I have to say District has stepped up its food and coffee game a lot. I have been frequenting their…read morelocations more and more, especially the Elmwood one. I recently discovered their boozy coffees and that they sell Vietnamese coffee - eff the world condensed milk glory! So, freaking good. During the holidays, they sell egg nog lattes which are creamy and so delicious. But if you want the boozy one, go with the District Lebowski. Jaw drop, so good! I still think the donuts themselves need more work - I wish they would taste sugary like the ones in Lafayette called Meches. The toppings are exquisite and those hot honey fried chicken sliders are the best! The staff are very professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. I kind of wish those boozy coffees were at the other locations, but other than that, keep doing what you are doing!

This one feels like a chain restaurant (which it now is) and has no real personality being pinned in between a bike shop and a Jersey Mike's inside of strip mall. The kolaches at District are really good. They have a variety of flavors, I usually get a smoked sausage, cheese and jalapeno which is tasty but this time I got a brisket boudin and cream cheese kolache in a collaboration with Gonzo's. This was phenomenal. I also got a regular glazed donut. This was not that good. It's too dense and too thick. I like my glazed donuts to be light and airy; I want it to almost melt in my mouth. All of District's donuts are thick. Most of them are good especially the banana pudding donut. The issue is these aren't really donuts more like cakes or just a dessert. If you are coming to get your order to go this place is fine but if you want to hang out, I prefer the other locations.

It was just one scoop of disappointment after another. First of all, the "black and gold" flavor that one of us was so excited to have again had freezer burn on it and the chicory flavor was way less pronounced; their king cake flavor was essentially just birthday cake with Mardi Gras-themed sprinkles in it. The other one of us ordered "sweater weather" and it basically tasted like you were mainlining nutmeg. Too intense! And the creole cream cheese just tasted like plain cream cheese--and not in a good way! Our daughter was happy with her cotton candy (blegh) cone. We would not exactly describe portions as generous. Also, it should be mentioned that it was around 50 degrees outside and they had the A/C on full blast in there. Yes, we understand you don't want to pump the heat up and melt the ice cream, but we were shivering. Very unpleasant! What a bummer because we had the fondest memories of Creole Creamery and now it's quite soured. Maybe we need to go back to the Garden District location on another trip, but three stars for now.

Located in a semi-sleepy warehouse'y area of Elmswood, they manage to crank out delicious baked goods daily and have made a name for themselves through local catering. While they bake a number of things, I think it's safe to say cakes are their most popular item. They make really awesome wedding cakes, sheet cakes, cupcakes, and a really stellar king cake. The latter is available year round, which is really convenient. The doberge cake is perfect for chocolate lovers and the NOLA wedding cake is decadent. A lot of people sleep on their ooey gooey cake, but it's definitely one of the most indulgent things they make. Their custom cakes look incredible and are extremely creative. They also bake some really high quality bread. From french bread to pastries, they can produce stuff perfect for building the perfect muffuletta, poboy, or the underrated but always lovely pullman loaves. They also make muffins, fruit tarts, pies, and the coolest swan shaped cream puffs. Delivery is available and the customer service is really outstanding. Email is an easy way to get in touch but they're really good about helping folks establish the perfect sweet / tasty lineup for all special occasions.
