Been coming here for years never never faced this "issue" they excused to happen whenever you order regular food and seafood together. I placed my order with the server Steven or Lio not sure since it doesn't say server on the receipt I got. My food came out just fine but never got my 1lb of white shrimp and saw other guests that came in after me get there food first. I waited about 20mins before asking and the server said he just printed out the order and it's coming out in a bit. He had this arrogant attitude about him since we walked in and when I decided to just cancel my order and pay for the regular food I got he asked if I wanted to bag it to obviously laughing about it with his coworkers another short female who where's way too much makeup and young man with glasses and curly hair. On our way out to pay we noticed the server eating the food I ordered so I hope you enjoyed your free pound of shrimp. the host apologized and explained they've had the printer issue for "years" but it never happened before. Not coming back. Looks like post pandemic service is on a decline especially here. Definitely not coming back. We decided to give this place a try, since it was local and making the drive to the boiling crab was a bit too far, which on top of the drive also always has a wait of 1hr or more to get in. We got shrimp, Crab legs, Mussels, Crawfish, Sausage and potatoes, it was good sea food however the Crawfish tasted a little weird so i didn't eat them to be safe (waisted money) Boiling crab sauce is so much better tho, sauce can make or break a seafood boil. FYI: there is also a mandatory 5% tip even if you order to go, check your receipts before signing and leaving establishment, i was charged a 15%, tip!! Went to The Cajun Crab on South street. Their POS system was down and they were explaining to everyone that they were only accepting CASH. I said no problem we are ready, hunned dolla bills ya'll. We sat and no one came over at all for about 10 minutes. We left. Money walked out. We noticed this new Stinkin Crawfish on the way home on the corner of Paramount and Alondra. We know the one close to home in Downey is always packed so we figured it must be good, so we stopped at this Paramount location. Service was great from the get go. Our server Earnie was pretty awesome, cool and attentive. We ordered two kinds of shrimp with corn, potatoes, and sausage. My son had chicken fingers. 16 0z aluminum bottle Bud Lights only $3.50. A plus. Shrimp was good. Sauces were good. But just OK. once we peeled the shrimp it was really bland. Was expecting more flavor. Food over all 3 stars. Add 1 star for the great service. Other than that, we normally prefer to drive all the way out to Santa Ana and go to Hot N Juicy Crawfish. Hands down better food/flavor. Cheaper on the food but more pricey on the beer. Overall balances out. Would prefer to make the drive to Santa Ana. Hands down. Would still go here again to try other items. Plus service was great. Cheap beer. Just not 5 stars. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service I've ever had I will never go here again. I called in my order an hour early at 6:30 for pick up at 7:30 they made me stand in line for 10 minutes then at 7:40 515 minutes after my order is supposed to be ready they told me it's still not ready I tell them I would like to order another pound of shrimp and it took them another 20 minutes to finish my order. The worst part was they were letting people cut in line to put their name on the waitlist in front of others that were waiting to put their name on the waitlist I saw it happen four times until finally I was telling people you need to say something and get your name on the list they're not checking even though they have a sign that says one customer at a time inside they had three at a time at one point standing around inside and still nobody checking to put their name on the waitlist for the people standing in line outside. They lost a customer forever today I heard they were telling people they're short staffed there is no excuse for letting people cut in line during the strict conditions if you want us to adhere to your new rules then you have to enforce them and tell people to wait in the line. And to top it off, I asked for mild mild because this was going to be for kids that don't like spicy and it was miserably hot. Definitely, lost me and my friends forever. read more

I am a pretty regular here, but the last two visit have been a little disappointing. Service is usually fast and food is good, but this last visit the shrimp was over cooked. The potatoes were hard and the calamari was less of their usual portion. Koodos for the Oreo and vanilla desert. Micheladas are decent even tho they aren't my thing. read more

First timer! It was delicious May husband and I ordered mussels, snow crab and tiger shrimp dipped in butter garlic and lemon pepper. Everything was cooked to perfection and the hospitality was great! The waitress and manager continuously checks on us and cleaned up. I've been going to the stinkin crawfish but today was a complete disappointment. The sauce was watery and had a mildly sweet flavor. I asked the server about the sauce and she told me the recipe has changed. It didn't have that Cajun flavor it used to and was very watery. This location is horrible. Service is astonishingly horrendous. I was left waiting for my food for 45 minutes then when I asked about my order they told me the printer didn't send in my order. Then as I'm getting mad at the situation the manager has the audacity to blame me and say you didn't notice it was taking long. He didn't apologize. He didn't try to comp my meal. On the third day (1/9/15) they were open in Downey, I decided to try the Stinkin Crawfish. I haven't made it to the Boilin' Crab, yet, but I've been to similar restaurants as this in Texas and also the Boat House in Alhambra. Alas! Something different in D-O-DUB for a change. Solid 4 stars. Here's why: Good, fresh food. For starters I wanted an order of the Garlic Cajun Mango Habanero fries ($4.99). I gravitate towards really spicy food, and these were not hardly spicy at all. In fact, the mango added a sweetness that I didn't think I would like, but it was balanced out by the garlic. These came out a few minutes after I asked for an order of them to be put in as my appetizer. Also, these are fairly thick fries which I usually don't enjoy, but these were good. They had $1 scallops and $1 oysters. I passed, though. Some of the drink items were a little on the expensive side if you ask me. Instead, I ordered a bottled water ($1.00). The waiter checked to see if they had milk which was not on the menu to serve my 18-month-old in case she needed some. They have whole milk. I wasn't about to order any alcohol, but a party near me tried to order some and I overheard the waiter say they couldn't serve any beer or wine because their license had not yet been received. Not sure how long it will be. Moving onto my main course... I ordered one pound of the headless tiger shrimp ($14.99). Other market price items include, of course, crawfish, white shrimp, scallops, clams, mussels, red kind crab legs, and snow crab legs. For my flavor, I opted for the "stinkin special" at the "spicy" level. The only add-in I wanted was a piece of corn on the cob ($.75 each). The bag was served no more than about 10 minutes after I ordered it. Not a bad wait at all. It was piping hot, so I had to let them cool on the paper table cloth a bit. If you like the heat then "spicy" works really well with the stinkin special flavor. Keep in mind, these shrimp are not peeled and still have their legs and tails. They are large shrimp, so 1 lb. was a tall order for me and I ended up taking about 10 of them home. Bibs and a few sliced limes were provided, but I didn't ask about moist towelettes since I used some of my own wet wipes. I saved room for dessert... Check-in to Yelp to get the deep fried Oreo and ice cream offer. My 18-month-old daughter didn't have anything from the restaurant as there is not a kid's menu and overall everything is fairly spicy, but the waiter still hooked both of us up for free desserts. That was awesome of him! The atmosphere is pretty cool. There are several large flatscreen TVs. They played a few throwback Mariah Carey songs. The sink in the women's bathroom was a little dirty, but the rest was clean. I knew very well in advance that this would not be a good place to accommodate younger children, but I thought for sure they would have a baby changing station. Not so! The service... I had no problems with the service. They were friendly. Apologized in advance for any kinks. But I noticed that two other parties around us needed silverware so they went over to the area where it was located to get it. I could tell it was kind of awkward for the waiter... All they had to do was ask. The waiters were very attentive and quick to get us what I needed, but then again it was just me & my babies. If it was any more crowded, I can see where the service may run a little thin. They will need more help! I really appreciated meeting Jay, the manager. He went around to talk to each table & answered questions very honestly. Real nice guy. The restaurant had only one other party when I arrived shortly after noon (which was when it opened). But then as I received my meal it was filled at about 60% capacity. This is the second Stinkin Crawfish in SoCal. The first was in West Covina. Now Downey, and one will open up in Whittier at a later date. The meals are pricey. The food is messy. The service may or may not be slow, but it is still good Cajun style food in a laid-back setting. Parking... The Stinkin Crawfish is located on Firestone Boulevard in the Downey Gateway Shopping Center (across from Porto's). Parking is available around back, but there's only one entrance. It faces Firestone, so you will essentially need to go through the Gateway courtyard past Round Table, Starfish Sushi, and Yogurtland, and hang a left then you'll see it. I came for a birthday celebration here, we were a party of nine and service was good, food was good, but nothing outstanding. Beer is resonantly priced at $4 for bottles, I had Stella Artois and the server had it out in a few minutes. The server was really nice and approachable. I had a few questions about how scallops were cooked and about the yummy fried Oreo and she answered it all. Make sure you check in for that complimentary dessert. Scallops were cooked perfectly and the garlic butter was perfect. Cajun style cole slaw was sweet and yummy. I had some of my husbands fried catfish and the batter was thin, crispy and fish was fresh. Now that all the good cute stuff is out of the way, I have two complaints. One is the music was much too loud for me. Either I'm getting old, or -- no I'm not the music was obnoxiously loud. Also, my party had paid our bill and were walking out when one of the servers ran out to tell us about a drink we hadn't paid for. How embarrassing... is one drink really worth running out of the restaurant? Not to me, those are measures you take when someone has skipped out on the bill. Not the case here. I said at this point give me my money back then she gives me a number to call if I don't see the refund in a few days. So now I'm leaving without my food or my money, I told her give me the food back if she wasn't able to provide an immediate refund and she said she couldn't. I'm so fed up with this place this has happened to me twice so I know they're handing out empty crab legs on Togo orders. Never had this problem at Lakewood. I'm never going back to this place . Normally I am use to Boiling Crab flavors, so compared I rate them a 4/5. I loved how for a couple of bucks more you can get the shrimp already peeled and de-veined. The cajun bag I shared with my boyfriend was a pound of peeled shrimp, 4 potatoes, sausages and 2 corn!!! All Day Everyday Special: $1 Oysters Two dozen please! For what it is, they were excellent in taste and size. I have no regrets, Eastern Blue Point Oyster are the way to go. In addition to the oysters, we ordered 1/2 lb of white shrimp and 1/2 lb of headless tiger shrimp with the medium stinkin special sauce. The sauce was at a good consistency as it wasn't too thick. In all honesty, the sauce is probably just as good as Boiling Crab but its own style of sauce. It was spicy enough without being too overpowering to allow your mouth a break. We've been to 3 of the stinkin locations, coming from West Covina where OG Kevin would take excellent care of us, our expectations are high. Downey is our new fav and go to location. The brews are cold, they got some good on tap selections and good prices. The food is top notch, with my fav being the crab & cheese bacon wrapped jalapeños This past Wednesday during The Astros World Series game, the restaurant was down to only "Huera" Peyton and Johnny. You'd think a packed house with two crew members would result in bad service...quite the contrary. These two, kicked butt and we got better service than we did on Sunday with a full staff. Props to them! Our other top crew member Kevin was not in that day, but he's always on top of everything whenever we drop by. Those 3 are definitely the Stinkin MVPs of Downey. I chose half lb of white shrimp and half lb of mussels, I got the special sauce with a spicy level to it, plus I added "make it awesome" with it definitely went well with it Make it awesome adds four pieces of sausages, two small potatoes and half corn on the cob. I like spicy food and it was definitely good. Most places are not spicy at all. So if you're not into spice don't get that combination. First time here. Food: amazing. Saturday, 6:30pm: Severely understaffed. The waitresses had to do their best to greet and register people AND wait the tables. Unfortunately the waitresses didn't have enough hustle for my taste. The turn around from sitting and waiting to be seated was ridiculous. The bussers let food sit on the table for 5 minutes before even coming to throw the trash away-- and this is with 5 parties of 4-6 people waiting for over 30 minutes. It took forever to be seated.
