We really enjoyed our time here We had the place to ourselves for most of the visit. Its a very quiet setting away from town. We thought the outdoor seating area was really unique and comfortable. The beer was definitely above average. I thought the Pilsner and the Kolsch in peticular were fantastic. The ciders were very good too. I think the gentleman who served us was either the owner or manager. Very friendly. Overall it was a great experience. Looking forward to returning to try the cocktail menu. read more

Our group returned today since we had such a good time before. The service was still impeccable! I called ahead and since we had a group they were willing to open up early for us if we needed. They reserved an igloo for us as well as having indoor seating for us. We opted to sit in the igloo, despite the temps being in the 20s. It has a heater but was still a bit chilly. This is a very small mom and pop type of brewery. These do serve some small food items here, but they do not have a grill/fryer so everything is pre-packaged, toasted and microwaved (things like funnel cake, soft pretzels, etc). I believe the two people working behind the counter were the owners. They were very nice and were attentive to everyone in there. The place is small - only about 5 tables, and they were filled up. The beer is pretty good - they had about a dozen on tap, and then they have the famous "S'mores Porter" in which you get a table-side marshmallow toasted for you, and set into your beer. It was good! The other beers that we tried were pretty good as well. This was a fun stop! read more

A great little mom and pop with outdoor seating (and shade) and two mini pigs and wine and whiskey. I tried the beer and cider and it was delightful. What a great venue for brews and food. Beautiful setting, well furnished and appointed. Super friendly staff and wonderful service. We rented one of their Gazebos for 2 hours and ordered food as described below. We ordered a charcuterie board supplied by Graze Catering and 2 wine flights with three of their brews in decanters. Along with 4 children's 'cocktails' this set up fed 12 of us (6 adults, 6 kids). It was so so good. On a day like today, what else could be more fun up in the northland? Had a wonderful afternoon at Burnt Marshmallow! Husband did the whiskey flight and thoroughly enjoyed that each one had very distinct qualities. I had a beer flight with a Polish Lager, S'mores Porter, IPA, and an Amber Ale. Nothing terribly impressive, but enjoyable. I was worried the S'mores Porter would be sweet, but it ended up being a really nice Porter with just a hint of burnt sugar. Lastly, the kids had a beautiful space to run around, play bags, watch pigs, and generally have fun which made for a great afternoon for everyone. I would definitely recommend steering clear of peak hours with small kids, but for a Tuesday afternoon, all was good! read more

After one lady told us I could bring Gerdie out, my 20 pound dog, THE OWNER came out after about 20 minutes, very rude, and told us they do no except dogs. After nearly fighting with my dad, he told us, after we bought their flights, drinks, and atmosphere that we had to leave because of Gerdie, again, my 20 pound dog who was wet, laying down, under the table on a rainy day, that we needed to leave. He then proceeded to tell us that his WAITRESS WOULD BE FIRED AFTER TELLING US GERDIE WOULD BE WELCOME. Their beer is sub par, their atmosphere is less then desirable and their ownership is downright disrespectful. Please do not give them you're money. read more

We were in Petoskey for a few days on a ski trip. My husband and I arrived earlier than our friends, so we decided to grab a drink at Burnt Marshmallow and we're glad we did! I love that when we arrived it was a small low key place! Inside you have garage door windows that overlook a beautiful field. My husband ordered one of their IPAs and I did a flight. Everything was delicious! I especially liked their S'more Porter and Cranberry Cream Ale. I wished I would have ordered a glass of the S'more Porter because they finish it with a flaming Marshmallow on top! I came back here on a Monday afternoon in July. This place was extremely, extremely Covid-conscious. I wasn't able to drink the beer due to being pregnant but I did like that they had something on the menu called "Pregnant Pause" which was an alcohol-free cocktail which tasted good. We called ahead and got (reluctant) permission to bring our dogs. The outdoor seating is spread out and quite large, which is nice. The ordering is all through your phone but they bring it out to your table. That process was pretty seamless. I do think that the food pricing is a bit high due to the fact that the "charcuterie board" is basically a glorified, packaged lunchable. However the atmosphere is great and I appreciated the precautions that they took due to the pandemic. read more

This was another cool spot to check out when we spent some time in Petosky, this summer. This brewery is out in the country! We had to take a little drive from Petosky, but the countryside was gorgeous. They are very strict with Covid safety precautions. You have to make a reservation and all ordering is done online. This does take some additional time, but it is so worth it! It was a beautiful evening and the sun was setting perfectly over the large rolling vineyard. All seating was outside, luckily the weather was perfect. Due to the large outdoor area, the brewery was able to offer such a quaint space for enjoying your brews. There were so many options such a picnic tables, small areas set up with lawn chairs, bistro sets.....you name it they had it socially distanced and adorable. There is a fire pit area and a place for yard games. They even have a space for private rentals with cute "tent" space for your private party. The beer was fantastic! We ordered a flight and threw in some seltzers. We have really enjoyed the seltzer game lately. BMB offers so flavorful options to choose; you will not be disappointed. If you happen to be out in the area, this is a must stop on your trip! Just an FYI, if you prefer the vino, they are also a winery. read more

Kinda out of town but worth the pretty drive. Nice small space with outside seating . They have two pigs they welcomed my daughter to feed them carrots. To begin, the staff could not be more friendly. It provided terrific service too. Why BMB gets 2 stars is because of the beer. It is just not very good. A few things I think they need to work out: 1. If you are doing online ordering, you don't want to join a public Wi-Fi and give your credit card number. Our phones did not have good reception to order easily off our own networks 2. Our seat was in the sun, as most tables were. We were told we could not put up the umbrella due to the wind. You may want to consider a different way to shade your guests. Eating in the hot sun is not pleasant. 3. Staff was confused as to whether we had paid for our order or not when the order was placed inside with staff. 4. The one shaded table we could sit at was covered with tree sap. 5. Food was ok. We LOVED Burnt Marshmallow Brewing. We went in early June during the COVID19 situation. They had everything worked out for no-contact ordering and delivery. There were only a handful of guests but we were there on a Monday so that's probably why. We packed sunscreen and bug spray and our son enjoyed playing in the grass, the sand from the bocce ball court, and he wasn't sure about the car ride but he kept asking to ride it again. My favorite part was their wheat beer because it seems everyone wants to carry IPAs and no one has a good summer wheat beer but BMB has more than one option. It's a must try! read more

We LOVED Burnt Marshmallow and Rebeckia Winery! The whole outdoor atmosphere is just phenomenal. The wines and beers are unique and very drinkable. The farm and outdoor activities available are such a fun touch! We came on a cold by sunny Sunday afternoon. We had our dog with us, and she was welcome in the patio area, but we just had to stay away from the pet pigs. No problem! I did go over to see the pigs. One is very social and the other was just... hungry. So sweet. The patio is mostly woodchips and is covered nicely. Lots of tables and such to tie our pup up. There are a ton of activities outside including bocce, slides for kids, horseshoes, bags... and tons of space just to walk around and enjoy the seclusion of this property. I only drank wine, but my husband had a lot of the beers. I did also try to Lemon Lavender Shandy - it's so unique but SO GOOD. It's a year-round Shandy for sure. He also really enjoyed the Ghost Pepper Spicy Hot Citrus red ale. Again, not something you find everywhere but done very well. The owners were very personable and clearly care about their product and their farm. Pretty awesome. Check this out if you're traveling Up North or your destination is Petoskey. The other, more commercial, breweries/wineries pale in comparison to this one. A special experience. I'll post another review for the winery side of the house... read more

Good covid set up where you can just sit at your table and order everything on your phone no need to go up to the bar. Really good beer, especially the stouts had some really good flavors. I got the mango brat that was pretty good, not the best but gets the job done. Also had some of the deviled eggs and blue cheese wine chips both were really good. My favorite was the stinky cheese with some crackers to eat. The place was pretty empty when we were there but they can fill up fast not a ton of seating. I liked the two pigs in the pen you can look at they were pretty funny. Great service with no waiting and always taking away empty glasses. Got to get the stout with the burnt marshmallow in it if you do stop by. read more

Word of caution if you reserve an igloo. The money you put down for a deposit must be spent there by midnight the same day. If you only consume $100 worth of food/drink you either have to spend the remaining balance in the tap room or you lose that money. I realize it says "$200 deposit (minimum spend)", and I acknowledge I didn't fully understand what that meant and therefore I left feeling unhappy with my visit. read more

This brewery is a personal favorite of mine! Whenever we are in Northern Michigan, we make it a point to stop (even if we have to drive quite a bit from Traverse!). We discovered this place on accident while driving from Traverse to Mackinac, it is a bit out of the way but that's half the fun! The people here really make the place special, service is great and they make excellent recommendations. The outdoor space is definitely the reason why we keep coming up. The indoor space is small but the outdoor space is massive with boccie ball, fire pits, and lots of rustic tables for socializing. We normally order a flight (always including a cider and the burnt marshmallow s'more porter). They also have wine flights as this is the physical tasting room for the winery as well. if you like something, you can take home a crowler of beer which we normally do and they have bottles of wine for sale as well. We have never tried any of the food options but I have been tempted on many occasions. This is a very unique Northern Michigan brewery/winery and I cannot recommend it enough! read more
