The staff was very friendly, and we were seated pretty quickly. My friend ordered the Split Chilaquiles, which came with both verde and rojo sauce, and she added an egg and avocado. We were a little surprised that the avocado came as guacamole rather than avocado slices. I ordered the Madres Chilaquiles, which came with red sauce, birria, and chicharrón, and I added an egg. Both plates came out looking beautiful and were plated really nicely. Overall, though, the chilaquiles were just okay. The birria had good flavor, but I definitely would have liked more meat on mine. We're also pancake lovers, so of course we had to try the viral Journey Pancakes. They came with strawberry crumble, and they poured the strawberry condensed milk over them tableside, which was a fun touch. Unfortunately, these were probably our biggest disappointment. The strawberry flavor tasted very artificial and overly sweet, almost like cheap melted strawberry chocolate, and the pancakes themselves were really chewy. They looked amazing, but the flavor and texture just weren't for us. Now, the café de olla was delicious! I ordered the traditional café de olla, while my friend tried the café de olla with milk. Both looked beautiful and smelled amazing. Mine had that traditional flavor I love, and hers was nice and creamy. I had never tried café de olla with milk before, and I really enjoyed it. One thing I do think people should know is that café de olla refills are not free. When our waiter came by and asked if we wanted refills, we assumed they were complimentary. We didn't realize we were being charged for another cup until we received the bill. I've usually experienced free refills on my café de olla so I would have appreciated being told there was an additional charge when the refill was offered. Overall, the atmosphere was great, the service was great, and the café de olla was definitely the highlight for us. Unfortunately, seeing all the hype online, we were hoping the food would stand out a little more. Everything looked beautiful, but taste-wise, it was just okay for us. I'm glad we finally got to try it and check it off our food adventure list, but I don't think it's somewhere I would make the drive back to.

I wish I had taken pictures of the plates as it all looked so lovely! I didn't even take a picture of my own food haha. I had my eyes on an omelet, one of the Benedicts or the Chicken n Waffle. In the end, the chicken and waffle won. It comes served with a little container of maple syrup with bacon pieces. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The waffle was delicious, though I did request for some extra syrup on the side. To drink, a few ladies ordered mimosas, one ordered an iced caramel coffee, and I ordered the Carajillo. I fell in love with this drink last summer in Mexico and do not often see it on the menu. I love the subtle citrus notes the Licor 43 adds to this espresso drink. It is very similar to an espresso martini, and theirs comes topped with a toasted marshmallow. I honestly wanted to try almost every item in their Tipsy Barista section of their drinks. I'll just have to come back that many more times :) Plenty of parking in the mall lot. It does get pretty packed during peak hours. Fortunately I had called ahead to put our group of 6 down. We went in on Saturday around 11:30. It slowed down a bit while we were eating, but started to get busy again after 1. Otherwise, we might have been forced to honor their 90-minute rule.
