Salad from cliffs

Minutes after buying this salad and having about 5 bites, I found this thing crawling around... They told me due to their lettuce supplier it's pretty common. Disgusting. Unfortunate because I come here often for my lunch break. Used to recommend to all my coworkers as well. Yuck.

Nice spot with clean restrooms and lots of snack options. We had wrap sandwiches. My only qualm was the sandwich ordering process was a little cumbersome. It I say I want the wrap exactly like what is listed on the menu, I shouldn't have to repeat back every item "lettuce, cheese, etc." Just give me what is written on the board. I suppose it is so you can customize, but when you are in a hurry, you just want a darn sandwich. Everything tasted good.

Jersey Mike's Subs

Jersey Mike's Subs

Here comes a quick and easy meal. Jersey Mikes in Syracuse, New York. I thought about Subway, but I…read moredidn't want to walk to the nearest one. It was around 1:30pm on a rainy Friday in Syracuse, NY. I was lazy and didn't want to anywhere touristy that day so I ended up at the Erie Canal Center in the heart of Syracuse. I saw Jersey Mike's and Starbucks. I decided to buy 2 sandwiches. One for lunch and one for dinner. I eventually did just that and entered Jersey Mike's. One was a regular tuna sandwich and the other one was a big kahuna something. I thought that looked and sounded tasty and delicious, so I got those two together. The prices were pretty good. And while I saw them preparing them, I felt like it could have been better. Compared to Subway, feels like Jersey Mike's was trying to be more of a premium offering and a best alternative to Subway. Not that I mind, but you'd get more sandwich and actual vegetables at Subway than here at Jersey Mike's. I felt like getting a $10 sandwich here at Jersey Mike's is more expensive than getting a footlong Subway for $12. More for your money versus just an expensive sandwich at Jersey Mike's. I spent about 20 minutes from start to finish. I had to wait for my kahuna sandwich the longest since it just needed more prep time than my tuna sandwich. It was one of those situations where I didn't know and I just stood there for 10 minutes waiting for the kahuna to be made and delivered to me. While waiting, I chatted with the staff. They were friendly and happy to be there. I had the kahuna sandwich for lunch at the nearby subway and saved the tuna sandwich for dinner later that evening. Both were delicious and nice. Subway would had been more of a bargain since you'd get more food around the same price, give or take. The overall experience here at this Jersey Mike's sandwich shop in Syracuse, New York was decidedly good and yet decidedly okay. Just 2 sandwiches here when I could have been with Subway. It's okay, just lazy ass on vacation here in Syracuse and didn't have a rental car to shlep myself to and from businesses in town. This sandwich shop is quite clean and had air conditioning. Not sure if they had any WiFi, but didn't care. I was here so fast that I didn't need the extra stuff. For the most part though, I thought that Jersey Mike's sandwich shop is an easy and convenient place for sandwiches and good food when you're on the go. While not the healthiest, it's a good sufficiently convenient choice that is borderline good and nutritious for anyone to come here. I did enjoy the tuna sandwich more than the big kahuna sandwich though, although I drowned out the meal with a Starbucks venti Frappuccino with it. While I was there, there was a few people dining there and I decided to do a take out option and ate at Starbucks nearby. If you love your sandwich, consider Jersey Mike's since they have different flavors and options than Subway. Come on in, they'd be glad to have you there. This Jersey Mike's sandwich shop is located at the Erie Canal Center in Syracuse, NY. It's physically located at 3401 Eerie Boulevard E in the heart of Syracuse. They accept major credit cards as well as cash. As far as public parking goes, there's generous parking options here at the Eerie Canal Center. No worries. Best bet would be to come here before meal times and you should be okay with the parking. If you're loving the public transportation system, consider what routes you have to get to this Jersey Mike's location from your original location. There's always also Uber and Lyft for your favorite conveniences. And so, while Jersey Mike's and maybe Panera Bread are Subway's closest rivals when it comes to sandwich mastery, the entire fast food industry is a competitor too. If you love sandwiches and don't mind the quick and deliciousness that Jersey Mike's has to offer, come on down. They'll be glad to see you. 4.0 stars for the overall experience. Support local! B

But when I went there they was a change of management and I tried it out anyway. The chicken sandwich was delicious and the coffee cakes. I could go there everyday for just those things alone. Honestly I didn't even know that this little shop was hiding here until a friend of mine had told me about it. Hiding in the Mass Mutual Buildings Lobby in Downtown Syracuse at the corner of Fayette and Clinton Street, unless you happen to notice the sandwich board sign out in front of the building you wouldn't notice it. The good about this place from what I can tell you is rotating $5 lunch specials, free delivery of lunch within the downtown area, a rewards program based off points of dollars spent, and a friendly staff and reasonable prices on a pretty expansive menu for a cracker jack box sized Deli. And most of the food is fresh prepared right in front of you. Sometimes even by Joe himself! I decided to try something that was a regular item on their menu which is cleverly named with streets and areas in Syracuse. I had the "Onondaga" which is essentially a chicken bacon ranch panini. One thing I love about it is its a pressed sandwich, Which next time I try one of their pressed ones I'll get a different bread. The standard for this sandwich is a local favorite, pastas stretch bread. Which is absolutely delicious, but it just doesn't press well in my opinion and it makes it overly chewy. If I customized it a little and got a different bread, it would have helped it. But it did use a lot of fresh ingredients bacon made right on the flat top and roasted chicken breast cut right there, and a good quality ranch dressing. I got a side of fries as well which were just basic shoestring fries but were fresh fried to order for me. I can say if you want a budget lunch that is of good quality, Joe's definitely is a great choice, as it ran me less than $10 for quite a bit of lunch with a drink. I can definitely say that I will make a return trip. And even though its hard to find for the general public, they definitely are loved by the downtown workers as they probably churned through 30 customers as I ate mine in their quaint little dining area of about 4 tables. If its that routinely eaten, I think you as well might like to "Eat At Joe's"!
