I've been here about 8 times over the past 2-3 years. The food is amazing, service was quick even with the usual groups of high school marching/pep band students (that includes me!) coming during the basketball and football season, but the prices are moderately high and their website wasn't updated when I last looked at it. To be fair, I haven't tried everything on the menu. I usually like to stick with classic Chicago-style foods, hot dogs and burgers. I recommend this if you're in the area, but if you want a real Chicago dog consider Portillo's as another option. read more

Have only been here a couple times, so I can't speak on behalf of the whole menu but the gyros/gyro burger are super delicious. First time ever having a gyro burger and it's definitely worth trying if you haven't had it before. Service was quick, staff friendly, and prices were decent. I haven't eaten everything on the menu. But what I have has been great and I go back to this place for a few things they make very well. The Italian beef sandwich with mozzarella , hotdogs , wings and their soups are wonderful. My favorite is chicken gumbo. Better than average food. You're average greasy hole in the wall fast food heart attack spot. I go often when I'm in the area, they're no one on my list. Best to call ahead to order. They have a lot of selection, I haven't tried it all but the hit dogs and beef sausage and sandwich are good. Never disappointed. read more

In my ever exhausting search to review Chicago area hot dog stands a friend of mine tipped me off to one not too far from his home. On West 63rd street in Summit sits Rudy's Grill, a small little eatery with some old school charm. In driving up to it there is a small parking lot accessible from either 63rd street or a side street. I pulled up parked and then headed towards the building. When you walk inside there's one long counter to eat at along with the the ordering counter on the other side. I went in, fairly quickly placed my order, paid and waited for my food. They have RC products here rather than Coke or Pepsi and a fairly large menu for such a small place. After a few minutes the food was ready and both my friend and I dug in. We ordered the two hot dog special which included fries and a drink and split the hot dogs up one each. The hot dog here comes on a non-poppy seed bun. There was a somewhat thick but not too sour pickle slice here. Some fresh tasting moist onions, nice relish, mustard on it as well. The hot dog did not come with tomato, celery salt or sport peppers. The sausage used here was skinless and appears to be a Red Hot Chicago brand frank. The overall taste of the combined ingredients was excellent and really worked well together. The fries included here were long, somewhat bland fries. They were thick but had some pretty flavorless potato paste inside. They weren't particularly salty or greasy, they were just kind of bland. Overall I found this to be an excellent hot dog. This was well above average and despite the somewhat lousy fries I am going to give Rudy's Grill four stars. If you're nearby this neighborhood dive is definitely worth checking out. read more

I go here very often. The prices are usually fine but now because of COVID they have increased them. Out of the 10 times of been here, I've had bad service 2 times. (Not filling order correctly/rude service). The place is the best when the owner is working but without him the lady behind the cash register isn't the nicest. Overall the food is great tasting but the gyros are VERY overpriced so give it a try. read more

OH MY! Everything weve had so far we loved. Gyro- great, Italian Beef - great, Chicken Philly Plate- Great, Fries ....something about em! Home made soups. Different specials every couple weeks or so to appreciate customers. This past week was BOGO Italian beef. My daughter and mother in law said this is the best beef by far they've had!! Last, but not least the customer service needs 5 stars in itself!!! I shared this with Garfield Ridge and Clearing FB page and the neighbor was excited to know about the great food. The food was good, I did not like that I purposely ordered a hotdog without fries and then asked for fries and they charged me three dollars when if I ordered the hotdog with fries it would've been one dollar. I don't want to negatively affect the food but good customer service goes along way. The girl had the opportunity to treat me like a good customer and did not take the opportunity.
