but barely lukewarm. It was hard to tell whether this was deliberate. The lasagne itself was good, but the consistency was odd. It was almost as if the noodles were made of gnocchi (potato) dough. The ricotta and sausage had a nice flavor. I had debated whether to order the chanterelle pasta. One of my dining partners did, and after seeing it, I was glad I did not. The pasta looked as if it was cooked properly with a variety of mushrooms;, but I did not see any chanterelles. I would have been disappointed. The salmon filet and grilled vegetables were presented nicely. The clams in miso broth were an unusual presentation; the stark white shells and plate contrasted sharply with the brown broth. The broth was tasty though. The desserts were also a mixed bag. The ganache on the German chocolate cake was rich and delicious. The pumpkin basque cheesecake did not have the consistency of a typical basque cake, but had a good flavor. The sweet cream mousse topping on both desserts was a perfect accompaniment. A solid restaurant and definitely worth stopping in.

Holy crap. 88 Cues is the best Filipino food around the Seattle area. I am so sad it's no longer…read morein Bellevue as 88 Cues is a pop-up that travels around the Seattle area. I found out about this place from a friend who happened to walk by their pop-up by the former Toys R Us building in downtown Bellevue. It's tragic that I can't get 88 Cues in Bellevue, so I write this review, imploring the rest of you who see this spot to EAT HERE. As mentioned, it used to be in Bellevue, so my friend and I would walk over on Tuesdays when it was here during our lunch break. There was a huge sign that said, #LumpiaLife, with a few tables that were set up for cooking and the food. The menu is straightforward with a few items, including three different types of lumpias and combinations, with daily specials. The first time I had 88 Cues, I tried the combination with the lumpia, pork belly adobo and pancit, which was outta this world! The pork belly adobo was so incredibly flavorful and good, so is worth the upcharge for this meat versus the chicken version. Then when I came back, I tried the special, a smoky palabok, which was the best palabok I've ever had! Jason is the owner of 88 Cues and he remembered us from last time, calling out our names. He was also very responsive through Instagram when my friend tried to contact him, to make sure he was in Bellevue during the lunch hour. Truly, 88 Cues is some of the best Filipino food in the Seattle area. I can't recommend it enough.

But unfortunately, today's visit will be my last. I came into the store with a general idea of what I wanted to purchase. There were 3 employees working and only one other customer in store. I didn't receive a greeting, any acknowledgment, or even a smile - nothing. I felt like my presence was a nuisance. Their selection of products is vast and impressive (+1 star), but overwhelming if you don't know exactly what you're looking for. I would be more knowledgeable of what to buy if staff would be helpful and open to questions. I walked up to someone stocking a shelf with products in my hands, said "excuse me?" to ask for help, and the person just scooted away without looking at me. Yeah, no. After walking a lap around the store trying to get anyone's attention, I waited near the register with products hoping they would at least try to cash me out. Nothing again. I waited 3-5 minutes without anyone coming to help or even a "I'll be right with you" although there were workers on the floor. I just put my products away and left. I can't support an establishment that prides itself on high vibes and wellness but makes their customers feel like sh!t. Today's experience has been consistent with the past 2-3 other times I've been in and I won't be returning.
