We always talked about replacing it, but life happened and we never did. This past Christmas, my husband surprised me with a new and improved version of that original ring. My plan was to wear it stacked with my engagement ring, but once I tried them together, it just didn't feel right. I still wanted to wear it though, especially on days when I'm not wearing my engagement ring. The challenge was that my right hand is slightly larger than my left. I'll be the first to admit I am not an easy customer. I was very indecisive and in and out of the store more times than I'd like to admit. I ended up choosing Shockey Jewelers, and I'm very happy with the whole experience. I had a lot of questions about the resizing of my ring, which is white gold with a center stone and small stones along the sides. They answered all of them as well as I could have hoped. They do the resizing in house, they'd cut the ring and insert additional gold to get it to the right size, they could do quarter sizes (not just whole and half), and it would take up to a week (it ended up only being a couple of days). After using their ring sizers, I decided to go up 3/4 of a size. The price was the only downside, as it would have been cheaper to take it to the jeweler it came from. In the end, I didn't mind paying a little extra for a local small business that will take a more personalized interest in me and my favorite piece of jewelry. The ring came out beautifully. It has been several months since I got it resized, and I still find myself feeling grateful for the work Shockey Jewelers did.
