A happy pic after a good Chili cheese dog

Great Chili cheese dog (Cheddar cheese that is) and fries! Had the Route 66 cream ale soda. The steamed bun was a nice bonus.

I love Henry's and always stop by when I'm in the area. I'm always get a hot dog with fries. Their mozzarella stick are so good and the marinara sauce is not too thick. They're very good for when you want a quick bite to eat.

Henry's Drive-In has been around since the '50s, and they are known for their hot dogs, sandwiches, shakes, and slushies. We came here for an early lunch, and we ordered: +Cheddar Cubes - comes with 12 pieces +a Chicago dog +a Chili dog +and, an Oreo shake Both the dogs were fine, and the side of fries were just okay. The shake was pretty thick and tasty, so that was definitely the highlight of the meal. Staff were no-nonsense - you just place and pay for your orders at the window, and pick the readied items when they call you from the other window. There's a handful of seating inside, and there's parking in their private lot. +tasty shakes +small lot for parking

supposed to be a chilly cheese dog

i haven't been in this place in like 10 years and now i remember why i pay 30 dollars for two regular dogs and two sad chilly dogs and i probably never go back again. i leve a few blocks away but i rather go a bit more further away i do not recommend this place

For those that know Route 66 will know Henry's and it's south side connection. Pulling up you notice how well maintained it is. Service was fun, kind and respectful. Does remind me of the drive in stops of yester-year...Ambiance was what one expects from a great hot dog spot. Placed my order for a hot dog no fries (have to eat healthy ). Was quick and packaged with napkins, so did not need to ask for anything. Served Chicago style! Had a great snap to my bites. Definitely going to come back and try all the other delicacies! Mangia & Cheers!

They don't seem to know what goes on a Chicago Style Hot Dog. No relish?!?! No celery salt?!?! So disappointing.

Great spot for a Chicago-Style hot dog! They have a great sign out front with a hotdog and fries!

Great spot for a quick meal. I would recommend the mozzarella sticks with the red sauce as an appetizer.

I honestly feel that this visit was long overdue being that I always drive by the location to-and-from work. I was acknowledged as soon as I drove up to the menu display to place my order within the drive thru. Being unfamiliar with the menu, I felt that I had to quickly look through it to pick out what I wanted or what gauged my interest. Out of the many choices featured, I ended up ordering a Tuna Sandwich but could have easily ordered their Grilled Cheese (on Pita) instead. And I waited for it in an acceptable time frame via my drive thru ordering experience. The Tuna Sandwich came on a sub-style bun topped with pickles, tomatoes, onions, relish, mustard and mayo. And to my luck it was fresh and just as satisfying as it appeared. I do recommend it, but if you consider ordering it be prepared to possibly have a messy situation amidst your enjoyment. Need I say that I enjoyed my order, as I have clearly indicated in this review of The Lucky Dog. Now that we are no longer strangers, I would more than likely visit again being that it sits along my main route driven enroute towards Dwight D. Eisenhower Expressway. And with that said, I share my endorsement of it with you all on yelp. Service: 4 | Ambiance: N/A | Food: 4| Overall rating: 4 ~ Live. Laugh. Love. ~ Thomas G

Last night I picked up my wife @ St Bernard hospital @ 63rd & the Dan Ryan. While driving down the Kennedy & Dan Ryan I took note of the virtual parking lot on the return trip & decided to take an alternate route home. I went west on 63rd to Cicero Ave & headed north on Cicero Ave. I thought about Scatchell's and knew I had to stop there. Like I said I haven't eaten @ Scatchell's in decades so image my surprise when I stopped in & found that they had expanded beyond their former confines. Scatchell's has a full blown dining area. By that I mean Scatchell's Beef use to be in a tiny storefront similar to a trailer where you walked into a space to a counter where you order your food w/a small counter where you can stand & eat, similar to Johnnie's Beef on North Ave in Elmwood Park or Paradise Pup on River Road in Des Plaines. I ordered their beef dipped in w/giardiniera peppers. To say this beef was incredible is an understatement. The sandwich is loaded w/incredible juicy beef, giardiniera peppers & sprinkled w/crushed red peppers. (I didn't ask for the crushed red peppers) but they added another layer of flavor that just totally brought this beef to another level. This beef has to be one of the top 2 or 3 beef's I ever ate. I forgot how dam good they were. This beef was a bloody mess to eat w/the bread soaked w/the juice it was falling apart in my hands. If you love Chicago Beef this is an "ABSOLUTE MUST" I can tell you The beef competition is stiff in Chicago but Scatchell's is absolutely one of the top 2 or 3 beef's I have ever eaten. When I say this I put them up there w/Al's on Taylor Street in the old Italian neighborhood by UIC). I say this because all Al's are not created equal, Johnnie's beef in Elmwood Park & Bari on Grand Ave Like I said I hadn't been to Scatchell's in decades but I will be back again very soon to have another beef. In an area like Chicago where beef is everywhere Scatchell's reigns supreme & is easily one of the top beef's in a land of plenty. Why eat at the pretenders go for THE REAL DEAL. YOU WONT REGRET IT
