We waited over 45 minutes to buy an old, used machine (and it was OBVIOUS that we were waiting) just to watch her walk away to tend to other customers when we were there first. We came in to look a sewing machines for my wife. She hasn't gotten started in the craft and had a million questions. The owner and an associate showed us around a bit before doing a deep dive information exchange about the machines. I went out to the roomy comfortable front porch while they talked sewing for another 45 minutes. We left with a ton of info. When we're ready to make this big purchase I am sure we'll do it here. I had the best turn around repair with Joe. I thank him as I miss my machine when it requires service. Joe got it back to me the next day. so thankful. he was extremely helpful when I called in the middle of a big project with some "try this". as I said very happy with all his help. read more

I emailed the company in reference to my sewing machine I had purchased from them about 5 years ago. It had seriously broken down and I sew daily and was very upset that it wasn't working. Mike called me in about 15 minutes of my email. He told me to bring my machine in right away and he would look at it. He called me within the hour with the prognosis. It needed parts of a new motor and additional parts from the dealer and he would order them with a very reasonable price. I was anticipating that my machine would be repaired in a week or more. I was surprised to get a call 3 days later it was completed! I am so happy and excited that it was so quickly. Mike's great! Very helpful and told me to contact them with any questions or concerns anytime. I have been doing business with them for 20 years classes, material, supplies, and of course my baby, my sewing machine. I have never had a problem that was not resolved immediately like this was done. Stitching on state is the best shop to go for sewing machines, fabric, embroidery, or anything related to this art. The staff is extremely helpful..willing to answer any question, and address any issue you may have. Mike, the owner and repair person works wonders repairing machines. I purchased a TOL pfaff at another shop. It did not work properly until Mike fixed it. The next machine I purchase will be from this shop. read more

I recently purchased a Bernina sewing machine from Stitching On State and am very satisfied. Their customer service is wonderful. When I picked up the machine, they took the time to make sure that everything that was supposed to be in the box was actually in the box! I was given a short tutorial and then told I would receive a call to schedule a couple more classes. The price I paid for the machine was excellent. I could have gone somewhere else to purchase this machine, but I value good customer service and feel that Stitching On State provides that to its customers. read more

About a year ago, I bought a Pfaff Creative Performance from Stitching on State when it was still called Judy's Quilt n Sew. I drive an hour and 15 minutes to get to this store, passing by a much closer store that sells Pfaff sewing machines on my way, because of the superior service I get at Stitching on State. Everyone there is always willing to answer my questions, and if they don't know the answer, they do the appropriate research to find out the answer. Sewing machines can be complicated, and I've had salespeople make up answers before instead of admitting they're not sure and finding the correct information for me. This never happens at Stitching on State - in my experience, they have too much integrity to do anything like that. Everyone I've spoken to there has been very helpful, especially the owner, Mike, who is also the repair person. I ended up having a problem with the first machine I bought there. Mike said he could fix it, but he felt he shouldn't have to with a brand new machine, so he sent it back to Pfaff and had them send me a new machine. I was impressed with both Mike and Pfaff because of this. My machine had some more minor problems, but again Mike did the right thing and took care of the problem. He sat with me and did the repair so I could see what he was doing and make sure the machine was working correctly before I took it home. I've heard horror stories of people having problems with their very expensive machines, but their dealers wouldn't listen to them and denied the machine had problems. Mike has never done this - he always listens graciously and takes his time repairing my machine, making sure he resolves the problem completely. I've dealt with several sewing machine dealers because I'm like a crazy old cat lady, but with sewing machines, and Stitching on State goes above and beyond any of the others I've experienced. read more
