    a plate of food

If there was no star review I would have chosen it. Our family was driving thru and decided to stop and eat at a bbq place and was horrified with the quality of the food.I ordered a turkey salad and was thinking it would be bbq turkey instead received turkey sliced in my salad and the cabbage was old and not fresh. There was also a fly in my salad. We paid $9.75 for this! As I was leaving I showed the lady that rang up our orders and told her and showed her the rotten cabbage her response was "Oh No" she offered to get me something else but at that moment I was already disappointed with the quality of the food. (Let me tell you the owners sat there and rolled their eyes at each other which I found to be rude) I have a business too and I always make it right for customers she didn't even bother. I would have gotten a better quality salad at Walmart. We spent $47.20 for a chicken salad which said it was in a bed of lettuce and no lettuce was with it, a Brisket sandwich, my BBQ Turkey salad, 1 drink 2 waters. For all this amount I could have gone elsewhere. Too expensive and quality of food is horrible. Don't come here.

    The lackluster burger.

Mediocre at best. Food was blah. Beans tasted sour. Unfriendly staff. Dirty interior.

Flavorful and plenty on your sandwich. Brisket is tender and soft buttery bun. Mamas Rueben is one of the best.

Great BBQ, they have daily specials. Ribs are my favorite. Check out the loaded potato or the deviled eggs.

My favorite thing about Sticks are the desserts: The German Chocolate Cake is great and I'm picky about that cake as it is my favorite!

We love The Sticks. We have them smoke meats for all of our family get togethers. There jalapeño sausage is excellent.

I loved that they kept the bicycle-themed decor- it's a charming tribute to its history. There's a good amount of parking on the right side of the building, though it can get pretty busy, so just a heads up! Here's what my friends and I ordered: Sidewalk Surfer Just FYI, this is only available on Fridays and Saturdays! You can tell all the ingredients are fresh, but I do wish the portion size was a bit larger. That said, the masa cake was unique, so I'm glad I got to try it. Death Grip If you're craving something sweet and savory, this is the one. It tastes like a donut sandwich with deep-fried brioche bread and a side of jam (which has a bit of a kick!) It's definitely on the heavier side but flavorful! Peddler If you're in the mood for something lighter, I'd recommend the Peddler. It's a more refreshing option compared to the Deathgrip. The food took a little while to come out, but our server was incredibly kind and welcoming. She checked in with us regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. Looking forward to coming back and trying more items on the menu the next time I'm in Brownwood!

We are always impressed with the level of service and the quality of the food. The fresh ingredients and the care given to the presentation of each dish leaves us with feeling of satisfaction beyond the food itself. What Wayne and Crystal have done with the renovations and the attention to detail in the dining room is nothing short of amazing. It is relaxing and vibrant at the same time, a welcome addition to the dining experience in Brownwood.

I got my order to go, and they were pretty quick getting my New Yorker out to me. The bathroom was clean, and the restaurant was quite big. Everyone seemed nice inside as well. It's really just your typical McAlister's. This isn't the fault of this location, but holy smokes those prices are outrageous. RIYL: The chain of McAlister's. They make soups and stuff

The dill pickle lemonade was surprisingly good! But... The reason we stopped coming was the shockingly minimal amount of meat on the sandwiches, and the high prices for meat that can't even cover the bread. It hasn't changed, I can't believe they are still in business, this is the same reason we stopped going to (the now closed) Schlotsky's). The amount of ham on those sandwiches seem to be ok, but... I order a 1/2 and 1/2 with a garlic steak and a "bbq" honey pork. The tiny slivers of meat that were there were not appealing at all, they were both the same odd color of grey, and again, couldn't even cover the bread. The flavor (like the meat) was almost non existent. I couldn't even tell which was which... I literally used about six napkins throughout the course of 2 sandwich halves?? What was leaking out? It wasn't water? As I longingly gazed out the window at Chick Fil A I lamented the loss of $35 for sandwiches and drinks for 2 people. So long McAllisters, you blew it for good this time.

Commongrounds is the only coffee shop (that I know of) in Brownwood/Early besides Starbucks and unfortunately, the coffee here is not my favorite- I've tried their coffee 3 or 4 times and it wasn't for me. I feel like the coffee here tastes a little watered down and I don't get the roasted coffee bean flavor that I crave. As for the food here, it's a hit or miss. I tried their BLT sandwich but I would personally skip it. The bacon was too crunchy and hard (it reminded me of those bacon bits that you put on top of salads). If that's your thing, go for it but it was personally not for me. Something I thoroughly enjoyed from their food menu was their breakfast burritos. I've tried their green chile chicken w/avcado burrito as well as their brisket burritos and they were both delicious! And when you add their homemade red and/or green sauce, it's even better. That being said, I tried their 'bowl' version and it's just the filling of the burrito without the tortilla andI didn't think it was worth it. Overall, Comongrounds Coffee is a great spot to catch up with friends or get some work done (they have outlets towards the back as well as wifi). Not to mention, the workers there are friendly and helpful! If you visit, I highly recommend getting their breakfast burritos!
