Bbq was delicious. The service was top notch. Good kids meals and coloring sheets to keep them busy. Fun tables and comics on the walls! Lots of beer to choose from and also cocktails! Highly recommend for families and non families! read more

Stiggs hasn't been around all that long apparently but it sure feels like an institution. Great family friendly vibes and a solid place to eat and drink. The Red Wagon is a nice crisp light beer, one of the best I've had from a small brewer. BBQ is on point, go for the house fries but make sure you have a drink on hand. read more

My parents and I ate at Stiggs just after getting into town. We were hungry and the menu looked good! Keith provided excellent service and great recommendations for both food and drinks! The restaurant is gorgeous, with bottle cap art everywhere. The food was fantastic: we tried the smoked pork tacos, the brisket sandwich, and the Cubano. All of which were very tasty and the upgrade for a side of fries was a good choice! We had brussel sprouts for an app and they were awesome. There are a good variety of beer options on tap as well! We would definitely return for round 2! read more

Great place - my husband and I enjoyed the atmosphere. Keith the bartender had great knowledge and suggestions. We both enjoyed the Screaming Tree a Pale Ale - very good. Music playing was absolute perfection!! THANK YOU for reading the crowd Oh - we also had the Brewery Burger it was just a traditional burger. It was good - but the fries... SIGN YOURSELF UP!! We had the OG fries and they were FIRE!! I believe served with the House Aioli - unsure but also the flavor was fantastic! read more

A brewery with AMAZING food and great beers! They specialize in smoked meats, & they do not disappoint. The beers are excellent & the board options are many. What a great find in this small ski/summer town! read more

Stopped in while walking around ton. Very cool vibe. Interesting decor. We sat outside and went in to order. We got 3 different appetizers and all were very delish. We had a group of 6 and everyone really raved about the pretzel. Didn't see that coming but they couldn't stop eating it lol. Worth the stop read more

My wife had the Stiggs Brisket Pasta (I tasted it and wowsers it was great) and I had the Blistered Brussel Sprouts along with the Smoked Wings (with the house rub). I had the Honey Cinnamon Brown Ale (7.2 ABV) and the NoMI Blackout Stout - Nitro (9.1% ABV) to drink. Wow - what a great lunch. Wonderful flavors. I couldn't finish the wings and my wife couldn't finish her pasta but I did finish the Brussel sprouts. The flavors will bring me back. I love the beer flavors. Service was great. I was there around 2:00 on a Tuesday it's not the busiest part of the day but the time of day did not affect the quality of our visit. Would we return? Heck yeah. Was it worth our hour drive? Heck yeah. I've had their Original Stiggs burger before it was also awesome. As General MacArthur once said, "I shall Return !" read more

I ordered from the food truck at the UP Beer Festival. The BBQ pork was fine, almost good. The brisket was entirely flavorless even though despite being more than 1/2 fat. The fries (which said salt and pepper on the sigh) had no salt or pepper. They were the thick fat fries so it was like chewing on a dried, plain baked potato. My partner ordered the Mac and cheese waffle cone, which he liked. The BBQ made me sad that a cow died to be so flavorless. read more

There were more negatives than positives about Stiggs. I saw the previous reviews about having to bus your own tables. Surprisingly enough, someone came by and bussed our table! If only that made everything else better. We followed all the directions. We got our menus and sat down. We went to the bar and tried to order. After no one came (I'm sure bartender was busy) then I ordered at front door. The person working that area did not seem to like that idea. They tried to instruct me to order at the bar. Finally, they took my order after explaining that no one came to side bar. The food came out pretty quickly. I ordered smoked salmon. Let me preface with saying that I like some salt on my food. But my goodness, it was the saltiest dish I have ever had. It was a shame because the salmon did not need any extra salt. And the mashed potatoes were inedible due to oversalting. The beer was okay. But you have to get up and go order more drinks or get your refills. I think I would not mind this so much if on the bill - I am asked to give 18, 20, or 25% tip. I love rewarding good staff with a nice tip but it did not even feel right to give them 18%. But I did. I would skip this place next time you are in Boyne City. There has got to be a better option. read more

Stopped in on a whim after being at Boyne Mountain and sat at the bar. The bartender was very nice and explained the menu, what's made in house and the drinks. I am gluten free and she walked me through everything I could have safely. I hate the smoked chicken sandwich and my husband had a burger. Everything was very good. My only wish was that the sandwich had a bit more sauce but otherwise really good food. read more

Great service, HUGE portions and cold beer. We made it a family affair and my kids loved looking at all the skis on the walls, the bottle cap tables and the colorful drawings on the beer menu. Very much looking forward to their Charlevoix location! read more

Good food, good environment. We came during the pirate event, so sitting outside made it fun with all the music. Service was busy but kind.

First. Beer: We really enjoyed the Beaver Bait 8.1% alc I wrote this so we can remember the next time we come here: it won't be another trial and error drinking game. The flights were fun to try. Second. Food: The Brisket Melt was really unique. The house smoked brisket was truly something I have never had before. Just salty enough. Just spicy enough. Really, perfectly prepared. On grilled rye with white cheddar, caramelized onions and horseradish sauce. Yum! The BBQ pulled pork was also amazing. The "famous cherry/porter sauce" was just right for not overpowering the taste of the pork. Served on a brioche with coleslaw. Again, excellent. The only downside was confusion around the live music. We though it lasted until 4, arrived at a little before 3, and were disappointed. Our server was good. Good enough. We will be back! read more

Pretty good spot right in the heart or Boyne and walking distance from our Airbnb. They have life music on Friday and Saturdays. Our family went there on Saturday, December 27th for lunch. Overall, a B grade. No prices for kids menu items. A couple of the kids ordered Mac & Cheese and we were charged $12 each. An adult portion was $17 and over twice the portion. The kids portion should have been no more than $6-8. Twelve? Way, way too much. read more

We're visiting Boyne for a long weekend and stopped in on a Saturday night. We sat on the patio since we had our dogs with us. The beer and drinks were good (strongly recommend the Stiggs Manhattan!). We absolutely loved the live music outside. We had the brussel sprouts as an appetizer which were really good and both had a burger which was surprisingly really good! The only reason I'm giving four stars is when I requested a table outside, I explained we had two dogs with us (mind you they were little) and the hostess saw our dogs then seated us in a high traffic area. Servers were constantly passing through a small space by our table and even when our dogs were laying down, they had to maneuver around them because the table was against a wall with little space for them to exist safely out of the way. Some of the workers were nice about this, some not. There were plenty of empty tables we could have been sat at where this wasn't a problem or concern. Other than that, we really enjoyed Stiggs! read more

We came here for dinner on a Saturday night with 10 people and they were able to seat us in the vault right away. Everyone said their food was good. We went by here during a weekend stay in Boyne City and we were completely wowed by the delicious bbq and beer. We ordered the brisket platter, pulled pork sandwich, and kids meals and enjoyed a few IPAs. Every part of the meal down to the sides like potato salad and fries were notably great. The friendly service and cozy interior were also very appreciated. We will definitely be back next time we are in Boyne! read more

After a long day on a boat, my friends and I really needed a nice, satisfying dinner. Thankfully Stiggs was around the corner. This restaurant is known for BBQ and gives off a strong "Slow's" vibe. The decor/presentation is quite similar to that restaurant and the aroma was just as inviting. We made it a point to order a bunch of food and share it so we could get the full experience. Not everything we ordered is pictured here, but I will try to summarize the food in the simplest way: A) Chili: Bland B) Salmon Pate: Great C) Loaded Fries: Good D) Boneless Chicken (aka Beaver Bites): Great E) Beef Brisket: Okay F) Smoked Chicken: Good G) Cole Slaw: Okay H) Fish & chips: Excellent Overall a good experience, but some menu items were far better than others. We all HIGHLY RECOMMEND the fish & chips. They honestly taste like they came from England. Service was good too, but prices were kinda all over the place. Despite the shortcomings, we really did enjoy our dinner! read more

Amazing food, amazing beer, great people, and a business that has heart. You need to check Stiggs out! Everything we've had here has been excellent. The building is also beautiful and historic, really neat inside and out! After going a few times, we've learned how much Stiggs cares about and supports the people around them. It's hard to find good beer and good food in the same place. Stiggs has it! My husband and I both got beer flights and all the beers were really good. I had the smokehouse burger which was killer amazing and my husband had the rib platter. I tried everything on his plate and it was all super good. Best potato salad I think I've ever had. My son had the original Stiggs burger and he said it was the best burger he's ever had. Also, our food came out super quickly, which we really appreciated. The server was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about all the beers which helped when we picked out our flights. Can't wait to be back! Cheers. read more

Stiggs is AWESOME! We really enjoyed this brewery. Stiggs is located in the little city of Boyne. We loved everything about it from the food to the brews. The brewery itself is super cute and we decided to sit at the bar and talk to the beertender who gave us suggestions. We really enjoyed our time here, we grabbed a passport stamp, stickers and of course our tagabrews. Onto the next one.... read more

In town with the girls for a book club retreat. We stopped in for dinner and had an awesome meal at an exclusive spot located in the basement of Stiggs Brewery. We were the only guests down there and we got a great view of the beer making process, their surplus of supplies and ingredients and a few fun staff members. Our waiter, Dan, was super fun and willing to go out of his way to answer questions and accommodate our group (even if we didn't like his favorite beer). We had the best time and the food was spectacular and want to say a big, "Welcome!" to our newest book club member, Dan! Fun little pub running downtown Boyne city the owner simplified the menu and what he does he does well craft beers are abundant from all over the state of Michigan and even brewed right here in Boyne city all of them are good. Sometimes service can be a little spotty, just based on the availability of servers, but as well recommended bistro, and pub won't be disappointed read more

The food was great, the wings fantastic. Beer was very good. The catch - it's partial self service now where you go up to bar to order and help bus the table.. weird. The kicker - when you pay it asks for tip of 18, 20, 25 Weird to have that after all the new non service features- oh well food was still good read more

I've eaten a lot of bbq in my life- St. Louis, KC, Dinosaur, Jack Stack, NC, etc. This place MAY be the best I've ever had! Not great, not bad. Kind of in the middle of the road on this place. House brews were decent, but a bit warm. I got a Cobb salad which was ok, husband got a pulled pork sandwich he enjoyed. The chili was good, fries are tasty.. but also a 3 dollar up charge. Cool concept, but the execution needs work. When you sit at a table where the cooks and prep food walks by from the Down stairs. Watching men bring up containers of slaw mix with the sour cream container and other ingredients containers sitting in the jug.. on top of the cabbage mix. Or the dripping bowls of dressing they just made. Maybe this was an off day, but I very rarely order a 14 dollar salad and take two bites. read more

What a cool new spot that has come to Boyne City. This establishment is in a really cool old train administration building. You've got a table in an old vault, walls and corners to snoop around and it's has a really friend vibe. Staff is very friendly and they have a lot of different events going on for you to enjoy your time. I'm not a big grill cheese kinda guy, but this grilled cheese, I mean how could you not want it; just read the description: "Stonehouse 7 Grain Bread, Pepper Jack, American, and Provolone with Bacon Jam, Diced Pickled Jalepeno, and a Cup of Tomato Bisque" and the thing is huge. Fries are great and their home brewed Hefe I had was top notch You want to try the MI craft beer scene, this is great place to come to get a good idea of what MI has going on on that front. With a cool historical building, friendly staff, unique items on the menu and a good selection of MI craft brews, this is one spot you'll want to check out any time of year. Many restaurants deserve a good even a great rating, but how do you distinguish the truly great ones? I'm conflicted in writing a review for Stiggs Brewing, because I don't want it to become so popular that I can ever find a table when I go there. I'm 60 Jan have had thousands of hamburgers across the US and even in Germany and the UK, but I can honestly say the Stiggs smokehouse burger with brisket is in my top three if not #1. Match that up with an end less selection of great beers and atmosphere and you've found something special. read more

A friend of mine and I were staying in Boyne Falls for a ski weekend and headed over to Stiggs for dinner on our first night. We love trying new beers (and food, obviously) and were so excited to find this brewery! Stiggs has a great variety of beers on tap, including a big selection of their own offerings and lots of choices from other Michigan breweries (Bell's, Short's, Vivant, etc). We both liked the beers that we chose, and our waitress was happy to let us sample a couple first. The food menu also had a lot to offer. I settled on the Smoked Tomato Ragout, because I love a good vegetarian option - it was so good! Full of tomato flavor and the beans (I think they're beans?) were so good and hearty. My friend went with the Stiggs Cobb salad and she enjoyed her meal as well. I totally want to come back and try the Mac and cheese next time, though... The place also has very cool decor - bottle caps on the tables and along the bar. Also looks like they have a mug club, which would be cool for someone who lives in the area or is around Boyne fairly regularly. Overall, super glad we found this place! Will be back next time we're on a ski trip up there. read more
