Recently the microwave began having issues and they promised it to me in 7 days, it now been a month. Calling the store for information is a joke, Hannah never knows what is going on and never will put you through to Bob to talk to him about the issue, I have been in the store and heard her tell people that Bob is not in the store when he is standing right there. She also never knows the status of a repair, she promises to check but never calls you back. I used Thompson's because they were the hometown business and you should try to support the local businesses, but its not worth the headache in this case, they don't seem to care about customer service.

"It's broke. It's under warranty. We will fix it." What's not to love about a company that does that? I plan to use them for our goofy refrigerator problems, and for my beginning-of-the-season boiler and furnace maintenance. The compressor replacement (actually, the entire outdoor unit) was sold to us at a really great price. They are competent and humble. I was speaking to their technician and he was explaining the sort of metering he had to do after the install (A/C is very complicated and weird), and I said to him, "Wow where did you learn about all of that?" He says, "In school- they taught me. It's hard. There are a lot of guys who don't understand but Astera doesn't hire them." It was a matter-of-fact conversation, and gave me quite the clue as to their business principles.
