Always love this spot. We're sad to see shokuden ramen go, it's one of the best ramen places on island and we don't know where they are now, but at least there are some new spots opened up that we can try. Our favorites here are tempura Kiki, Ao gelato, HK café and nana green tea. We have yet to try the other eateries and they look promising. It's a great food hall with so many choices. Make sure you walk around and check out all your options before sitting down! They offer 2 hours of parking validation at waikiki shopping plaza (don't confuse with business plaza and other garages) with receipt of minimum spend. You get a sticker. When you run your ticket at the parking ticket machine, scan your ticket barcode first and then your sticker bar code. Stix is at the basement level if you come here via elevator. Bathrooms require a code which is printed at the bottom of your restaurant receipt. Free WiFi with details on the wall by the main entrance at the bottom of the stairs. Stix Asia used to be Waikiki Yokocho, a retro Japanese food hall, now transformed into a modernized Asian food hub. Although I do miss the old-school arcades, this is quite an upgrade. They now have more variety from authentic Korean, Chinese, and Japanese dishes specializing in different cuisines at each spot. Previously the restaurants used to be repetitive. They currently have about 13 open restaurants or food stalls to try out. Overall: Very clean and maintained. And the folks here seem nice. Additional seating by the Seaside Entrance if you want to order takeout instead of dining at the restaurant. Good food, great prices! Stix has a food court setup with a number of different Asian cuisines available. I went with one of the udon shops and it hit the spot. At under $15 for a pretty sizable bowl, it was a good deal for a pretty tasty dish! The place itself is a little chaotic. No single restaurant within the food court has a ton of seating, so it's a bit of a round robin trying to find one that isn't full. With so much foot traffic, it'll definitely make you feel like you're competing for a place to eat. Still, once you do choose one of the restaurants, you'll get a good meal that won't break the bank. read more

It has a nice, new look but if you step foot outside into the main building, you'll see what used to be. I am so glad that the owners have taken into consideration that locals would come here with their family and friends, often driving more than one car. They have updated their validation system! If you spend $70+, you can now get two validations! With this new change, I am definitely more willing to make the venture into Waikiki for some delicious food. Found out about STIX Asia through a search while I was looking for new Hawaii eats for 2024. Once I was able to figure out the location, I realized I had passed by this place about 2 years ago while it was still 'under construction'. Fast forward to 2 years later and they are conveniently located right along the strip. Might be hard to locate through GPS because they are a lower level food court place. There are many restaurants downstairs and right across from the Royal Hawaiian. Some restaurants include an udon place which looks comparable to Marugame Udon, a pho place, sushi restaurant and smaller restaurants such as a mini rice ball stand and green tea ice cream. It appears they are still expanding so there is still more to come. I am looking forward to more restaurants once they expand further. There are multiple entry points but only one side has an escalator which is closer to the Royal Hawaiian. The other entry points are stairs. read more

STIX Asia is the coolest place in Waikiki. It is an Asian food hall with different restaurants. Towards the back of the food hall is a section called Noodle Street where they have a ramen/noodle dedicated quadrant and it's moody with lanterns and wood. The ambience there is super cool! They validate parking at certain times if you spend enough so if your group visits with the intent of eating a meal, then you are getting free parking. We came twice and dined at different restaurants each time. There's something for everyone. For clarification, this is not a food court. Meaning you cannot get food at different restaurants and eat communally. They are restaurants were separate eating areas. read more

Love that they have a range of different asian foods (Korean, Chinese, Japanese, etc) some authentic some fusion. Also love that you can find some really authentic not so common cultural dishes (I.e. intestines, tripe, etc). They really do try their best to make the most high quality dishes at a reasonable price. But I think all and all the lower quality is noticeable. That being said who this place really works for is a wide range of people - families or large parties who can't agree on one restaurant, people who like to drink good drinks/top shelf while eating dinner, people who don't have the luxury to try all different restaurants due to time or they don't have a car. It really works for most who readily understands and accepts the convenience and wide selection of a food court. read more

I frequent stix once a week to eat at barrio, HK cafe or at the udon restaurant. You only get free parking if you order over $35 but sometimes a bowl from barrio isn't enough. My review today is specific to the parking and management of Stix- not for any of the restaurants. I came for Barrio today and didn't make the $35 - had to go and buy something else and while waiting in the line and the food, went over the parking by 2 minutes and still had to pay $3 for parking. What a nightmare. I come here a lot but feel penalized when I can't make the parking requirement $35. Kind of sucks when I want to support a restaurant who knows me as a frequent customer because I can just go to the Ala Moana restaurant instead (barrio) and at HK Cafe in Chinatown and not have to worry about paying for parking. I guess in the future that means I won't come to Stix as often. read more

Looking for a one stop shop for everything Asia has to offer? STIX Asia is your place to go. Located in the old Yokocho this revived food alley makes it way into your belly. This is a melting pot of "home away from home for your belly." Everything you eat here can be consumed with chopSTIXS (Pun intended) Make your way to Honolulu Noodle Co and you'll warm your belly with these noodles in a broth that is like no other. Opt in for some beef fat to add extra flavor or keep it light without it. The choice is fully in your control. The noodles are done in a way where it's thick enough to slurp and enough chew to break down all the carb-oblivious goodness. Gyoza on point with the crispy mouth punching flavors. My favorite was the omikase sushi spot. I don't typically like raw salmon but boy did I inhale it all in. Hamachi was great despite it not being my normal hamachi carpaccio. The shoyu has a slightly sweet flavor so it's not your regular Aloha Shoyu. Making this spot a place to try. Cute decor and adds a touch of customer service for a basket to place your personal items in. Seating can allow for a part of ten or more making it a great place for friends and family. Ktown is the home of cheese/hot dog sticks and Korean rice bowls. Not a huge fan of fried foods so this was probably my least favorite during the Stix Week. Nanas Green Tea! HOJICHA!!!!! Straight from Japan , the flavors are so rich and toasty. After sampling the hojicha I had to get more so I opted in for the parfait. Sadly it was too good I forgot to snap a picture but my belly was satisfied. I'm not much of a drinker but the bar did offer mocktails. The mocktail I had was a yuzu mix and it was a powerful Yuzu flavor. Definitely worth the stop even if you're not a drinker. This is a really fun food hall which holds a bar, several restaurants and in a nicely decorated and renovated space in the basement of a centrally located mall. We split our group and enjoyed food from a ramen stand and the Cantonese food stand. Both groups were happy and we are glad to have come down here to check it out. My friend and I were going to try some noodles, but we couldn't make up our minds. There were so many choices! The entrance of this restaurant Seto sushi caught my eyes because I am originally from the area in Japan. Plus, it has been some time I had unagi (eel) and I was in a mood of rice as well. I would say that the size is for the lady, just right for me to have a kettle room left for dessert. The service was superb and friendly as the man served us brought us a real green tea that itself probably cost 5, 6 dollars a cup easily. My friend agreed that was not a tea bag. It's a real thing! She also said the tempura was fantastic. Not oily. crispy and fresh. Place was clean and lighting was perfect- not too dark or bright. we went to STIX at lunchtime and most of places offered kamaaina discounts, or some specials. Came here during a federal holiday on Juneteenth and was really disappointed that Gashoken was closed. We came into town for the sole purpose of eating their ramen but they were the only shop that was closed. There's a few ramen shops here but I thought it would be bigger like Shirokiya back in the day but it wasn't. We ended up eating at Akatsuki and although the noodles have the awesome texture and taste, the broth was too sweet for my taste. Also, the terrible part was that they don't validate parking on Monday-Fridays until 5pm-10pm at the Waikiki Shopping Plaza. So I had to pay $9 parking even though we spent over $100 eating here for lunch. So the lesson here is Do Not Go during the day on federal holidays. That sucks for the local people who want to go there on the holiday! Validation should be available when they're opened during the day and night! We had the matcha soft cream after our ramen and it was the strongest matcha flavored icecream I've ever had. Delicious but a tad bit strong for my taste. Overall, this place could do better. Hopefully they'll make some changes to their parking validation policy and cater to the locals and not only tourists. read more

My husband and I tried the udon place that's right at the entrance on left and let me just say that this place is a must!!! If you love udon you'll enjoy this eatery so much! It's just as good as that other place in Waikiki where they make the udon noodles in front of you. Skip that line and just come here!!! Idk what kind of water machine they use but it is the crispiest water my husband and I drank our entire staycation in Waikiki!!! They also serve rice plates with curry which my husband enjoyed very much with some tonkatsu. Everything there was amazing!!! They have a variety of fried tempuras like shrimp, soft boiled egg etc. my favorite was the fried vegetable tempura. So nicely seasoned and crunchy!! Over all we weren't disappointed at all!! Stix asia also has other eateries. I recommend stopping by the korean spot they have there. Their fried chicken is so juicy and crispy 10/10 recommend and the tteokbokki is also really delicious the serving sizes they give as well are really good!! I had the garlic chili chicken and it was everything that I imagined it to be. Everything is cooked fresh when ordered so you get everything nice and hot. They also have a little bar in the middle which my husband enjoyed and paired nicely with his bowl of ramen he got for take out. I loved all the veggies, but the both was a bit bland. The seating was ok, albeit cramped and very noisy...not very impressed and will probably visit the Ala Moana Food court. This eatery is located in the underground level of the Waikiki Shopping Plaza and offers a variety of Asian foods. There's a good selection of restaurants to choose from, and you have table service from the restaurant you order your food. I don't think the restaurants allow outside food. What I mean is that you can't order from one restaurant and bring it in to another restaurant. After walking through and looking at the offerings, which took about 10 minutes, we settled on Kiki, they bill themselves as authentic tempura. Kiki is newly opened and had a special price of 50% off on two specials, one which was already sold out. Our meal was quite substantial and the tempura was fried to perfection. Light, airy and most of all, the oil was fresh. I don't know how long the special will last but I thought it was a good deal and would even order this if I didn't get it for 50% off. The bathrooms in this eatery are clean and well maintained. It's locked and you need a code to get in. Wonder what happened to the Waikiki Yochoko Food Hall? Well, look no further. This was one of my first stops upon arriving in early February. I'd dined at several stands at Yochoko with the tsukemen place being my favorite. Being curious, my friend and I walked down the stairs and walked the new version on the first day after we came to town. Coincidentally, it was the same week as their soft grand opening. Having read an article about the Taiwan noodle spot, I wanted to see the setup and study the menu so we walked through the space after eating breakfast. Many of the stands were still works-in-progress at the time but I understand that most, if not all, are now open. I noticed that there were a few return businesses from Yochoko like the Nana green tea and the pastry and ice cream spot to the left of the main entrance. Otherwise, it was a mix of mostly new businesses, ranging from Korean street food, shabu shabu, tempura, a couple of ramen places, as well as an udon place where they pull their own noodles like that place on Kuhio. We were only able to try the Honolulu Noodle & Co. during out visit but I hope to try some of the other ones when I visit again. It's conveniently located in the heart of Waikiki though you need to take the escalator or use the stairs to find this underground dining spot. In some ways, I enjoy this more as it reminds me of the basement food courts found in department stores in Asia (mainly Japan and Taiwan). Please be patient as most of the businesses have been open for seven weeks or less. You should find something to eat here though don't expect any bargains here. read more

During a recent exercise session through Waikīkī on Monday, February 6, we were happy to discover the Grand Opening celebration of STIX Asia at the Waikīkī Shopping Plaza. STIX Asia is the revamped former Waikīkī Yokocho Food Hall. The food hall is located in the basement level of this shopping plaza, divided into two "streets"- Asian Street and Noodle Street and features 17 Asian restaurants. We recognized several businesses that were former tenants of Waikīkī Yokocho who have reopened mixed in with the new ones. Currently, these are the only thirteen restaurants that are open for business. Ao Gelato Baikohken (ramen) Café Nala Gashoken (ramen) Honolulu Noodle & Co. Stix Asia is the latest foodcourt to open in Honolulu where the old Yokocho Alley was previously located. Still predominately representing Japanese dining fare, now offering other areas of Southeast Asia dining. Happy to see Nana's Green Tea (dessert shop) and Nana's Musubi back. Happy to see new faces on this eating scene. Stix has been open in a soft opening mode for a few months. Brand new, the grand opening only happening two days ago. Most excited about the new Taiwanese eatery, Honolulu Noodle & Company where we recently ate at...and enjoyed immensely. NO validated parking in building. There are many creative parking options in the area. With validation, discounted parking available nearby with minimum purchase (1st hour free) at Nordstrom Rack, Ross', Royal Hawaiian Center, International Marketplace. Flat rate evening parking available in the Waikiki Shopping Plaza. With a little patience, metered street parking on the residential streets available (evenings free...check the posted signs for different restrictions). Welcome back Waikiki Yocho..... No wait. Welcome STIX ASIA!! During the pandemic, we lost Shirokiya and Waikiki Yochoko. We were all missing the Asian food courts filled with various food stalls serving delicious food! So when I saw someone post about a new food court, I had to check it out! My first visits to STIX ASIA was during the soft opening. I just walked around to see what's coming. It's located in the same exact place where Waikiki Yochoko--at the bottom level of the Waikiki Shopping Plaza. There's currently no parking validation given if you park in the parking garage. Hope that changes soon. It's open 11AM-10PM, but some places are 5-10PM only. Everything looks basically the same as it's predecessor with stalls all around, the bar in the middle, and Noodle Street! You'll see a couple of familiar stalls such as Nana's Green Tea and the musubi place now called Nanamusubi (previously Shichimusubi), and Gashoken and Shingen from other locations. There will be a total of SEVENTEEN businesses, which is basically maxed out. 13 total have opened with 4 more (exciting) ones coming. My most recent visit was on the day of the Grand Opening, 2/6, National Chopsti(X)cks Day! There was a special where the first 300 customers will receive free chopsticks when you show your receipt from any business. Also, and even better, a 50% off promotion on each eateries' signature dish/dishes. Awesome!!! With so many choices, from Japanese Nabe, Udon, Sushi, Kobe and Hokkaido Ramen, Izakaya, Omusubi, and ice cream, Korean Steeet food, Taiwanese Noodles, and etc, how can I choose just one?? And later on, a tempura, an Unagi, a Southeast Noodles, and another Ramen food stall are coming. Eventually I chose Honolulu Noodle and Co. But this is not the place to review. Overall, you gotta love the vibe here at STIX ASIA. It's great to have an Asian Food Court reopened in Hawaii. It really does feel like a Japanese alleyway filled with food stalls that's all unique. Each place has their own seating area, so you won't need to stand around with a tray of food looking for a place to sit. But there are communal tables you can use, which might be better to avoid tipping. :) Definitely a place I'll come back again and again till I've tried all 17 places! read more

So glad I stumbled on STIX Asia during our recent trip back to Waikiki. They've got all kinds of Asian food- Vietnamese, HK, Taiwanese, Korean, Japanese- and tons of noodle soup options (my fave!). I tried the Vietnamese spot and HK Cafe and both were really good--especially the seafood laksa at HK Cafe. The area was clean, and the staff were super friendly and attentive. We entered through the stairway on Seaside Avenue - across from Ross Dress For Less. Currently, Stix Asia is in its Soft Opening phase. Very clean and beautiful space. Lots of food vendors in the area. Some spots vacant. The parking is the only downside . There is parking within the building off lauula street. Although we ended up across the street off seaside Ave where the sky bar is located. The service was great for pick up. We went around and ordered from a few places and picked them all up in order. There was one place that kept asking if we wanted to eat there I think it was called Baikohken. My sister asked if they did take out and they said no. I was asked and it seemed like they were pushing to get people in. The vendors didn't seem very packed for 5 pm on a Thursday but as were were leaving people were trickling in. Prices were a lot compared to outside Waikiki vendors. But if you are in Waikiki, the prices are comparable. In and out within 24 minutes. Only paid $3 for the first 30 minutes in the parking garage we parked in. It's doable, but if you sit down not sure how much the parking will be. read more

We stopped by the Korean street food and the green tea ice cream place. They had a variety of restaurant options and posted the menus on outside so you can peruse to see if any were to your liking. It wasn't overly crowded at the time we went which was close to a late dinner. Plenty of seating in each restaurant. Since it was on the lower level no natural lighting so did seem dim. I liked that we could walk to next dessert spot in the same location. As for the food: Korean street food wasn't that great. The chicken sauce was sweet for our preference. The other dishes nothing really stood out. The green tea ice cream was delicious but soft serve tends to melt faster. I'm a huge fan of Stix. I love the variety of options that they have and how easily accessible it in when you work in the Waikiki area. It's a go to place for work lunches considering all the choices usually you don't have to wait, and for pau hana too. (bonus for their lunch specials and kama aina discount) I've tried most of the places, and they definitely are great to cater to different friends or visitors' interests. My parents when they came from LA loved Honolulu Noodle company, and for friends that don't know tempura, tempura kiki is a must- I love the sets and how they bring out everything out in two waves fresh so its warm and crispy. Bonus that they have the tendon sauce at the table, probably the only time I ever finish my rice. My friend from Japan loves the ramen options and how they really do show off how different regions do ramen in Japan. The soba noodle has a good set that coworkers have enjoyed, and you can't go wrong with the ao gelato with their specialty flavors. Just beware if its an unpopular flavor there may be some ice crystals in it unfortunately. I loved all the anniversary specials they had, From the $10 Tuesday, to raffles, free mango gelato and contests. It really made me realize all the good options stix has.
