Putting a whole salad on a hot dog takes what could have been a guilty fast food meal and makes it feel fresh and dare I say, healthy? The peppers were such a great kick and the I also appreciated that the relish was NOT sweet! Both a pickle spear and dill relish on the same dog? Yes ma'am! My friend who grew up here had the protip of getting a cup of cheese for the fries, why not? I just ate so many veggies! We also got an Italian beef with sweet peppers to split. I have had Italian beef before, so this wasn't a new flavor, but it's been awhile, and when I tell you I didn't remember the beef being so flavorful. I think next time I would get it with hot peppers, but the sweets weren't bad. Get a lemon ice if it's warm out, it was smooth and tart and a great finish to a great meal to round out my Chicago trip!

I honestly feel that this visit was long overdue being that I always drive by the location to-and-from work. I was acknowledged as soon as I drove up to the menu display to place my order within the drive thru. Being unfamiliar with the menu, I felt that I had to quickly look through it to pick out what I wanted or what gauged my interest. Out of the many choices featured, I ended up ordering a Tuna Sandwich but could have easily ordered their Grilled Cheese (on Pita) instead. And I waited for it in an acceptable time frame via my drive thru ordering experience. The Tuna Sandwich came on a sub-style bun topped with pickles, tomatoes, onions, relish, mustard and mayo. And to my luck it was fresh and just as satisfying as it appeared. I do recommend it, but if you consider ordering it be prepared to possibly have a messy situation amidst your enjoyment. Need I say that I enjoyed my order, as I have clearly indicated in this review of The Lucky Dog. My husband had the grilled chicken pita and said it was the best he's ever had--freshly grilled chicken with lettuce and tomato. I also spotted the Greek chicken at another table, and it looked excellent. Beer is reasonably priced at $3.50 for domestic and $4.50 for imported. There's a separate gaming room, which I appreciated since it keeps the dining area quieter. Seating is limited to about a dozen tables, but staff cleared tables quickly, so there was no wait. They also partner with popular delivery services. Parking lot is shared with nearby businesses, but most spots seem to be used by Tom's customers. I had a taste for hot dogs and my curiosity for the best of me. As I entered the restaurant, I was surprised by the size of it. I was greeted promptly and with a smile. I explained that this was my first visit, and the employee told me to ask if I had any questions regarding the menu. The menu selection was also surprisingly large There was also a very nice selection of beverages to choose from. I placed my order and it didn't take long at all. I had a long drive home. When I made it home, the food held up and was delicious. Really nice experience and I will definitely come back!
