Now I know the card is good because there is over $2000 in that account and the card works every where else I use it, so I go inside and tell the clerk and she comes outside, walks to the pump and then begins to insult me with some garbage about how I'm doing it wrong or some similar crap. Extremely insulting manner. She starts in on me..... So now a shouting match ensues, I leave and go down the street to Louie's Market and use the exact same card, swipe it once and fill up my truck. I have lived outside Boyne City for 10 years now and I have always gone there for gas, diesel, propane exchanges, lotto tickets and liquid refreshments....no more. I just called Marathon Headquarters in Findlay, Ohio and told them to clean up that operation and until they do I am now Louie's new customer. I feel no need to be insulted as a customer. They have lost me and I hope you will also consider if you want to deal with insulting people that yell at you when their card reader at the pump doesn't work and you ask them for help.

They do the job punching the buttons and collecting the payment, but that's where it ends. Understanding that, the store itself is massive. Several coffee options, frozen drinks, coolers full of many different brands and flavours. Shelves of most anything you could possibly need. But the biggest attraction: Chester's Chicken. Chester's is hot chicken prepared on site, offered in combination or ala carte'. When we lived downstate we ate Chester's for lunch 2-3 times a week. Imagine my surprise finding this one. I needed a digital photo to renew my passport. I haven't gotten one since back when my passport was first issued, and had no idea what had to be done. Fortunately, a Google search directed me to CVS. A CVS clerk directed me to Ryan. And Ryan handled the multi-step process as smoothly as anyone could ask. Ryan probably does this so often that he considers it no big deal. It was. I'd already been to another business which supposedly offered the service; turns out it didn't. So it was a pleasure to work with an employee who knew his business, did it efficiently, and was mighty friendly while doing it. There's plenty of pharmacies around Traverse City. Ryan and employees like him are CVS's competitive edge.
