Rather than telling the person handling the phone order that the croissants were already ordered, the cashier just apologetically smiled. It's our first time here (we told the cashier that) and she tried to offer other options, but we weren't looking for cake first thing in the morning. What's weird is that the person handling the phone order was making drinks before and after so I'm not sure if this was an order for a friend or a legitimate customer. The whole thing was disappointing and soured our opinion and experience. Seven employees were working and it still took over 10 mins to get two lattes. When served, our drinks were not hot because the espresso shots had been sitting on the counter cooling off while the milk was steamed and the flavoring added. The interstellar had good flavor but was kid's temp by the time I got it. The honey saffron didn't taste like anything and was slightly warmer, but fell flat flavorwise. Overall, the experience didn't feel particularly high end as the prices would reflect, nor efficient. I'm not sure if I would return.

The vibe was relaxed and low-key, making it a good place to sit down and get some work done. I spent some time working while I was there and appreciated having a space where I could focus without feeling rushed. The staff was pleasant, and one of the employees was kind enough to take a picture for me when I asked, which I appreciated. The only thing that stood out to me was that there wasn't much of a greeting or acknowledgment when I walked in, but it wasn't a huge issue. The seating was okay. The chair I chose wasn't the most comfortable for an extended stay, but it got the job done. There was also some rock music playing during my visit, which helped create a casual atmosphere. I didn't order any coffee or food this time around, so I can't speak to the menu yet. This visit was more about finding a place to work and unwind for a bit. Would I come back? Yes. While I'm still searching for my go-to coffee lounge in Syracuse, Recess is definitely a spot I'd visit again. It has a chill, unpretentious vibe that makes it easy to settle in and spend some time there. I forgot to take more pictures will do when I go back.

They are a fast casual breakfast & lunch shop whose main selling point is they keep things simple and cheap. I've driven by Sunshine's many time, as it's on my way to work. I have gone twice now for breakfast. The first time, I got one of their sandwich specials with a bacon & ham omelet with cheese on a bagel. I've also tried a sausage, egg & cheese on a croissant, along with their home fries & hash browns. Here's the thing...nothing here is BAD. But it is bland. Sunshines is exactly what they market themselves as - fast, cheap and SIMPLE. Nothing is seasoned enough, their potatoes are slightly undercooked (as in very soft, no crisp to them, not raw), and even their meats don't seem to have much flavor to them. If all you're looking for is a VERY simple meal, Sunshine has you covered. If you're looking for something with some more flavor or creativity, it may not be the breakfast spot for you

They usually have some form of doughnuts or even sweet options in the fridge- fruit, baked goods, pudding, etc. They have a great fridge selection of beverages like sodas or juice.
