First and foremost I must say the food was delicious! Food was served within a timely manner and at the perfect temperature. Now as for the service we received we were not content. I would expect top notch service at a restaurant where you are going to spend a lot of $$$$. We did not receive the friendly intro to the restaurant where they ask if we've been there before and suggest plates and drinks . We didn't get any of that. The server was literally just there to take our orders and that's about it. The server never asked if we enjoyed the food. Basically a robot could of done the waiters job. Mixed feeling about this place. Hopefully next time the experience is completely different. read more

Thanksgiving 2024. My husband and I attended the 'reservation only' Thanksgiving buffet. $240 for 2 people or $90+ 20%mandatory gratuity per person. Start with the positive... I didn't have to cook for Thanksgiving this year! I'm a great cook so I expect better or equivalent to my skills when I go out. The negative? ...they treated the turkey like it was WW3 rations. Shame. Very disappointed bc what should have been the ~STAR~ of the show on Thanksgiving was a very dry piece-meal rationed-out turkey portion. We were the 1st group here at noon and the turkey portions were treated as if they were the bare minimum available. Never a whole turkey was seen, just a few ounces at a time. Teeny-tiny... even when I asked for more (when literally no one else was in line), I was given an infant portion.. 3x I tried for turkey portions in 1.5 hours; my husband experienced the same. The prime rib and the salmon was a free-for-all, but the turkey was treated like it's weight in gold! The sides were acceptable, similar to what you can buy from Boston Market. No wine or alcohol menu to soften your palette to the mediocre food, probably to prevent staying past the 2 hour time allocation. Overall the buffet sides were satisfactory but not exceptional, highlighting again that the establishment was *very stingy with THE turkey on THANKSGIVING! The desserts were also lacking a desirable flavor profile, very Publix-ish. I won't be back here...At least not for Thanksgiving, but the interior ambiance of the countless dog portraits was interesting (and disturbing), and the exterior ambiance of the horse training field was very sheikh! ****The 'fixer' or GM who comments on ALL 'bad reviews' should not even comment on my review bc we all know you can't comment back and forth on here, and you only have ONE CHANCE TO MAKE A GOOD IMPRESSION!!!!! The room is very beautiful; crystal chandeliers, elegant artwork, etc... but I wish they had a basic dress code for dinner, like collared shirts no shorts. We dressed up and people next to us were in cargo shorts and t-shirt. Service: very attentive, very friendly Food: very good and beautifully plated. This is a beautiful setting with stunning presentation and amazing appetizers but the overall meal itself was just ok for the price. I was wowed with the deviled eggs. They are a must try as they are so creamy, flavorful and beautifully presented. The pimento cheese dip with crackers and accompaniments are a classic Southern staple. The oysters were cold,fresh and tasty! The tenderloin was cooked well but, unfortunately, it was a little tough. The sides of potatoes, grilled asparagus, mushrooms, and corn were all good but not anything to write home about. The drink presentation is amazing and I highly recommend the Smoked Old Fashioned and an Essence of Summer. We will definitely go back but will go on the patio for just drinks and appetizers. My bf ordered a $27 blt, which came with no bacon???The waitress took a while to come back around and check on us for us to even let her know. Staff work as a team with the only goal to make your dining experience the finest. Leave the kids home. This restaurant is for adult special occasions, when you really want to impress. Dress is business casual. For our special night, Stirrups sent us champagne and a special dessert for free. Our cocktails were Smoky Old Fashioned (served the Stirrups way) and a Mint Melon. Appetizers included Chilled Oysters, Mushroom Soup, Iceberg Wedge Salad. Entrees were the 6 oz Filet with Scallops and Bourbon Butter added, Chefs Grouper Special, delectable Asparagus as a side. Everything was cooked to perfection. Each seasoning and condiment, unique and flavorful. Even the bread service had variety. Tarlton our waiter was fantastic, very knowledgeable and witty. We had the luxury of dining at Stirrups 3 times during our vacation; twice for dinner and once for brunch. The service is impeccable there. The food is definitely worth the money, and they are consistently providing great service and great food from what I saw. The restaurant is by reservation only. We had the prime steaks and oysters the first night with their house made steak sauce, which is gluten-free. I don't even like steak sauce, and this steak sauce is so good we came back another night and had the pork chops which were listed on the menu as ribs with a side of the steak sauce. All of their sides are very good. The oysters and mignonette sauces were great. The dessert was great. Brunch the food was good the only problem we had is that they won't deliver brunch or breakfast to your room you have to actually come downstairs and eat in the dining room. Brunch, however, was great, and I am looking forward to returning here again and again. I know great steak restaurants, and this is one of them, right in Ocala at an absolutely stunning hotel (which we stayed at). I can't wait to return and try some seafood entrees. Parking is free. We waited for a long time to even place our order (was told it was due to short staff but there were only 5 tables total and at least 3 waiters that we saw). We ordered bacon & eggs. When the food finally came, the bacon was not cooked well and had chunks of fat/grease on it. Inedible. They offered another set of bacon (we declined) and took our coffee off the bill. Begrudgingly paid the $125 bill for the eggs. Won't be back again, and canceling our dinner reservation for next week since I'm not sure I trust their ability to provide good food and service anymore. My Mac and cheese with lobster was dry and the lobster was not detectable. Dessert was also beautiful but lacked any flavor very bland. We got the pastries to start and again the server failed to asks if any of us have allergies. Then brings out banana bread that contains walnuts which I am allergic to. We're finally ready to order. We ordered the Bananas Foster French Toast and the Crab Benedict. Notice anything missing from the photo? NO CRAB. I asked a server to please call our server over. He rudely asks "why?" I explain that I ordered my breakfast with the crab. His response "Oh, we'll get you some on the side." NO MOTHERFCKER!" AGAIN, I'm paying an extra amount for service and food, take the dish and make it properly. Might have been I was the only non-white customer, IDK. Why isn't the line chef and the server checking dishes before they hit the tables?? Is the place nice? sure. Is it worth the prices? With the poor service and experience they provide, HELL NO! Don't waste your time or money. To the management, train your people to have manners and attention to detail. It's what we're paying for. Eggs were over done, biscuit over cooked. It overlooks the grand arena and it's simply breathtaking, especially with all the holiday decorations up during the holiday season. Our server Hailey was EXCEPTIONAL. She was such a delight. She was personable and knowledgeable. She made excellent recommendations and accommodated any special requests that we made. She truly made us feel at home. The food far exceeded my expectations. Everything was delicious. The complimentary biscuits are a must. I was so looking forward to our first visit to StirUps for brunch.. We have been wanting to get there for some time .. The entire facility and dining room is perfection .. absolutely gorgeous facility and the ,Christmas decorations exquisite..The actual food, mediocre at best, at least the Eggs Benedict which my partner and I ordered, should have been sent back .. Poached eggs were not done properly, so the whites were runny and a disgusting mess on the plates .. I have ordered Eggs Benedict, many, many times over the years and never think when ordering to tell them how to poach the eggs so that the whites are cooked and yolks are runny ..avocado mash on the Benedict was too overpowering, hollandaise unforgettable as well .. no canadian bacon.. the prosciutto got lost in the avocado so u barely saw it or tasted it .. the Chopin vodka cocktail had to be sent back as it was too sour from the lemon on two of the cocktails at the table.. both orders.. when the plates were cleared no one asked if we did not care for the dish as the white yuck on the plates should have been a sign that the dish was a HOT MESS..service was not crisp at all, plates piled before they were picked up, etc.. The salmon lox and cream cheese was very good and the bread basket for $12 included 3 pieces of bakery items, not even enough for our party of four.. I am the first one to sing the praises when I have enjoyed a good meal, this was not the case.. $125 for an underwhelming breakfast brunch was a disappointment and we will NOT return for dinner .. Yesterday my family and I had a wonderful dinner here at Stirrups. We were greeted by the friendly host that sat us at our table. Our server Sarah and assistant alexis were both extremely knowledgeable about the menu as well as friendly and tentative throughout the whole dinner. Compliments to the chefs who all prepared this exquisite meal from the delicious lobster bisque followed by the tender juicy steaks as well as the creamy desserts that helped tie up the whole dinner. I ate here twice, Monday April 15th for dinner. Food was excellent as was the service. The next morning at 7:30AM stopped in for a light breakfast of a muffin, bowl of fresh berries and coffee. I asked for black coffee, butter for the blueberry muffin and a spoon for the berries.What I received was barely warm coffee, no butter for the muffin and no spoon for the berries with a disappearing waitress who retired to hide in the kitchen. I finished my breakfast and waited 10 more minutes for waitress to reappear so that I could ask for the check. Finally, I had the opportunity to dine at Stirrups. And I wasn't disappointed. After an impressive drive through the grounds to arrive at the hotel we were greeted by a doorman and valet who took care of our car and welcomed us to the property. The lobby is large and comfortable, complete with fireplace and a remarkable collection of oil paintings of champion canines (yes, they train them too). The dining room is beautiful and roomy. We were escorted to our table and introduced to our server, Brittney, for the evening. Beverages were served and the menus were delivered to our table. Brittney explained that the restaurant changed menu offerings throughout the year and that the menu had changed a week prior to our dinner. We enjoyed fresh oysters and fried green tomatoes at the table for appetizers. Main courses included Red Fish, Pasta prepared with decadent mushrooms and steaks that were perfect. The vegetable accompaniments were perfect. Desserts were up to the meal. The wine list is remarkable and fairly priced, with something for everyone. In addition to being delicious and delightful in every way possible, the meal was served at a pace that allowed the four of us to enjoy a great evening with good friends without being rushed. We went there for Easter brunch. Wait staff was wonderful. Food was over priced for what they served. You can/could go anywhere else for an Easter buffet and have the same food at a reasonable price. Food was served outside, which is understandable for room and flow purposes, however, the food was cold, dry and looked day old. The price was $89 a person, and when you receive your check there is a service charge of $35 for the facility, your tax and a gratuity. For 2 people it was $226.00. WTF Was really hoping this would be a place to go for holiday buffets in the future. Cannot afford it, and not worth it. So I would have given this place five stars but they missed a few things, the steak was excellent and cooked to perfection, but unfortunately we also got multiple fish dishes and the fish on all three were over cooked, also one of the side dishes were lacking flavor, normally I would let this slide but when you spend this much money for dinner as this place charges you expect five star food, service was excellent, everything was excellent, but apparently they need to teach some of the chefs how to prepare fish, flavor was there but it cannot overcook seafood and serve it dry. read more

Celebrated a 16th birthday for my niece here with family. We were blown away with the ambience, food, and service. First, Dion was an amazing server. He made our night very special. The other servers were also amazing. One even brought my grandmother extra rolls to take home. Second, the food was delicious. I personally had the filet and it was perfect. The sides are huge and shareable for 4-5 people. They have an extensive wine list too. Lastly, we loved the decor. The restaurant is inside the beautiful Equestrian Hotel and continues the cute dog paintings along with crystal chandeliers and comfortable white chairs. We will be back again. read more
