Let me just say that the ice cream is great (5 stars). I have had Carvel since I was a kid and…read morehadn't come across a Carvel location in eons. In town to take out a friend's daughter attending Syracuse, we stopped in on a Friday night since she never had Carvel in her life! Customer Service (1 Star). Apparently, they close at 9 PM on a Friday night? Despite being in the store at 9 PM, the teenage twit told us they were closed and refused to serve us. I was confused. Another patron and her husband were in the store and had yet been served (they were trying to decide what they wanted) and proclaimed, "no, you are not leaving and they are going to serve you." It is time to grow up and act like an adult." Engaged in a stare down, the young girl (clearly not a lady) refused to budge. Her co-worker having at least gained some element of customer service and de-escalation training, took the 1 minute and created (2) soft serve cones and we were on our way. We enjoyed the cones in the parking lot. We observed the closing procedure from the lot. It took the (3) teens a total of 5 minutes to turn off the lights, put some covers over the ice cream and lock the doors. If I were the owner of this store, I would think seriously who I was hiring to represent the business, and I certainly wouldn't want this teenage snot serving me if it was in the middle of a shift or at closing time. I'm certainly glad I raised my daughter better than this. Note: we probably had the same snotty employee that Eugene B. encountered in his review.

It's weird how you can live a life in fully devoted to getting ice cream whenever possible from…read morewherever possible and still find new places like this. I don't think this place has been around long at least, but we definitely missed in its prime this season. It's kind of tucked away on Nottingham in the Drumlins building. We tried to come here last Sunday. Their posted hours had them opening hours ago, but they were closed. We cried and cried, regrouped, and went to Carvel. They were open the next time we tried a few days later. It seems like a small setup and one-man operation, with a dozen or so flavors of Hershey's hard ice cream and standard soft serve. It's the last week of the season, so they were kind of winding down. I love Fall, but it's sad watching the ice cream places dwindle down once they've stopped re-ordering. And all the best flavors go first. I got a banana pudding sundae and added peanut butter sauce, because peanut butter banana. The banana pudding made a great sundae, and they put something that served as pie crust at the bottom. I wish I'd thought to slow down and see what it was, because it was incredible, but I ate it as quickly as possible. They don't seem to have a ton of selection on the regular menu (maybe they do specials when they're going full speed during the season), but I'd come back to try at least half the sundaes I saw if they're made as well as the one I had. My girlfriend got a milkshake and used banana pudding ice cream, and a scoop of peanut butter ice cream (I forget the name of it). It was an average milkshake she said, but the pb cup pieces in the ice cream and crunch coat added on top made it better. We threw in a counter cookie at the last minute. It was a lot bigger, but I'd compare the taste and consistency to a Wegman's chocolate chunk cookie. Soft and kind of chewy but with a super consistent texture. They're homemade, but have a less than homemade feel to them if that makes sense. We were extremely hungry and taking our ice creams home, so this was to keep us alive for the drive home. I'd have to see some compelling specials or be right in the area to come back here. It's better than a bare bones ice cream stand, but not enough to pull me in from the distance I drove to try it.
