These guys are truly something else. I just found out what they charged a neighbor of mine for a local law 152 inspection, and the follow on work that they created for themselves. They are not even using union laborers. read more

$700.00 an hour! Stivan came on time and did the job but 1 on site plumber would not give me quote. 2 simple snake of the main pipe. 3 billed for over $1000 for 90 minutes work. 4 did not clean up their mess Dont use Stivan. total rip off read more

They scam old people for thousands of dollars without even fixing the problem, need an entirely new toilet now after only 3 years that they installed a new one! Don't give these people your business if you don't want to end up spending double or triple the amount you originally needed to. read more

I got ripped off by Stivan Plumbing and Heating: I must say, the technicians were friendly and sincere. Dennis is excellent, but it seems to me that the owner's primary goal is to make a quick buck! He charged me $500 for a 45-minute job, asked for cash, and refused to give me a receipt. My advice is, save yourself a headache and call someone else! Because Stivan Plumbing will take your money and run! They installed my dishwasher with the wrong hoses, and for that reason, my dishwasher overflowed and leaked. I had them come back for a second time to fix the problem, and the owner wanted to CHARGE me again to buy different hoses and fix the leakage they've created. My advice - stay away from this company and save yourself a headache! read more

It is with great respect that I write a 5 star review for Stivan Plumbing and Heating. I called twice asking for services, on different occasions and needs , and with both , Eugene came to our building within the hour. The ladies at the office are very efficient with sending documents upon work completions. Eugene is a master in his business, for many decades. An "old school" type of man with work ethics. He gets the job done with no excuses or delays. This is what I have experienced with him. He's reliable and my go to guy ,when he is needed. I appreciate them all very much. read more

I have use Stivan Plumbing several times for boiler issues to the latest a leaking pipe ,even in bad weather they have always been puntual and available ,with very knowledgeable plumbers Eugene goes out of his way to help resolve any problem read more

My parents had to have their gas lines inspected as per NYC Law 152 and so many people recommended Stivan. He was professional and polite. Also his price was the most reasonable out of the 3 other companies we called. I would recommend this business and will keep him in mind for future projects. read more

I have done business with Stivan plumbing for a couple of years. Eugene and his team are Incredible. Eugene is awesome to communicate with and is very knowledgeable. I asked him to come and check out my washing machine and dryer, as I was having problems with the water coming to it. His team came very fast and fixed it. They also cleaned my dryer. Stivan is a very dependable company, if they say they will be there at 8, you can bet that they will. I always like speaking with Eugene, he understands the situation rather quickly and knows what to do to fix it. I would definitely recommend his company and staff. read more

the owner is not an ethical man. He wantsEd to charge me for work not needed in a boiler inspection $1500 extra charge. I would not recommend to anyone. I got another reputab company and they confirmed how unethical STIVAN WAS. DONT USE STIVAN read more

We dealt with Euguene and his unprofessional company a while back. They worked on our home and every little finding was an additional cost. Any questions we had, went unanswered. We would have to call his office several times to get a response. Some of his employees are also rude and standoffish. I recommend you stay away from Euguene and his company. Save yourself the headache. read more

My parents hired Sitvan Plumbing to correct 3 violations that they received from the city. Stivan Plumbing came within the same day, of my father's call to them, to give my parents a quote and they started the work within a day or so. They were great! The owner always checked in to make sure everything was going well with the work and was present for the two inspections (city inspector and Con Ed). We were never left alone in case we didn't understand something during the inspections. I had the pleasure of working with Megan a lot from the office and she is amazing! She is very knowledgeable and was alway so pleasant with every annoying question I had. She was very thorough and always updated us on approvals that we were waiting on from Con Edison. I highly recommend Stivan Plumbing. read more

We hired Stivan Plumbing to bring water into a closet off our kitchen for a washer/dryer. Yesterday the WD was finally installed and I was so excited to use it! Unfortunately, the washer sounded like it was going to explode when the spin cycle started. We called Stivan first thing this morning. The owner was not as helpful as I had hoped, but he did send our wonderful technician, Dennis, over and he spent time checking everything. Dennis discovered what was wrong and fixed the problem so that our washer now works like a charm. read more

Reliable and knowledgeable local plumber. I had a leak from an upstairs bathroom in an old house that I was afraid was going to result in a a huge job and a lot of disruption. Jorge listened carefully to my observations of the problem and immediately diagnosed and repaired the (thankfully) minor cause. Jorge also took the time to inspect the damaged ceiling below and ensure the leak had stopped. As a woman it makes a nice change when a plumber actually listens to what you are telling him and as a homeowner I appreciate the professional service. read more

Major rip off. These guys took full payment ($800!) up front, didn't complete the work (a 3 hour job) the same day and totally messed up my boiler. The owner couldn't care less when we called to complain and left us hanging without any heat. I'd advise going with any other place. read more

I am updating this review because Stivan contacted me to correct this situation. The billing issue has been favorably resolved. I am the first to complain but I am also quick to thank someone when they do the right hing & Stivan did this, Two star because their prices are outrageous to say the least. They acquired Bretone plumbing who I had used for a long time. Dennis is great ( he was with Bretone) but I will never use Stivan again simple because the gouging in the price. You have lost my business. Never again. read more

We had an emergency which required a call to a licensed plumber. Unfortunately We got the WRONG reference when We decided to call Stivan Plumbing from Astoria Queens. They sent us 2 people Who could not explain to the manager what they where doing to solve my problem. And to make matters worse, never fixed my problem... Had to be fixed by my ansul system company who I also had to pay to get back in business. To my dismay they charged me $1300 ( one thousand three hundred dollars) to spend 3 hours in my building. When I called the Owner of the company Eugene he immediately became defensive and started to yelll attempting to distract me from the questions i wanted to ask him. ( hanging the phone on my face) 1- what was the charges on the bill I paid in full was my question to him.. Since nothing was itemmized on the work order. Obviously this was the case of a bad professoonal taking advantage of a client dealing with an urgent matter a total rip off!!.. Marcos taking for a ride by a Bad Plumber!!.. read more

I was very happy with this plumber. They weren't able to come until the next day. But they showed up first thing in the morning. They were honest, reasonable, and professional. I had a terrible experience with Woodside emergency plumbing and heating and I was really nervous to trust another plumber after that. This will be my new plumber from know on. I feel like I am in good hands with them. Thank you for your great work and integrity! read more

Repairman showed up on time, fixed my problem quickly, reasonably priced , very nice receptionist . Highly recommended.

I am a general contractor, I've worked with Stivan Plumbing on several projects as well as my own home. Stivan plumbing does great work at a reasonable price, he is also licensed unlike a lot of these so called plumbers. Anytime someone asks me to recommend a plumber I always recommend Stivan. read more

Stivan is a good plumber. I was recommended to them by a friend. They were on time and reasonable. I would use them again

If I could give zero stars, I would. My landlord hired this plumber to do some work on the building boiler. They came and left a complete mess - when I walked in, I noticed the following: lots of black sooty debris on the front walkway into the building; black sooty water that had been thrown all over the flowers I had planted in the front garden, many of them now squashed from the force with which the dirty water was thrown on them; a piece of plumbing debris in the front walkway, a large piece of cut metal pipe that had very sharp edges thrown in my garden, more black sooty dirt and footprints in the entry of the building itself, more black sooty dirt on the floor of the boiler room. Plus, they had left a valve open on the boiler and dirty water had overflowed from the bucket and was all over the floor. Had I not noticed this dirt and gone into the boiler room, we could have had major water damage. Eugene, the owner of the company, came back two days later to finish the job and supposedly clean up. All he did was clean the floor in the hallway, but didn't do anything about the dirt in the boiler room or at the exterior walkway, so still more dirt is being tracked every time someone comes through. When I spoke to him on the phone, he refused to let me get a word in and explain what I had found, hung up the phone on me several times, called me a liar and said that his guys told him that they had done everything perfectly and cleaned nicely. I have pictures to the contrary, but he refused to give me an email address to send them to. Stay as far away from this company as possible. read more
